Sent my core in 6 months ago. If I'm lucky enough to have them answer my call, I get the run around. Excuses have ranged from Jim isn't here at the moment to my wife handles that and she'll call you back when she returns. Maybe they build the best motors in the world but it doesn't matter if they can't deliver product. Don't believe the hype.

Cannot say enough good things about Jim and his shop. I was in the process of rebuilding my 85 4Runner here in Texas and he was willing to chat with me on several occasions and give me pointers when I got stuck. He was able to help me resolve a water leak and ultimately is the reason I ended up replacing the head on my 22RE. Glad to she's up and running and sounds better than ever.

I recently purchased a Stage 2 head from 22RE Race Works for my 1986 Toyota Pickup 4x4, and I'm beyond impressed. The machine work is absolutely flawless-clean, precise, and clearly done with expert-level attention to detail. I haven't installed it yet, but just seeing the craftsmanship has me seriously excited to get it on the truck. What really stood out was the outstanding customer service. Over a period of about 15yrs, I've purchased three 22RE stage2 engines from Putney's - not to mention countless parts and accessories. Jim Putney's engines are smooth and run like a Swiss watch. When purchasing my third stage2 engine, I just had to make the trip from Idaho to Chico, pick up my engine in person, and shake hands with the master class engine builder Jim Putney. Wow, it absolutely was worth the trip! To meet Jim and witness my newly built engine run on the dyno was a real honor after all these years and multiple engines later. The whole 22re RaceWorks operation is quite a process. To see everything first hand only validated my assumptions of engine building expertise and integrity. I really can't say enough positives about what Jim and Alisha have going on with their business. I'll end by saying that if you're on the fence about getting on their multi-year wait list, get off the fence and get on the list.
