I discovered this shop when my wife’s 2016 Kia Soul’s check engine light came on while driving to work and began running very very rough. This repair shop had consistently amazing reviews. Tim did a fantastic job of informing me of his shop’s capabilities and what was beyond their scope - I found this to be incredibly honest, something not often found with auto mechanics. I had the vehicle towed in and he had the issue diagnosed much sooner than I expected. He went over everything he planned to do, made suggestions and even physical showed me what the issue was when I came to pick her vehicle up. I was so impressed by the quality of work, his experience and communication with me through the entire process. I felt the price was extremely fair and he didn’t try to up-sell me on anything. He even went over the replacement parts and made additional recommendations. I was so happy with the process I’m planing on using them for regular preventative maintenance on my wife’s car and my Lexus. Thanks Tim, it is awesome finding an extremely knowledge mechanic that you feel you can trust.

Tim is great. I hadn't had my car on the road as much as usual so wanted someone to check everything out. Dropped it off in the afternoon and it was ready the next morning. Felt like I got an honest appraisal of the vehicle. He took the time to explain everything he looked into including the manufacturer maintenance schedule. Then he was realistic about what should be fixed instead of just giving me a list with prices. Really would recommend his shop for your auto needs.

When was the last time you spent $4500 on auto repairs and felt good about it. Got a quote from Tim for a fuel system repair that came in at half of what the dealer gave. Was so pleased with the outcome that I decided to have all of the life extending maintenance items I'd been putting off done as well. It was a great experience, and exactly what I needed to remotely manage the repair for my USF student's vehicle.

I have been bringing multiple cars to Tim to fix for over 5 years now. He has always hit the nail on the head with diagnosis and never charged me to fix something to find out later that a problem was still there. Tim even fixes things for free when he can. You do not see this very often this day and age. His recommendations are good and he does not need to make up stories to make money. He is honest and trustworthy. I recommend him to all my co-workers.

Went here to have an AC issue checked out. Had concerns with previous work completed on the truck. I was expecting possible major AC work. Tim ran a battery of tests and kept me updated each time with the results and what they meant. After a bunch of tests the issue was a minor one and an easy fix. I could have been told I needed a new AC compressor and wouldn't have known any better. Very honest guy. I will surely be back for auto services here.

I've been bringing my vehicle to Tim for a few years now. He is the most honest mechanic that I've met and you can tell that he cares for your car like it was his own. I had to get my mom's car serviced here (she lives over 2 hours away) when local shops didn't bother to look into the issue she was having with her vehicle. Highly recommend Tampa Bay Auto Care. After researching mechanics in my area, I decided to call Tampa Bay Auto care due to their positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't as pleasant as the rest. I spoke with Tim to only be asked, how I heard about him. Then he advised, appointments were two weeks out, then to, not taking new customers at all. He advised he would never get to go home if he took new customers and that he was over his head. He offered me to call around to other mechanics or to take my vehicle to the dealer. Thanks Tim! Great Experience!

Tim runs Tampa Bay Auto Care. I have developed a relationship with him as my car begins to "age", with the goal to get the car to a certain number of miles before having to buy a new car. Cars are depreciating assets, so my goal is to wring as much value as I can from my purchase. Tim get this and I think this is what makes his shop unique. Others here will talk about Tim as an excellent mechanic, which he is. The customer service and care is impeccable. But Tim's secret value is that he understands a car's inherent value over a period of ownership and he will partner with you to come up with a long-term "health" plan for your car to maximize that. This plan will be budget proportionate to the expected worth of the car, matched to your pre-determined mileage goal and it will require you to set aside maintenance "budget" for necessary upkeep, of course. But within that framework, Tim will concentrate primarily on the essential(s) to get your car to your stated mileage finish line and he will help you walk the tightrope of making sure repair expenditures don't become a sunk cost that outstrips the value of the car. This is HUGE for people who are looking to extract maximum value from their car purchase over "X" years. It requires clear communication on your part and an understanding this is not an exact science. But if you're flexible with that, Tim offers a strategic "plan" for managing the lifetime of repairs on your car, that no other place I know of even thinks about.

Tim and the guys at Tampa Bay Auto Care are fantastic. Highly recommend. I brought in my Acura for maintenance, including a timing belt replacement. Their communication was thorough from inspection, through the service, and all the way to completion. Similarly, their pricing was transparent. They provided an estimate of costs and identified other items that could potentially be at issue - none of which came to fruition. If you are considering a dealership, don't! If you are considering another mechanic in Tampa, don't. Tampa Bay Auto Care is a special place in this industry where you can trust the pricing and that the job was done well.
