BEWARE OF UPSALES AND MANAGMENT!!! I brought my car into Sun Auto for a misfire on Cylinder 2 and paid $100 for their diagnosis. I was told by Mr. Land at the front desk that the issue was coolant inside Cylinders 1 and 2, and that I would most likely need a whole new engine. He explained their process as checking spark plugs, then spark plug wires, and if those are good, moving on to possible issues like a cracked head, blown head gasket, or cracked block. Based on this, I was quoted around $8,000 for an used engine replacement with 59,000 miles, which is more than my car is worth. This diagnosis left me stressed for over a week, thinking I’d either have to put a new engine in a car that wasn’t worth it or buy a new car altogether. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion from another shop. The difference was night and day. The second shop immediately showed me that the only issue was faulty spark plug wires. They even demonstrated the arc from the wire to the head and let me use a borescope to inspect the cylinders myself. There was no coolant in the cylinders at all. Sun Auto not only misdiagnosed my car, but their claim that the spark plug wires were “fine” was completely false and is confirmed through my diagnosis paperwork that was emailed to me from Sun Auto. When I confronted Adam, the acting manager, he said he would stick with Sun Auto’s diagnosis unless I provided the name of the other shop. He mentioned he would speak with his district manager about a possible refund, but ultimately refused because they would have had to consult with the second shop that fixed my car to in order to validate that the car was truly fixed after their diagnosis. And when I confronted them about Sun Auto’s failure to properly diagnose the spark plug wires in the first place, all I was told there was "nothing they could do." To be fair, I don’t necessarily believe this was just a simple mistake by the technicians. I believe this reflects a lack of integrity by the shop, especially when customers are at the mercy of a shop’s diagnosis and basing their decisions on that information. If I hadn’t had previous experience in the automotive industry, and if I hadn’t sought out a second opinion, I could have been pressured into spending thousands of unnecessary dollars on a problem that was as simple as replacing spark plug wires. Management should be focusing on honesty, training, and customer trust, not standing by false diagnoses or hiding behind excuses to avoid refunds. In short: Sun Auto misdiagnosed my car. They attempted to push an $8,000 engine replacement when the real fix was a simple set of spark plug wires. Their staff and district management were defensive and refused accountability. This was less about error and more about upselling at the customer’s expense. I cannot recommend Sun Auto. If I had not gotten a second opinion, I would have spent thousands unnecessarily. For anyone considering this shop, please reconsider or at the very least get a second opinion if you feel like they are trying to upsell you.

i have been to many mechanics over the years for my Honda crv 2003. Sun Auto puts the icing on the cake for organization and efficiency. i had my car towed there and gave them a call and the rest was history. They only needed to see my face when i went in to pay. Highly recommend.

I would give 0 stars if I could!!!! I had stopped by on the 27 of February to put air in my tire like I do whenever the air gets low. While I was waiting I overheard a tech had passed out and i believe the manager (a guy with glasses and different attire than the techs) kept saying “nobody better call an ambulance “. As someone in healthcare this is very concerning as people can pass out due to multiple reasons. It sounded like the other techs were all concerned because it happened out of nowhere. I have always referred people to Sun Auto for their great work and amazing work ethics, this completely has turned me away. If someone who doesn’t appear to actually work on the cars is not concerned for the health and safety of their techs then I no longer want refer people, go there myself, and want others to know that these poor tech aren’t cared for by the company/management. If I were one of their tech I would be concerned for my health and safety to still work for them after that incident. If they don’t care for their tech then I’m sure they don’t care about their clients

I have been to the St Rose location a few times for different reasons and they have always made sure that I left satisfied with what they’ve done. The whole process they have in place makes it all so easy. From making an appointment online and being able to drop off your car 24 hrs before your appointment. They also send you an email of their diagnostics to show you what needs or doesn’t need attention so you can determine for yourself if you would like them to check on other things. Adam their general manager is great, he has called me numerous times to let me know the status of my car to make sure that I understand what’s being done and where they’re at with the repair. If you’re looking for a piece of mind, give Adam and his crew a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

These guys were great! I showed up super early for my appointment but they were still happy to do my oil change on my car. The waiting area was clean as well as the bathroom and they keep some pretty funny movies playing so to dint get bored if you're there for a few hours. I used a coupon I found fur 60.00 bucks. Great price for full synthetic. Thanks !

This is my first time I've used this business since moving to NV 7 years ago and I am VERY impressed from start to finish. Employees were professional and courteous. My vehicle repair was extensive and with the exception of a telecommunications malfunction at the business, communication was prompt and thorough. Sun Auto even coordinated with my vehicle tow charge to be included in my service bill vs. having two separate invoices. I have no complaints and would highly recommend them to anyone and would advise going to them first going to the manufacturer's dealership, especially for an older vehicle which mine was.

No Vegas Act can Top these Showstoppers! Better than Advertised! Coworkers and friend suggested I visit this place almost a few months ago. Serviced my vehicle at their St.Rose Parkway location. They were professional and knowledgeable, Service Writer Paul asking detailed questions about the issue. The service was completed the same day, even earlier than they predicted. My car was returned to me cleaner than I expected, and the staff was friendly and trustworthy. It's refreshing to find a shop with such high integrity and great customer service. He avoided upselling unnecessary services. Moreover, they under promised and over delivered! The charges were fair + in-line with current market conditions. Loved the comprehensive photo-folio they include with companion, comprehensive 30 something point-inspection! The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They kept me informed in "real time" and text me when the service completed in shorter than expected duration. When movies were movies....music was music (not noise" in days that are no more....these guys are a throwback to when competence and professionalism reigned supreme. Recommend Sun Auto without hesitation or reservation.

