Following up on my negative post from a few months back.... Again tried to contact the owner with no response. His mechanic had changed the plastic timing chain guides but had failed to remove the oil pan to clean the pieces of the old guides from the oil pan. As the engine would run these pieces would get sucked up into the pick up tube causing the engine to lose oil pressure. A total rookie mistake!

I was in Knoxville from out of town when my starter went out late last night. Rick’s took my car that night and replaced the starter so I could get home to my family today. Excellent service, sense of urgency and affordable pricing to boot! Thanks for what you did!

Bradley was amazingly helpful with getting my car towed to the shop because I was broke down in Knoxville and live in Tri-Cities. Had it diagnosed within the day and beat everyone else’s prices that I called. Thank you so much for the help!

Our vehicle broke down late Sunday evening while we were on our way home from out of town. A local tow company recommended Rick's Automotive. We were definitely misguided! We left the vehicle with Rick's to be inspected Monday morning, upon opening. My husband called Monday morning and was told they just started to take a look. Rick's then gave him a call back stating a hose needed to be repaired, estimating costs to be $500... for a hose! My husband never told them to start on any work and stated he would give them a call back. We received 2nd opinions closer to home and found it in our best interest to get it towed back to us. My husband calls back, Rick's does not answer. My husband leaves a voicemail stating we will send a tow Tuesday morning for our vehicle. Rick's finally returns my husband's phone call, and stated the work had already been done and now it was only $130. However, they found another leak/cracked housing that needed to be repaired, but this was going to be $495. Rick's did not mention the 2nd leak/cracked housing during the 1st call. I wouldn't be surprised if it was their mistake and it happened while they were repairing the hose, that we never told them to repair! Rick's purposely ignored my husbands phone calls and we had to call from other phone numbers to get an answer. Now that a we have a tow truck there to pick up our vehicle. We then find out the 2nd leak/cracked housing is not a pressing issue and the vehicle is still able to be driven. Which was not disclosed to us yesterday! So not only did we have to pay for this repair, but the tow bill. Rick's definitely tries to take advantage of families traveling out of town. Clearly, they did not realize we have other options. Thankfully, I will never have to deal with this repair shop again, as we do not live in Knoxville. However, I hope others are able to use our experience as a cautionary tale. AVOID RICK'S AUTOMOTIVE AT ALL COSTS! UPDATE 2/20/20: After receiving 2nd opinion. There was nothing wrong with the oil coolant housing. The only issue that was found was Rick's did not add enough antifreeze fluid and did not bleed the lines. For a $140 charge, they couldn't even get that right.

We use Rick's Automotive for all of our Fleet vehicles. Can't beat the service, price, location and quality of repair from Ricks. He and his team are very knowledgeable and get the job done! Typically fast and quality does not go together but here, they have it down. We keep our fleet running with Rick's Automotive!

Have been getting my used tires here for half a decade, always so incredibly friendly. I had a problem with a leak in one tire years ago and they were so so quick to replace it.

I have taken several of my vehicles and my family's vehicles to Rick's automotive and always had a positive experience. Rick and his team are hard workers and do a great job. The rates are much lower than any other shop and save you money. I have also purchased several vehicles from Rick's automotive and they were great purchases. I would recommend to anyone!

Repair had taken a bit longer than stated and cost 200 more than estimated but the real kicker was when they took it for a test drive the left front wheel fell off. Then I go to file a claim and they do not have an active policy in effect. Great way to run a business. Stay far away from them

BEWARE!! Shady rip off repair service!!! The “fixed” my 5.4 f150 charging $2k for timing chains cam phasers and several other parts however all they did was put block off plates on the cam phasers… they didn’t even change the seals around the vct solenoids where they put the block off plates!!! So it leaks oil so bad from the valve cover that you have to add 2 qts every week and when the engine is running you can see it pouring out from the vct solenoid and it smokes from the oils leaking over the the exhaust manifolds on both sides…they could have at least replaced the 30$ seals for 2 thousand dollars!! Beware!! They just took the $ and put in some 50$ block off plates instead of repairing my engine like they were supposed to do now it also gets terrible gas mileage because the variable timing isn’t variable and it leaks oil and smokes horribly.. what a joke!! Look at pics!
