My Audi was getting a complex because practically every garage flatly refused to work on it. German cars are too difficult for those who are used to Domestic brands, it seems. Not so for Randy and the team. Thermostat fitted and windscreen washers working for the first time in a long time in a long time. When I have some cash to spare in 2023 I am taking it back to get more things fixed! Great job guys. You delivered.

Via recommendation from a competitor, needed the rear brakes done on our 2018 Equinox. Got done pretty quick even when needing to order a couple rotors. Great shop owned by a friend got my lift and my tires for my truck there. They lifted my truck with no issues rides like I’m on a cloud. I was originally recommended to go here by several mechanic shops that were scared of the electrical issue I had with my van (squirrels). They told me to tow it to RJ Auto, and they would know what to do (which was great advice). The decline in quality of service as well as customer service has been upsetting & sad to see. For the last 3 years since moving to Burlington I was an advocate and proud customer who gladly supported them but since last year I have just not had a good encounter with them. I owned a Honda crv with a special key lock needed to remove the tires. When I needed my brakes worked on I provided this key lock and when I got my vehicle back it was missing. I informed Randy about this and how his mechanic either failed to or forgot to put my key lock back he firmly disagreed with me and stood by his mechanic and did not want to pay to replace the item. I begrudgingly let it go and replaced it myself. This year just a few weeks ago I had my vehicle a Mitsubishi endeavor, towed into the shop after experiencing what I was believing was a dead battery or alternator issue. When I dropped off the vehicle they diagnosed it as poor battery health and replaced it. Later that evening after hours I retrieved my key fob out of their drop box only to discover it was broken in pieces and barely being held back together with some buttons missing. I called and left a voicemail that night about the issue because it was the weekend I knew I would not hear back until Monday from them. Not even 24 hours later I am going to leave my work parking lot only to find my battery is dead again but now when I touch the battery with my bare hands it sparked and sparked when I turned the key in the ignition. I called them once again and left a voicemail for them letting them know about this second issue. I went to the Mitsubishi dealership the following day to see about fixing my key fob and was informed it would cost up to $300+ to fix. Monday I received a call from Caleigh the front desk worker who was responding to my concerns she first stated in the call that when my key was left in the drop box it was fine and not broken yet after I pushed back on that and wanting to understand how then it could have broken while sitting in the box she backtracked and now says that actually the technician and Randy himself saw my key and that it was broken when I gave it to them (it most certainly was not and it was not broken when the tow truck driver used it either) and so I pushed backed on this contradiction and the conversation turned into a confrontation as I asked for them to be held accountable for breaking my key and that’s all I’m asking from them because I’ve trusted them as a shop since I moved here and now I am extremely let down and upset at how they wanted to conduct business and at this point the shop owners wife Jenn gets on the phone to double down on me and tell me they are not responsible and the key I brought was broken and they were not gong to argue with me any further. When I asked about my battery issues they told me I would need another diagnostic test they would charge me for & if what they replaced was still the issue they would fix it but I still would be required to pay the diagnostic cost. I refused & hung up with them. 2 weeks has gone by with multiple incidents of my battery still cutting off with a brand new battery. Today I was driving down the highway the issue came to light when going 70mph on the interstate the vehicle completely shut off due to the two connections finally melting away as you can see in the pictures I provided that the conductor was extremely corroded and melting into the brand new battery at the point of connection. I paid them $366.83 for a new battery when they could clearly and easily see it was the conductor which only cost $9 from autozone to replace. The negligence of this work and complete lack of accountability they are willing to take to have their technicians backs but not the well being of the customers is unacceptable and in my case today dangerous. I have been to this shop multiple times over these last 3 years with multiple vehicle trips for both mine and my fiancés I hope nobody else has something so scary happen to them because of the poor quality work and care they received from RJ Automotive.

This place and the people are AWESOME! They were recommended to me to have work done on my car because I needed a catalytic converter. I was going to the beach the next weekend. Randy was such a nice guy and told me not to worry about anything. He asked if I could bring my car the next morning and he would get it ready for the beach. That is exactly what he did! I then had a knob break that controls the fan speed for my heating/air and he took care of that as well. His wife Jenny was very helpful with that situation as well. This is where I will take my car anytime it needs something done and I highly recommend them!!!!

I took my daughter’s car to RJ's auto shop for repairs, and from the moment I inquired about a diagnostic check, the experience was outstanding. The communication throughout the entire process with Randy and Jenn—was impeccable. I honestly haven’t seen this level of professionalism in a long time; I almost thought it no longer existed. Jenn clearly explained everything that was going on, what was most important to address, and never made me feel pressured or confused. Most importantly, I felt I could truly trust them. I’m comfortable sending my daughter here on her own in the future, knowing they would be honest with her and not try to take advantage. That peace of mind means everything. I very rarely do this but I had to let people know about the hidden jewel in Burlington, NC. About 3 weeks ago in late February. I had some major work done on my truck. I didn't know who would perform the custom work without going to the dealer being it was a diesel truck. RJ Automotive was recommended to me from Rudy's Custom shop. Jason at Rudy's recommended RJ Automotive for the install. Needless to say, I'm beyond impressed.The crew at RJ Automotive exceeded my expectations. They were knowledgeable and very professional through the entire process. Randy,the owner/operator, kept me informed on his progress and fixed potential issues that may have arose in the future. Through text and pics he kept me well informed. If you need a good if not excellent mechanic in all aspect in the automotive field. Please don't give it a second thought about this establishment. They do it all from major work to minor things like oil changes, batteries, or tire rotations. You definitely wont be disappointed. He has a great crew working for him. Most importantly his prices for services are more than reasonable. Needless to say, he definitely has a future customer for my any and every need, Thank you RJ Automotive. I'm traveling with a loaded pickup and trailer in tow and had a breakdown last evening, but if I lived in the area, THIS would be my shop. Randy and Jennifer (the RJ in RJ Automotive, a family-owned and -run business) have developed a great service business and I benefited greatly from their efforts. After some research and parking lot diagnosing myself last night, I realized the issue that had developed with my older pickup will require additional work when I get to my destination, and I had a plan for what I would like done to get me back on the road so I could deliver before rain approaches. When I called this morning, I knew right away that Randy knows what he's talking about, so I headed to his shop. As busy as they were this morning, seeing that I was traveling, he listened to my observations graciously, and was able to fit me into the schedule, without making me feel like he was being put out or stressed. He even came up with a second potential option for getting me back on the road more quickly, which after foreman Chris pulled the truck apart, turned out to be the best option, and the one I chose, saving me time and money. I was so grateful. I appreciated being offered the chance to see the damaged parts and to see the finished job and how well it was now working. Jennifer kept the front office humming along and it was a pleasure to listen in on how all customers are treated the same way I had been treated. I was treated with respect all the way through, kept informed, and made to feel welcome. The replacement part arrived fast, was installed fast, and between Randy, Chris, and Jennifer, I was well cared for. Thank you for being so helpful, professional, friendly, and all at a fair price. I could not have asked for a better place to break down in or a better team to work with.
