Carlos and Joe were phenomenal. My wife and I were on a road trip when our fuel pump went out. They went out of their way to get our vehicle to their shop and worked very late on a weekend to get us on our way. Carlos even took care of some other unrelated issues for us free of charge. I highly recommend these guys!

What do you think of Silva's Automotive? I recently broke down and was towed to Silva's. The car was supposedly repaired and I was charged $500. Just over an hour of leaving the shop my car was running poorly and shorting out. I took the car back to the shop and left it with a note explaining that it was not running properly. I left the key in the lock box and walked to work in the dark and the cold. I called Silva's for two days at a total of ten to twelve calls and finally spoke to someone who said they would try to get my car fixed. I caught a ride home from work and about five hours later my car was delivered. The young man who delivered it said he was late because they ran out of gas. He handed me a paper saying my battery was leaking and that I needed to spend $400 more for a tune up. He then stated my car would not run because when the wires were disconnected that it made weak connections. The car ran poorly and broke down. I called Silva's and was given the run around. The business manager then called and basically belittled me, embarrassed me and put me down and made me cry. My regular mechanic who usually does my work cared enough to show up and get my car running and followed me home to make sure I was safe! I just don't know what to do. I feel like I was ripped off and basically that Silva's does not care about me or standing behind their work!

This man helped my family out immensely tonight. We were on our way back from a yellowstone / grand Teton road trip with two 6 year olds and a 3 month old and our alternator went out 2.5 hours away from our airbnb. He had several other vehicles in the bay and prioritized fixing our van. He dropped us off at a nearby park by the River and picked us back up when it was done. He saved our butts tonight and worked until 10 pm to fix our vehicle and get us safely back on the road. 5 stars.

I have had two repairs done there, and they were excellent. They replaced my rear brakes when they froze up and really helped me. Also, they have replaced my starter. Always got it done quickly and not have had any problems since then. Very reasonable, and very friendly. They do know what they are doing. They even noticed that my front bearing was going out when I did not ask them. It was a dangerous situation and they just examined what I needed when the car was on the lift. That is the type of car care that I need. Look out for me. They did not try and push it, and said even take to another place for a second opinion. They are trustworthy.

I could not speak highly enough of the service I received here. I came in from out of town and was supposed to leave the next day, and I heard funny noises from my car. It was late on a Saturday and I did not think anyone would be open. But Silvas was. I brought my car in and Carlos stayed 5 hours after closing to make sure he could get me back on the road when I needed to be. He then discovered major issues with my car that were not disclosed to me when I bought it, he spent 25 minutes speaking with the man who sold me the car and vouching for me. He repaired things for me late into the night. Not only is he a certified mechanic who knows what he is doing, but he cares about his customers. TRUST HIM WITH YOUR CAR.

I was very impressed with how quickly Mr. Silva was able to see my car during an emergency and get me on my way again, same day as my car broke down. Wow! Would not recommend. My car needed some repair near the serpentine belt. They told me they had the part and took it apart and then told me they didn’t have the part. They said they could order it in but it would take three days. I was on a time crunch and ended up having to pay them even though they did nothing to fix it. They also never gave me a diagnosis. Please be careful going here. Especially if you have something that might be a little more complex going on with your vehicle.

Carlos is an amazing human being. My car stopped working in Arco on a Friday evening and I found out that it was the alternator and they could not get one until Monday and I had to be in Three Forks, Montana the same evening and it was already 4:30/5. I started looking for auto repair shops in Idaho Falls, most of which closed at 6. It was going to take me about an hour to make it to Idaho Falls. I noticed Silva's was open until 7 pm so I gave it a shot, and got Carlos on the phone. He was so understanding of my situation and assured me he will stay at the shop late until my alternator was replaced and car working...! Who does that?!? Most repair place/ people would have said tough luck, given it was late on a Friday. But not Carlos. I drove to Idaho Falls and thankfully Carlos and his team member both worked on my car until 10:30 with all the car in the queue to get my work done and competed. Carlos was a lifesaver. I highly recommend Carlos and Silva's Auto if you're ever in a pickle with you vehicle and need a reliable place to get it fixed. Thank you again Carlos and best wishes to you and your crew!

