I had a 10:00 a.m. appointment and my vehicle wasn't taken back until 12:30. It then took 3 and 1/2 hours to have four tires balanced and mounted. There was zero communication or timelines given during the whole process.

I set a 9 AM appointment, was told 3 hours MAX for pick up. I call at 1:30, and they hadn't even started on my car. I didn't pick up my car til nearly 6 PM. 9 hours to change TIRES? What are we doing?

Towed my truck there, they got it running, said it was good, i picked it up, paid over $1000, it was not good. Brought it back, they kept it for a week, never called me to update, I always had to call and wait on hold. Charged me another 160 just to tell me they couldn’t figure it out and declined to work on it further. I diagnosed the issue myself, and fixed it within 2 days. Their so-called “master tech” couldn’t fix in a week what I fixed in 2 days in an autozone parking lot.

Came for a tire repair and they patched it. 5 hours later my tire leaked 20 psi. Brought it back and they said they couldn’t find an issue. I went home and looked at the tire myself and found a nail in it that they missed twice. I should’ve paid attention to the 1 star reviews. Complete waste of time and money.

I was in town for my niece's 50th Birthday celebration. Notice that my tire desperately needed air. I knew it had to something wrong, because of the amount of air my tire lost overnight from just setting. Luckily l had an automatic air pump in my vehicle. But because this was a Saturday, l wasn't sure if l could get fast and adequate service, to properly have my tire checked thoroughly, boy was l wrong. PEP BOYS, was available and provided the best customer service and care needed for my car. Thank you especially Julie and Technician Brian who service my vehicle that same day!

Went In for an alignment, and plug tire. Waited two hours for them to get done to only tell me they couldn't do the alignment cause my tires were to big. Should of told me that from the start. Also had told them to make sure to check all my tire pressure. The tire they plugged they filled up way more then the others and didn't touch the others . Had to stop at air pump and do them all myself .

We made the appointment on Saturday and was told it’s gonna be a 2 hours fix the next day. Put our cat at 9 am on Sunday and then they said some parts are missing and they don’t have it at the store so they have to get it from other stores. We didn’t leave this horrible place until 2 pm!!!!! If you are looking for a place to waste your time and money, here’s the perfect spot for you!

I was treated very poorly at the Hampton location. I sat there for 3 1/2 hours waiting to get my van aligned. I go to the register to ask the guy at the register how much more longer with my vehicle because I had kids at home so the manager sits there in alert the guy to bring me the keys i’m standing outside and watch the guy pull out of the garage. Almost hit the tow truck company with my van. Then he gave my keys to the manager with that nasty attitude. Then the manager calls me over and tells me my vehicle is ready. I thought it was very strange that he said it was ready after three minutes of me asking how much more longer with my vehicle OK so I go to pull out of the parking lot in my vehicle and the whole steering wheel is just shaking nonstop worse than it was before I got there so I get to the light. I bust a U-turn I goes back and I ask them. What kind of work did y’all do on my van because I came here to get alignment in my van was not aligned the manager. That’s when the manager says well I’m sorry about that. Can you come back tomorrow? I said no I cannot because I work the rest of the week so he said give me the keys and let me go find out what they did to your van which then he came back and say oh they’re gonna go ahead and do your alignment now but then and only then he let me know that the work was never done, but yet he printed out paperwork as if the van was completed. I have 3 to 4 different paperwork with receipts saying what they did to my van. Which in reality Nothing was done to my van. I really appreciate if the corporate office could run the cameras back to see how badly I was treated how poorly I was treated and no work was done to my vehicle at all. Remind you I was charged zero dollars for the work they claim they did to my vehicle.

