After bringing my cars over the years to many mechanic shops & dealerships I recently had transmission troubles with my 2006 Scion and chose route 63 for the first time!!!! And was I surprised on how the gentleman at the front desk had the customers best interests first he went through all my options and the transmission fix was perfect and route 63 pricing was very very very competitive and the cleanliness (no tools all over .. everything in it's place) and the mechanics are respectful & very considerate of your car and return your car to you like it's there own!!!!!!!! This review is from a new customer who was stuck there with a transmission problem and had nothing better to do so I watched everyone work!!!!!!!!! I found my go to mechanic shop!!!!!!!!!! Trust me route 63 automotive won't disappoint!!!!! ---S.Tajildeen

This was my second experience using this repair facility. Both instances were outstanding. My car was serviced quickly without any long wait. The proprietor has outstanding customer relations skills. The problem was diagnosed immediately. The technician even checked the entire framework for other possible issues. Bottom line is I highly recommend Rt 63 Automotive.

I brought my Hyundai Tiburon back 3 times before they fixed it right. I have a Mazda 3 now. On June 2nd I had them install KYB struts/shocks in my car. I bought it back because I heard a knocking noise in the front drivers side. They had to replace the front drivers side strut.I called them again because there was still a problem with the front end. The owner [Joe] said to me that I was the only one that keeps coming back because there was a problem with the work they do. Well Joe, if you fixed it right the first time, I wouldn't have to keep bringing it back. I wouldn't recommend this garage to anybody Why don't mention the comment you made to me in regards to bringing both my cars back. It's your job to fix it right the first time. Even if the customer has to bring it back 100 times, YOU have to make it right, without complaining!!!! DID YOU FORGET THE SAYING "THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

This is by far the best mechanic shop I've ever used. The owner, Joe, has exceptional attention to detail, is extremely thorough, and settles for nothing less than doing the job right. I've used Route 63 for tires, maintenance, repairs, and to check out any used car before I buy it. I get great value and great service every time.

Great auto service! The owner, Joe, is knowledgeable, friendly & professional. He explains everything clearly & doesn't perform unnecessary work. The senior mechanic, Sean, is without a doubt the best mechanic in the county. He's a human diagnostic machine wizard of car problems.

Joe is very fair and thorough. He recently did my car’s ball joints and front brakes. It Feels like a brand new ride! He has great knowledge of cars and will walk you through your car’s issue. Also I like how immaculate he keeps his shop. Give them a try!

This shop is the cleanest of any auto shop I have been in. They have been in Watertown since March of 2017 I think the owner told me and they were located in Woodbury prior to that for many years. Owner is very easy to talk to (as well as the technicians). Honest prices! My car was in and out in an hour on two occasions. They do most auto repairs and tires, too! I highly recommend this business in Watertown for fast, friendly and honest work.

Waited a week for an appointment to fix my vintage car. The owner never called with a list of items that needed repair and cost. They did repair some items (and did a decent job). However, I got the impression that they gave my car attention only in their spare time, with the car was going in and out a couple of times a day, for less than an hour here and there. On day 3 pulled the plug and took my car back. Not what I thought I was getting or wanted. Poor customer service, the owner was not truthful about how he was handling my repair job. An upsetting and bad experience!

I have never been disappointed with the quality of work and the level of customer service provided by Route 63 Automotive. They always go above and beyond to ensure that my vehicle is running smoothly and safely. I trust their expertise and appreciate their honesty when it comes to recommending necessary repairs or maintenance. It's clear that they truly care about their customers and take pride in their work. I am grateful to my dad for introducing me to this shop, as it has become my go-to place for all of my automotive needs. I have recommended them to friends and family, knowing that they will receive the same exceptional service that I have come to rely on. I feel confident knowing that my vehicles are in good hands when I bring them here, thanks to the legacy of trust and reliability passed down from my dad.

