These guys are crooks! I just got new wheels elsewhere but there alignment machine was broken so I sent my wife to pep boys to get it done. They got it done but when it was back there they said front driver side axle was “leaking”. They quoted her over $600 and told her she needs to get it done within the next 90 days in order to get a free alignment under warranty. I changed the lower control arms on this car over the weekend. The car has 55k miles on it. I fully inspected those axles. When the new tires where installed yesterday the wheels were dry. My wife drove the car to pep boys and back home and now grease is all over the wheel and wheel well. The boot has clearly been sliced open with a knife. I’ve been working on cars my whole life and have heard of shops doing garbage like this but have never experience it my self. It cost me $60 dollars and 30 minutes to replace the axle. I will make sure every car I work on, I tell people to stay away from pep boys. I wouldn’t even send someone here for a oil change. Stay away!!

Morning crew us good but if you make appointment for week day 5:30 PM or later the service guy says they will call to cancel or reschedule so they dont have to complete the service. The guy said he doesn't want to stay late and closing up takes a long time.

Couldn't do alignment, had a bent strut I wasn't aware of. They new, took my money anyway, claimed they did it manually, still pulled to the left. They didnt tell me about the strut before or after but somehow its on one of the papers I got back via text. Now I can add 2 new tires for wear and tear in addition to strut and alignment. Been a week waiting to hear back from corporate. Take the tint off windows in the shop so we can see what you're doing in there. Update its Tuesday 8/5/25 still no response on complaint for over a week. Update Thursday 8/7/25 still no call back for resolution. We'll over a week and Def not 24-48 hours. Today's update 8/21 after complaint I still havn't heard back from corporate. Notification of emails being sent but to who im waiting to find out. Update 8/25/25 still no respnse from corporate. Update: about 2 weeks ago I spoke to Chris close to the weekend, who said I would here from another person expected by monday. I'm still waiting to hear from the person higher up.

I had check emission light during my travel to riverside to drop my son, I was stuck there and could not travel back to Pleasanton because of this issue. Pepboys team on Sunday diagnostic not only resolved in time, but also did not take advantage of servicing on Sunday as it was important for me to get back to Pleasanton after getting the car serviced. Also sense of humor and jolly nature of Ron was an added advantage

Alex and Ron were very nice welcome people and helpful.. I went in a week earlier for a alignment. And they told me I had other problems.,. That's What I like about all the technician at pep boys they showed me the problem, so I could see with my own eyes, I'm the type of person that likes to see the issues when told.. that's the type of customer service I like.. not like other places, when you ask them to so you, they make every excuse not to show you.. That's a red flag for me..

My car was running hot! And my check engine light was on. I was told there were 2 different diagnostic test to determine the problem. I paid to see why it was running hot. They told me it was " the thermostat housing unit. I paid $850, took my car home, 2 days later, car still running hot!! I took it back. Now they claim it's the radiator! Why didn't the diagnostic test see that first! Now they want $1,050 I loss trust in them. They kept my car a whole week! The mechanic was sick, or something. I decided not to let them fix the radiator. No more pep boys for me.

I recently had my tires and oil changed at this shop. The next day, my tire pressure warning light came on. I initially thought the new tires were low on air, but it turned out the new TPMS sensors hadn't been properly calibrated. Pep boys on Sunnymead has always given me great customer service. I went in for an oil change and vehicle inspection. I ended up needing a new battery for my car, but Carlos helped to make sure I could receive some of the business discounts. While I don’t mind paying for what my car needs, it’s nice to know that there are people working here who want to get you the best deals without spending so much extra money. I have had cautions in the past about being tricked at other auto service companies, just for the simple fact that I am a woman, but Pep Boys always gives the best advice and deals for cars. I’m afraid of going anywhere else😅