So my Nissan Sentra took a dump near Cima Rd on the Interstate 15, heading back to CA! I had it towed to Sun Auto, and I had blown a rod, needed a new engine! This place came through for me! Within a week, Devon located an engine and had it installed! Outstanding service! This wasn't an overnight repair, and the mechanics took their time to make sure my engine was seeded correctly! Gross incompetence! I took my wife's car initially for an inspection and oil change. They listed detailed work needed. This included two new tires recommended. I asked about the other two and was told they were fine. I returned 5k miles later for another oil change. When I picked the care up they told me the tire lug key was missing, as they were going to rotate the tires. Not only was the rotation unnecessary but I would not have known they had lost the lug key and not put it back in it's box if not attempted. They acknowledged they had lost the key, the first aid kit with Mercedes was also gone. They said they would look for the key. In the meantime the tire had a flat. On returning they notified me that the tire could not be repaired as it was too old and rotten. So obviously their initial inspection was wrong as I would have gladly put four new tires on at the first visit. Also they could not put new tires on as they had lost the key specific with Mercedes models. They attempted to buy a new lug kit but the key was still not right and I had run all over town that afternoon picking it up for nothing. They were indignant that I was incensed and I was told I would have to go to Mercedes to get it fixed. So I spent a whole day of my time running around and going to Mercedes to get new tires and key. What a fiasco. They were unapologetic about the whole mess. They wanted me to think that the firing of their whole tire crew was good enough. Unprofessional, key and first aid kit stolen, unapologetic, and very costly. Highly recommend avoiding these people. Just when I thought I found a mechanic I could go to. A waste of time and money.

Friendly staff, honest pricing, & no hassle. I’ve brought my car here for service three times & am always met with kindness & honesty from the staff. I had a power steering line replaced three months & it unfortunately failed this weekend. However, Sun Auto got me in quickly & comped the replacement with no questions asked. I had honestly expected to have to advocate for the repair to be covered under warranty or to have them try to upsell me on other services. They’ve always been honest about what actually needs to be done versus what can wait. I appreciate the thoroughness of their inspections & their warranty on their services. Will be bringing my car back for any future issues for sure!

⭐️ 1 star — Waste of time, overpriced, and poor quality work I came in for an urgent oil change. The manager told me it would take up to one hour, but the reality was completely different. After 40 minutes, my car still wasn’t even driven into the garage — and there were no other cars and no line. Only after we started complaining did they finally move the car inside. Then it took another 30 minutes before they even lifted the car and started the oil change. It took about an hour just to pull the car in, which is unacceptable. After that, they spent around another 30 minutes changing the oil (or at least it looked like they were). This happened on my son’s birthday, and we had our day planned out — they wasted a huge amount of our time on an important day. We had no choice because the oil change was urgent. To make it worse, the service was more expensive than competitors, and I only chose this place because of the good reviews. Unfortunately, I regret it. The worst part: after we got home and parked the car, about 30 minutes later oil started leaking, and there was a large puddle of oil (I have a video). I really hope the car will be okay, but I do not recommend this shop. Expect long waits, higher prices, and poor work. Status update: I had to change the oil again at another shop, and they found that the original place installed the wrong oil filter. That caused the oil to leak out completely. The mechanic said I was lucky the engine wasn’t damaged. Support contacted me and promised a refund, but it never happened. I never received anything — just wasted my money.

I’ve been coming to this location for years mainly for oil changes which is why I provided some stars because that’s always been fine. I came in recently to have it looked at because I randomly had 6 lights pop up at once and wasn’t sure why. They did the free inspection and of course had a whole list of what was “wrong” with my car. I understand they have to make their money from a free inspection, but what I don’t like is feeling like I’m being taken advantage of. I know they see a girl come into a shop and think they can get over on us because we don’t know any better. I ended up only approving for them to replace my battery because I was certainly over due for that. The guy basically guaranteed that by replacing my battery, all the sensors on my dashboard would go away and they didn’t. I also had 2 other mechanics look over my car and they both agreed that a lot of the stuff they were saying was “urgent” and I shouldn’t be driving and to come back to have a $200 inspection done was bs. I’m in sales, so I understand these tactics but it still doesn’t feel great when someone tries to take advantage. This is exactly why women hate going to the mechanic shop alone, because this sadly happens all the time. Over all the people I’ve spoken to are very nice, just don’t try to scare people into getting things done right away that aren’t urgent just because you want to make a quick buck out of them. I also asked for a wheel alignment which they said I didn’t need, which I do. So basically they didn’t fix a single thing I came in for and replaced something completely different.

I took my car to Sun Auto this morning and asked to have a tune up and check my tires. Adam Wagner, the General Manager and all the crew were so friendly. I reallIty appreciated Adam for his honesty. He told me I didn't need anything else except the oil change. it's rare to find an auto repair company who will tell you honestly what you need or dont need. In the past, I have always had mechanics try to upsell me on everything. So, I truly appreciate Sun Auto Service. They also had my car finished within 2 hours. I will definately go back anytime I need my car serviced.