I was a young man in my early 20’s And was clearly taken advantage of Bad experience He does good work but I had a bad experience here They replaced the water pump, radiator and serpentine belt, 3 weeks later the engine under warranty seized. And they told the warranty company it was my fault the engine seized, when the previous work they did if done correctly would have kept the engine in proper working order. I had a warranty Why would they say it’s my fault When they can just have the warranty company pay them. Not a young adult trying to get their life together Stay away Unless you hav money to spend

Nice but selfish. My car needed a new transmission but I couldn't afford it got it towed there Joe told me if I wanted to give him the car that would be fine the car was only 9 years old and in good shape I couldn't afford to get it towed back so I gave it to him for free just to have him fix it and sell it. I'm disappointed because he is suppose to be a church man yet he didn't offered me at least $20 to help with groceries. Would not recommend this place very disappointed.

If I could leave a negative ten stars I would, this place is not worth the one star here, won't let me post with no star selected. Terrible place. Avoid, Avoid, please avoid save your hard earned money. Charged $500 on BMW even though they were not able to remove a fuel injector. Then they informed us that it would be $5,000.00 to complete the full repair to drive the BMW off their property. I told the owner I couldn't see or understand how you are getting to $5000,00.00 for such a repair (removal of fuel injectors)Had to tow the car away. Car was not drive able after bringing it to this crooked shop. They did the same thing to another customer, didn't know of that negative post. Would have never had them "service" the car. State they work on foreign cars could even get the job done. Took $500. Owner / shop very dishonest. Avoid at all cost. This place should be shutdown. Consumer protection and DMV do nothing to protect the public from shysters like this shop. Should lose their license to operate this type of business. Legalize way to steal money from people. Please I ask all of you boycott this place. It should be closed permanently. There was no justification to charge $500 for a job not done. The car (BMW) had to be towed after the bringing it to this place, what does that say about them and their so called ability to "service" cars at this shop. Geo

I contacted Route 63 Automotive to perform a pre purchase inspection on a vehicle I was considering buying from Litchfield Hills Motor Cars. From the beginning, Route 63 Automotive spoke very highly of Litchfield Hills Motor Cars and told me an inspection was basically unnecessary and that I’d be wasting my money. That immediately raised concerns about how independent the inspection would be, given how strongly they were vouching for the dealer before the vehicle was even inspected. Even so, I foolishly insisted they do a pre purchase inspection and specifically asked for items like suspension components, undercarriage/frame condition (rust/rot/cracks), and leaks to be checked. Instead, after the vehicle was dropped off by the dealer, I received paperwork and billing for a “State Safety Inspection” (invoice line item: State Safety Inspection). The write up stated that tires/brakes/suspension/exhaust/fluids were in very good condition, all lights/systems were operating correctly, and noted only slight oil pan seepage. They did replace the battery, which I appreciate. After purchase, multiple significant issues were found that I believe should have been identified or at least flagged during the inspection I requested, including: • Frame rail crack near the rear body mount (passenger side) • Radiator leak • Transmission oil cooler line leak • Front differential leak • Exhaust hangers rusted off • Upper oil pan gasket leak • Driver/passenger door gasket leaks Used vehicles can have problems. That’s exactly why I requested a pre purchase inspection. My issue is that I requested a pre purchase inspection, but I was billed for and provided a state safety inspection write up, while failing to mention obvious and costly issues with the vehicle. With a visible frame crack, this vehicle should not have passed a safety inspection in the first place. This all occurred while I was also being strongly encouraged that the dealer “didn’t need” to be checked. Because of the seriousness of the issues, especially the frame crack, I will be requesting a refund. Based on this experience, I do not recommend Route 63 Automotive for pre purchase inspections, particularly when buying a vehicle from Litchfield Hills Motor Cars and expecting an independent evaluation.

I’ve been going to Route 63 Automotive in Watertown for years, and I can confidently say they run an honest, trustworthy business. Joe has always treated me fairly, and his master tech Sean is extremely knowledgeable. They take the time to explain repairs so you actually understand what’s going on with your car — no pressure, no upselling, no games. One of the main reasons I keep coming back is their fair pricing and transparency. They genuinely care about their customers and have a real passion for cars. I’ve seen some negative reviews that seem to be confusing this shop with Route 63 Garage in Naugatuck, which is completely different. Don’t let that deter you. Bring your car here and see for yourself. Bonus: Joe usually has some really cool cars in storage that are fun to check out while you’re there. Highly recommend!