I went to Silva’s to get a safety inspection on my car before driving to Texas. Carlos is a super nice guy and you can tell he cares about his customers. Wasn’t looking to just make money, he told me the things I could fix on my own but since he was so cool about it I wanted to make sure he got the business. Highly recommend as he pointed out small things that a large shop would likely miss. Awesome place and an awesome dude!

Carlos Silva runs a great local auto shop with a few other men. All of the men in the shop were extremely helpful. We broke down on our way to Montana at about 1 pm on a Saturday. Silva’s was the only auto shop open, we could not have been more lucky. Carlos made sure to it that we were back on the road as soon as possible, even considering the fact that he squeezed us in to his already packed schedule. He worked tirelessly to detect and fix our issue until 9 pm that night. He stayed 2 hours past his regular hours to help us and asked for nothing extra in turn. If you are in a bind, or simply need some auto work done, I highly recommend Silva’s.

My entire experience at Silva's was fantastic. We ran into car troubles leaving Yellowstone, and when local mechanics in Jackson were either unable to help or didn't have the parts on a Friday (our last day in town) to get us back on the road, we were forced to look elsewhere. Luckily, we were able to get the car to Idaho Falls where Mike, Carlos and team were able to get us all fixed up on a Saturday so we could continue our road trip. They charged a fair price and were very accommodating. I would highly recommend this shop to both locals and unlucky travelers (like myself) in the area alike. Thanks!

I never leave reviews on Google, but feel the need to. I'll start by saying that both Carlos and Mike seem like super nice guys. However, after taking my truck to them for issues with my serpentine belt getting chewed up, they told me that I needed a new power steering pump and a new water pump. They estimated that it would cost $2200 (the dealership told me they would only charge $1800). After not feeling right about it, we got a second opinion. Turns out, the clamp on the water pump just needed moved and we needed a new tensioner for the belt. The total cost was $450. I feel like we were lied to and Silva's tried to rip us off.

This is a great shop, not super fancy or anything, but they’re fair, they do their work well, and they know what they’re talking about. They were able to figure out what was wrong with my car and kept me updated all along the way throughout the fix. Mike (one of the mechanics who works here) was super helpful and very good at what he does, I really appreciate his honesty and straightforwardness. I will recommend Silva’s to my friends and will only be coming back to this shop in the future for any other car problems!

My husband and I cannot speak HIGHLY enough of this business along with Carlos and Mike. We are from Iowa and were traveling to Idaho when we began experiencing troubles with our truck. We had it towed to their shop on Sunday and he allowed us to stay in our camper in their parking lot. Even though it was a Sunday he came and introduced himself and took a look at our truck and ensured us they would get it fixed for us on Monday and get us back on the road. That is EXACTLY what they did! They stayed after hours in fact worked on it after midnight on Monday just to ensure we could get back on the road. We were extremely grateful for not only the mechanic knowledge and skill they had but for being genuinely amazing people. They explained not only everything with the vehicle but he loaned us a car for the day so we could go do stuff. If you are having problems you WILL NOT want to go anywhere else. Carlos and Mike thank you once again for everything you did for us!

I had a great experience working with Mike and Alison at Silva's Automotive. When my older Lincoln began severely misbehaving on a long road trip, I needed to stop and get it looked at, but nearly all the mechanics in the whole region were booked up for weeks! Silva's in Idaho Falls took the car after hours on a Thursday, did a thorough diagnosis the next morning, and called me with next steps in the afternoon. Alison was super nice and she kept me updated through the whole process. It turned out that my heater core had failed in the cold weather at Yellowstone. Mike walked me through all the reasons why this was the correct diagnosis and all the repair options in detail. I decided to get it bypassed temporarily so I could get the car back that night. All in, I was delayed only 36 hours and everything (diagnosis, new parts, fluid changes, post-fix test drive) cost a few hundred dollars. The car ran fine after the fix and sounded great, plus no more coolant smell. The next day, I drove it more than 600 miles to South Dakota and it went great. Mike and Alison stayed late on a Friday evening to get everything done, and they even picked me up from the motel when the car was ready. 11/10 highly recommend!

TERRIBLE!!! Went in to get my CV joint replaced and they completely trashed my wheels on their lift! Probably going to have to take them to small claims, would never recommend! Go to Vega's Repair instead if you're in Idaho Falls, they are great to work with and actually take care of their customers.
