Hands down the worst customer service and poorest service in general. Brought my car in for an estimate and then scheduled to bring in for another service in which I asked if they could fix both problems at once. They told me that they would have to look at the original issue again during this visit - okay fine. Brought my car in a third time for the service and was called 5 hours after dropping my car off that they ordered the wrong part and would reorder the correct part. That was now one month ago. Have called twice to ask for an update on the part, no one gets back to me. NEVER go here.

Seriously? +$200 for diagnosis even with work being done. It was a check engine light which the autobody place read for free and come up with the same conclusion, a faulty thermostat. To cut to the chase, if your Toyota warranty period is over, support your local mechanics.

Overall a great experience with Smart Toyota- from purchasing a 2020 used vehicle with Mia Kirsch and then a service with Sebastian Klarer. Both were very kind, thorough, responsive, and attentive. I plan repeat business and would easily refer a friend. I don't share this lightly as I recently had an absolutely horrible experience with a different car dealership so I completely know this kind of service does not always happen and starts at the top tier with management who cares.

Consumer beware - Wisconsin law allows car shops to charge up to $49.99 without including it in their quote or estimate. Smart takes full advantage of this cash grab opportunity and will bill you a miscellaneous shop fee of $49.98 when you come to pick up your vehicle. Legal technically, but unethical. So, inquire if you don’t want to be surprised and/or take your vehicle elsewhere if you can. Call your WI lawmakers too, while you’re at it.

I been waiting for 2 days trying not to write a negative review, but enough is enough. On Monday Toyota Smart service replace 2 tires and charged us only the replacement labor $50 each since the tires were under warranty, cause we bought them at their place in 2023 . Now they only replace 2 tires which is not ideal . Not to mention the tires we bought last year were from 2021 , and honestly that was probably the main reason they got damaged and needed to be replaced . I called yesterday at 11am and talked to Craig asking him if they could please also installed new tires in the rear which already are from 2023 ( also old ) , who politely told me his manger Peter would call me back to talk about it . Well it is over 24hs now and of course they haven’t called yet and probably they won’t . My advice to you , if you do tires check the date on the tire side wall like the photo I posted , or even do an oil change , check if filter was replaced too etc . Sad to say they r not only losing my business but the business of a bunch of coworkers who used me as the car advisor etc etc . Find another place to serve your Toyota . Your car , yourself and your family deserve better !

After getting my car towed in, I was told it could not be even looked at for over a week. It sat for a day untouched. It wasn’t until I went online and made a reservation for myself that anyone looked at the car. (There were plenty of appointment slots available.). I have never had such horrible customer service and I pray I never have a repair here again.

We were very happy with our purchase of a new RAV4 at Smart Toyota. Nathan, our sales person, was very non-pressure, while keeping the ball rolling to get the job done. Garret gave us a complete orientation of our new car, which was very much appreciated. We live 130 miles from the dealership, so most of our communications prior to purchase was done via email. Arrived early for 4 pm appointment for tire rotation and fluid check. It is more expensive to go to Smart. But at 4:15 my car us still sitting outside and person at service desk is rude when I inquire. I have purchased 5 new vehicles from Smart since 2010. Now considering taking all of my business elsewhere.

Absolutely avoid this place at all costs. I dropped my car off for something as basic as an oil and filter change, and less than two miles after picking it up, my tire pressure suddenly dropped to 9–10 psi. That’s not a coincidence — either gross negligence or someone tampered with my car. To make things worse, my brakes — which their "inspection report" claimed were in excellent condition — started making bizarre noises right after the service. When I called back, they couldn’t get me in for five days to look at a problem they likely caused. And get this — they said if it turns out not to be their fault, they'll hit me with an outrageous bill just to diagnose and fix the issue. Unbelievable. This shop is either incompetent or shady — or both. Keep your car far away unless you enjoy surprise issues, poor accountability, and being treated like a wallet instead of a customer.

My 1993 Toyota Micro-Mini-Motorhome died just as I got to Madison. Got towed to Smart on a Sunday night, and the next morning, w/o an appointment, David worked me in. Well before noon he had a detailed report, with pictures, of the problem with the ignition system, the parts needed, the delivery times, and the price to repair. He put me in for a loaner vehicle (brand new RAV4) and the repair was done on time, and a little under the quote. It has ran fine since. The picture is of their waiting area...custom coffee maker, fridges full of other drinks, semi-private laptop stations, and a very comfortable TV area. There was also a well equipped children's play area in a room with large windows and a door. Very nice touch for when it is busy. This was a very pleasant first experience there, and now I wonder why I bothered with the "other guys" South of them. Thank you David and Smart!

I came in for an oil change that was listed at $104. When I got my final bill, it was $124.29 with “miscellaneous charges” added on. I wasn’t given a clear explanation for the extra fees. I value good service and transparency, but unexpected charges leave a negative impression. It would be helpful if pricing was explained upfront so customers know exactly what to expect.

Had great experience with Smart Toyota yesterday and today. I called the dealership yesterday and told them I had an issue with my window not going up on my Toyota sienna. I do not live in Wisconsin anymore but was it in town visiting family for the holidays and had this issue with my van. Needed to get this repaired so I can get back home which is over 400 miles away and would have been a very cold ride with below freezing temperatures that we are experiencing this week. I talked with their service manager Peter and he was able to get me in for an appointment next day even though they were books solid and was able to order the parts needed and they were able to fix my van and have me back on the road and under 2 hours. Their assistant service manager Ian was great help today getting me checked in and keeping me informed on what the technician had found was wrong and how long it was going to be. Would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone. I had called a couple other dealerships and they couldn't get me in for a couple weeks.
