They do a great job, and don't charge an arm and a leg like many places around here. Most importantly, they're honest and never try to jip you.

I got here & they were closed at 3:45 despite saying open untill 5. That is bad business & you just wasted someone's time & money. I gave my business to someone else.

Great customer service! They were out of the item I brought up to the counter to purchase so they gave me the upgraded model for the same price as the item I selected without me even asking.

I brought my civic 2007 here to change the starter because labor cost was really low. It was $75/hr and I thought it’s fair. Starter price is around $50 but he sold it to us for $250. When I confronted him, he said you should have asked before and I can’t help you now. I even show him online price of the part, but he denied it. It is total fraud. I am going to write a complaint in bbb. I hope I can take back some of my money.

The proprietor of this auto body has been in business for over 30 years. He is very knowledgeable on all makes and models of cars. If there's something wrong with your vehicle, he will be honest and fair in telling you. Also offers paid parking for downtown commuting.

I've driven a fair number of clunkers and, as a result, acquainted myself with a fair number of repair shops. Of those, Royal stands out in my mind as honest, fair, efficient, and friendly. Most shops will just assure you that X was wrong with your car, and it's all better now. The guys working on my car actually showed me the busted part, explained how it broke, and showed me where the new part was installed. This might be just a minor gesture, but it goes a long way toward creating repeat business, especially since the problem WAS fixed. My car was in and out the same day, no backlog, no waiting for parts, it was great!

If I can give 10 stars I would. Jim and his team rocks the house. He is a very genuine guy and will not try to get you out of all your money. I wish we had more people and shops like Royal. I was referred here by a coworker during a crazy time that my AC Compressor clutch went out 3 weeks ago. All shops wanted 1k or more to replace my whole AC compressor and the condenser smh. Jim replaced my clutch and cleaned out the compressor for such an unbelievable price. He recently changed my fan belt and installed my driver side wheel fender liner for a little of nothing. I will always do business here and I would hate to see him retire.

I needed my window (whose regulator was broken) to be 'rolled up' so that air/wind cannot escape, and without it falling down when I drive. I asked them to do whatever necessary, as cheaply as possible. They were able to fix it for $25! I will still probably have to discreetly tape a few spots against rain, but that's ok with me! (Other repair shop quoted $250-$300, or possibly more). I told Royal Auto Repair that I just needed the window up and I didn't care about looks...they could've used whatever they wanted! So grateful!

Tonight I got a flat tire after hitting a pothole in the road I didn't see. I pulled into the parking lot on Sunday 12/23/18 just after 6 p.m. to change my tire myself with the spare I had in my trunk. The owner, Jim, was sitting in his car, and seeing my obvious issue offered to help me, even while he was closed. After I offered him money for his kindness, he declined and just told me to pay it forward. Thank you Jim, from the bottom of my heart. You've restored a smidgen of hope in the human race for me, and I will be sure to come to your shop for any automotive needs I have.

These guys were so nice and went to multiple different parts stores looking for a small part they needed just to fix my windshield wipers. Explained to me exactly what was wrong and how they fixed it. Super friendly, affordable, and did a great job!

Jim and his crew are the best! Car was running rough on a long road trip and I was stopping in St. Louis for a few days Oct 17th. I've been traveling for a while and Jim could've told me the car issues were much worse, instead he found my belts were just a little loose and 25 bucks later I was on my way. Honest, extremely friendly and genuine man. Thanks again Jim

Jim made my day and saved our vacation! We were staying in a downtown hotel after traveling 9 hours to St. Louis. While driving back from getting dinner the first night I noticed a rhythmic, clunking noise coming from the driver's side front wheel. After inspecting it and doing a Google search I determined that the lug nuts were loose on my wheel. Concerned about driving 9 hours home with a potential problem that could have caused them to come loose in the first place, I wanted to find a trustworthy mechanic to check the lugs and wheel to make sure everything was safe. But how do you find a trustworthy mechanic when you're just visiting from out of town?! So many places will try to rip you off, it seems. Royal Auto Repair had great ratings on Google and was only 10 minutes from our hotel, so I decided to take a chance and call them. I was told to come on down and they would take a look at it. I had no idea I was in for such a great experience! Jim checked my wheel (and all the others, too!), lubed and tightened everything up and gave me the confidence that we could drive home safely. Along the way he also shared some of his life stories with me and didn't charge me much at all for the repairs! I was so thankful to find such a great person and great service in a location with which I was completely unfamiliar. What could have been a very uncomfortable and frustrating situation was resolved in short order and with flying colors! Thanks, Jim, for being there for us and making our stay in St. Louis so much more enjoyable than it might have been had we not taken our vehicle to Royal Auto Repair!

Excellent service. Great folks. Honest, excellent repairs. Gave us money back when we picked the car up because "We don't fix what's not broken." Additionally, Jim and Co should be on every history teacher's list of resources for students to interview. He knows a lot; he's been doing business in that location for generations. Fascinating stories. I enjoyed listening and learning.
