I've been to see John twice now, and he's been prompt, professional, charged a fair price, and finished repairs when he predicted or better. I feel compelled to write this review particularly because he was able to turn my Van around in 24 hours with a new nox sensor and clear the "10 starts remaining" alarm in time for me to use my Sprinter for work, going out of his way to save me a bundle of time, energy and money. On a side note, John referred me to a tire shop (Redwood General Tire) that is also fantastic. Best tire shop I've ever been to.

Long overdue review of this place. We had our sprinter RV go into limp mode about 1h away on from Albuquerque. We started to call various repair shops all of which told us we could bring the van in 1-3 weeks into the future. AMS answered the phone and told us we could bring the van in the following morning and they would see what they can do. We did and by midday they had done a thorough inspection and gave us an estimate. By 3:30 they had us back on the road.

I am SO happy I found this place! AMS helped my old girl Venus (2006 Sprinter) put the Yee back in her Yee-haw! After a long roadtrip from NorCal to Wyoming the check engine light came on and they were able to diagnose and fix it within a couple days. Both gentlemen I interacted with were friendly and knowledgeable. Fair price for the bay area too 😁👍🏼 Overall I can't thank them enough! 5 stars!

I used to take my van to the local dealership, but was disappointed with the exorbitant pricing and miscellaneous fees for unneeded services. My 2021 Sprinter van had an odd front end problem. John diagnosed it in less than 30 minutes. It was an after-market suspension issue, so John did not fix it. He charged me for his actual time, not a 1-hour minimum. I would definitely trust him if I needed front end work. (Give yourself an extra 5 minutes to find the shop. It is also Alternative BMW Service. There were no Sprinters outside when I was there.)

I have only great things to say about John. I brought my Mercedes Sprinter van to get a few things fixed and he did a killer job. A few weeks later, I faced some different mechanical issues on the other side of the state and I texted back and forth with John who assured me that the van was safe to drive back to his shop. Not only John makes himself available at all times for his customers, but he also has great prices. I replaced the DPF and it cost $2500 less than at the MB dealership. 10/10 would recommend AMS!

I brought my ML350 in for a check-engine light. They diagnosed a failed ignition coil but said that all coils needed replacement and provided a parts quote that was significantly higher than market pricing. When I questioned this, there was clear resistance, and I ultimately told them to have only the failed coil addressed. They began the work but then stopped, stating there was oil on the wiring and instructed me to pick up the vehicle without completing the repair. Despite this, I was charged nearly twice the original diagnostic quote, and my car was returned unfixed. I took the vehicle to a Mercedes-specialist mechanic in Redwood City who confirmed the job was being over-quoted and had no issue addressing the oil on the wiring properly and only changed the failed coil. I’ve taken my cars to many auto shops over the years, and unfortunately this experience stood out for the wrong reasons. I would not return or never recommend this shop. Update: the response they provided is not accurate and this is a review for their business. It took me a long time to finally share my experience as I was still very upset about how they treated me at the time.
