I just got off the phone with a guy named Barry and prior to this call i was referred to him by someone else and Barry stated he would charge$600 to fix my air conditioning since then the price boosted to$800 I'm confused which price is correct

I am not a mechanic, and I am a skeptic in placing my car in someone's hands, but after reading the previous reviews of Petty's Automotive, I decided to give them a call. I brought my car in at 730 am and left it with Mr. Petty. After lunch I received a call that my car was fixed and he explained the work that was done. Although I do not know or understand the cost of mechanic work, my colleague accompanied me to pick up my car, and after I/we were shown the parts replaced by the mechanic, my colleague said the cost given for the work was reasonable. Thanks Mr. Petty, I will be a returning customer.

While fixing my anti lock pump assembly the lines to my a/c were removed to make the repairs. After the repairs were done the low service port cap was left off causing my freon to run out. I was told if the freon leak was because of them they would fix it for no charge. After the problem was fixed Barry charged me for fixing a problem they caused saying we are breaking even like he done me a favor. I feel like I was ripped off and any good business should take care of the customer if they were at fault.

I have been coming here for over 5 years. The staff and owner have always done their best to help us get our cars fixed. We have had brakes replaced, air conditioning compressor was leaking before and had it replaced, at one time my truck kept jumping in limp mode. I took it the Petty's, the owner Barry called me and told me my truck had a recall on a part in the transmission that was causing the issue. I took it to the Ford dealership and sure enough that was the problem. They fixed it free of charge. Once i had my truck just not start. He knew there was an issue with the fuse for the fuel system. The fuse was burned up. i replaced it, got the truck running and then took it to him to relocate the fuse. It was going to keep overheating and burning up the fuse. He has fixed things on all of my cars including my extended family and some friends. The staff has always been friendly and very helpful. i also do not believe i am being over charged for repairs. So far, i nor anyone i know of i sent there has had any issues with the service they havw received.

I brought my vehicle in for service on my AC, Which was scheduled prior to me bringing it. Couple of days went by and the owner informed me that my car would not crank So he could not test to see if the work that he performed actually worked or not. He informed me that it could be my fuel pump. He told me he did not have time to check the fuel pump so I actually had a tow truck Pick my truck up and take it to another shop. The other shop informed me that the fuel pump wire has been cut, Which is not something I could’ve done because we drove the truck to Petty to get the AC service. After I informed Petty, He told me that that was something that he did not do. This was my first encounter with this shop, I would not recommend at this point, I actually spent $180 to fix an issue that Petty done probably by mistake. After I brought the issue to petty attention, he informed me that he did not cut the wire and that he doesn’t owe me any money, Which the wire was not cut prior to me driving the truck 30 minutes to his shop.
