Called to get an estimate on replacing a catalytic converter and O2 sensors. Person who answered never mentioned their company name or his, and when asked about cost he said you bring in the car and they will check the number. Not really sure what he was talking about as his English was a little hard to understand. Then he just hung up the phone! There are too many other shops around who I am sure that will be happy to take the time to earned my business.

Came in like 20 mins before closing, was looking to just get quoted, but he offered to perform the service same day, and we got it done right then and there. Awesome work, car sounds 10x better. Took my Toyota Tundra in for a catalytic converter replacement. I brought my own parts. The tech did the replacement (un-welding and re-welding) under 30 minutes at a reasonable price. No appointment needed. No hassle. No trying to tell me I need to replace this and that. Tech only accept cash. So, bring your cash. No paperwork. So, I don't know if there is warranty for the work done.

I took my old chevy for Mr. Tai to fit with dual exhausts. First impressions that he was very friendly and honest. I could tell he has been doing custom work forever and my project wasn't gonna be simple. Mr Tai immediately went to work on my car and quickly designed a system that fits perfect. Quoted me $360 for less than 30 mins worth of work. Saw that my car still had temp tags on it, so I feel like I was profiled. “New car? Guy must have money, let’s try to squeeze some extra coin out of him” Absolutely absurd and would probably be charged less at a Porsche dealership. If your shop time is worth $720 an hour then I should probably open my own exhaust shop!!!!

My rating is based on my unique muffler/exhaust needs. I have a very rusted and dilapidated truck that I only use a few times per year. The truck is not worth much $ and hence I don't want to spend much $ to keep it running for its limited life expectancy. The muffler (and most of the exhaust system) was rusted to the point that that the muffler blew wide open. The flanges on either side of the Cat were also heavily rusted as is most of the exhaust system. Since I only use the truck a few times per year and the truck is not worth much $, I was looking for the lowest cost repair possible. I would have attempted to replace the muffler myself but feared that any muffler clamps that I would use (I don't have a welder) would collapse the existing piping. I wrapped my existing muffler with a fiberglass blanket (used in ovens) and covered the fiberglass with sheet metal. This "repair" was just to get me to a muffler shop. Tai Tung was the closest to my location and I called and set up an appointment the next day for an estimate. I showed up at the scheduled time and the owner was waiting for me. He quickly lifted the truck (and he had a similar truck on another lift, presumably his personal truck) and did his inspection and determined that despite how rusted and compromised the entire exhaust system appeared to be, I would only need a muffler (for now at least). He said he could replace more of the system if I wanted but he also said he did not think it needed full replacement. He said he could do the muffler replacement and have it done while I waited. It took him only 20 minutes to remove, prepare and replace the muffler. Zero leaks, nice looking work, super fast and very honest about what needed to be done, which was just to replace the muffler. The new muffler appears to be an exact replacement to my OEM and nearly 37 year old muffler. No change to the tail pipe location and no changes made to the rest of the exhaust system. He has made it possible for me to keep the truck a while longer and did so by being honest and pragmatic about what was needed. He had all the parts on site and did the repair with what I feel was a very fair cost. I highly recommend Tai Tung due to my experience and situation.

Custom exhaust pipe created and installed in one hour. The one inch hole made a sound like an aircraft taking off. This is the third time small miracles have been performed for me, to the sound of trilling songbirds. My 30 yr old car then passed smog test with flying colors.