I had a scheduled appointment for 9:00 AM this morning. Around 2:00 PM, I called to check on the status of my vehicle and was informed that it had just entered the service bay due to staffing shortages and employee call-offs. I was told that work was only just beginning at that time. (They didn’t care to reach out and inform me of this gladly I didn’t have nothing else to do… I’m afraid if I didn’t call them, I would’ve never knew that my car was just beginning to get worked on) At approximately 4:00 PM, I called again and was advised that only one portion of the service had been completed. Later, around 5:00 PM, I received a call stating that the vehicle would require an additional 45 minutes of work. However, I never received a follow-up call to confirm that my vehicle was finished. When I arrived at the shop in an Uber, I noticed my vehicle already parked outside in the lot. Ultimately, I did not pick up my vehicle until 6:05 PM despite having dropped it off at 9:00 AM. Upon pickup, I was informed that I would still be required to pay the full price and that no manager was available at the time. I was advised that if I wished to request a discount or speak with a manager, I would need to wait until the following day.

Took a vehicle in for an oil change, was told that it would take a couple of hours….after 3+ hours waiting in the waiting room they tell me that the vehicle could not be serviced tonight because there were some cars ahead of mines that needed tire service but that they could re-schedule me for another day….when I asked if the vehicle would get serviced right away since i had already waited 3 hours they said they could not guarantee it. They should of just told me that they would not be able to service the vehicle when i first got there instead of letting me wait 3+ hours. This is HORRIBLE SERVICE! Other places tell you right away that they are fully booked if they cannot service your car that day! Stop wasting people’s time!

Feel like they tried to swindle me for parts and repairs that weren't necessary and didn't want to honor all services offered by coupon. Was still a great price for the service offered though. When i arrived, i was informed that the appointment time does not mean they will start on the car at that time, but whenever a spot opens up. What's the point in appointments then?

Took my vehicle in for a battery light. Paid for them to run tests. Was told by 2 different employees the alternator was fine and needed a new battery. Purchased the battery and battery light came right back on. Dealership is telling me it is the alternator. I do not believe any test was even conducted. Poor service!!

I stood in line patiently for about 15 minutes — no issue. When I finally got to the counter, I asked about windshield wipers and tires. Tires? Fine, they didn’t have my size and said it would take three weeks. No problem there. But then Cody grabs the windshield wipers, scans them, and tells me they aren’t in his inventory so he can’t sell them. I understand policies — that part wasn’t the problem. What set me off was the complete lack of effort to fix the situation. No checking the back, no offering alternatives, no looking up another store, no “let me try something else.” Just a flat, dismissive: “I can’t sell them to you.” That’s it. The customer service at the Hampton (Mercury Boulevard) Pep Boys was absolutely disappointing. Cody made zero attempt to help or troubleshoot. I left feeling like my time was wasted and like my business didn’t matter. Do better.

Sister took her car in for state inspection. They rejected her for a failing headlight (understandable) and a leaking valve cover & spark plug tube seals. There was a little oil on the valve cover from the but that spilt after filling her oil from a change I did 2 days prior. They tried to charge her 600$ for the repairs plus 2 other "faults" they came across. I ordered gaskets and seals, hdlamps and sparkplugs since I was getting in there (2014 Camry 4 cylinder 180k) + cabi air filter that she obviously didn't have changed prior to buying the car - all for 90$.there was NO oil in her tube plug tubes (denso sparkplugs were great condition and not even touched by oil). There was a little oil trial from the oil that ran off the valve cover from the but I spilt, but nowhere on around the entire cover was there a leak. I'm glad I got a call and took care of it for her after she called me explaining how much she was going to have to pay to have the car pass inspection. She failed inspection after her break from college in North Carolina and had to drive all the way back when the parts arrived so she could get it inspected the next day. The person inspecting did no due diligence to confirm there was a leak. Didn't even ru to inspect the spark plugs to verify the tue seals were clean and just charge her for a valve cover. The only good thing out this entire experience was I was able to do preventative maintenance and the piece of mind she's free from that scam Running a business for 11 years I understand how much a positive review can mean. I wouldn't leave a review unless it was true and after that experience my older brother senses kicked in and this is the best route I wanted to muster so they could pay some form of consequences and save someone from getting ripped off in the future.
