I did not have a great experience here. I’d been using this shop as my go-to before KC Complete Auto Shop became Telle Tire & Auto Center but this was my first time bringing my vehicle in under the new ownership. I brought my car in after needing work done to replace the turbo on my Jeep a little while ago. I was initially given a quote over the phone that was significant but seemed reasonable, so I brought my car in after being led to believe it would take a day or two to fix. Due to staffing issues, nobody worked on my car at all the first day and they had only disassembled the part by the end of day two. I had to call at the end of each day to get any kind of update at all. The second day, I was told there were more problems than expected and send an official quote that was over triple the initial one. I couldn’t just take my car back either, because the turbo was still disassembled. In the end, I got it towed elsewhere and still saved money after getting much more affordable quotes on specific parts for the fix from the other shop. Even the tow was a struggle. I’d informed them the day before on when the tow truck would arrive, but their technician was late and the truck had to leave before he got there to ensure they got all of their tools and my car parts where they belonged. So I had to call another tow truck later. I know some of the staffing issues were outside of their control because a couple had called out for personal emergencies. But compared to my experience with a different shop, I felt like I was given poor service and quoted way too high on parts.

Just a Great Place. Accommodated me on a hood latch issue and was able to get oil change completed, which could have been a problematic….always on top of their game.

I had an 11am appointment for tire rotation and oil change. At 2pm still no call and they say till be an hour or more before they even start. If you have any time constraints, this is not your place. If you like not having you car for extended periods of time for small tasks this is your place.

I needed a tire repair and it was done in an hour even though they had someone call out of work that morning. I made an appt online the night before. They were nice and very reasonably priced. I will gladly be a returning customer!

They have the best staff! They are helpful, kind, and always patiently help me understand what’s going on with my car. It’s also super easy to make an appointment online. I’ve been going here for years, but now I’m super excited they’re close to a streetcar stop! Very helpful if you work along the route and need to drop your car off before heading into the office.

Was not impressed with service!!!! Felt like I was being set up to be rip off!!!! First off why are the windows in the shop darken so that you CANT see your car being worked on???!!! They didn't take you to your car and tell you specifically what needed work. Then they take you car for a ride out of your sight and wouldn't you know it you need an all new front in!!!! I had high hopes for Telle tires. Now I know I will NEVER RETURN RETURN THERE!!!

I have been a customer at this Telle Tire location a couple of times and have always had positive experiences in the past, which is why this latest interaction was so disappointing. Today, I called to schedule an appointment for my dad's car. I spoke with an employee named Dan and explained that I was unsure about the exact issue and needed the vehicle thoroughly checked. My experience with Dan was unfortunately very negative. He was impatient, demonstrated a lack of understanding of the situation, and maintained a consistently negative attitude during our conversation. He is the first person at this location with whom I have had a negative interaction. I hope that future staff interactions will meet the high standards I encountered during my previous visits.

Paid $50 for oil leak diagnostic. They did not find source and quoted me an additional $400 to open the manifold and continue search. They also provided an unsolicited quoted of $1000 for a new set of tires. They were admittedly short-handed, but I am pretty sure that I paid $50 for an 2-second lift and removal of my splash guard. Invoice description of service included mention of UV dye testing (0% chance this was performed). Disappointed and will likely not return.

Came here to get one of my tires replaced, had it done by the end of day and everyone was very nice. I came back in after I went to my car because my ABS light was still on, and I wanted to make sure that was ok and it wasn't dangerous, they were very helpful and told me to drive on it for a little and if it doesnt turn off then it's something that needs to be looked at, but it turned off 🥳 it was nice that they told me it could turn off and not just say it's something really bad to get extra money which has happened to me in the past. I will be back!!

My daughter from out of state hit a pothole and needed a damaged tire replaced and an alignment performed over the Thanksgiving Day weekend. Dan with Telle Tire on Main Street was able to help me get the tire I needed and the work performed at a reasonable price and all done on a Black Friday! Great responsive team at Telle! I’ll be using them again!

I was experiencing losing air pressure from my left rear tire. I stopped at Telle Tire on Main Street, Kansas City. I walked into friendly greetings and helpful people. I am so happy I did. They weren't sure if my tire could be repaired or if I had to get a new one but they worked on the old one and was able to make the repair. I and my pocket was very happy!!! Then they surprised me and told no charge!!! I've been searching for a car repair shop that would help me with the upkeep of my car. I think I have found them. Not because of the freebie, but by the way I was treated during my service. Thank you so much!!

Quality of parts was mentioned in some other reviews. See for yourself. Rubber caps on front struts. Previous ones lasted many years, and rubber aged as rubber does, without any chips on top of it. Went to change the struts just because I thought that parts could soon become unavailable for such an old model. I should not have done that, because even those old parts would have outlasted this. These rubber caps were all shiny when installed, and this lacquer or what started cracking within a year. Lacquer? Rubber painted over to look shiny and new? That is the way they look now, almost all of that gone, but you can see the remaining chips. And that is where almost $3000 went, as if they were genuine car maker's parts. So, now, what to think about the quality of other parts. Drive and fear. Take pictures of everything, before, during and after.

The inspection was thorough, but the recommended repairs for my 2006 GMC Envoy totaled over $6,000, which felt excessive for a vehicle of this age. When I asked for a quote limited to safety-critical items (passenger-side ball joints and a front wheel bearing), the revised estimate was still very high, including $379 for a single ball joint. The labor costs seemed reasonable, but the parts pricing was difficult to justify. I ultimately had the same work completed at a smaller independent shop and saved approximately $1,200. The staff was polite and professional, but I would recommend getting a second opinion if you have an older vehicle or are working within a budget.

Came in for what turned out to be a major repair -- unlike the prior two mechanics I brought it to, they both believed me and stuck with the repair process. Now, my car is back and works. PROS: -The work got done. -They were transparent about the price. -I like the fact that they guarantee the work. -Everyone I spoke to was polite, professional, and knowledgeable. CONS: -Diagnosing the issue, which only became apparent in the cold, took slightly longer than I think it should have, because they only managed to replicate the issue after leaving the car outside for several hours. Despite the fact that I listed off a "con" above, I'm still giving them 5/5, because they stuck with it when other mechanics didn't. That's very important, because it you've got a persistent issue you feel like you're going crazy.

Went in for the first time to get a oil change and got the royal treatment 🥰 the fellas in the shop were extremely nice, down to earth and knowledgeable. The shop is surprisingly clean (most shops arent) and the lobby is comfortable...they gave me a breakdown of estimated costs for future repairs...I am definitely coming back to get some major much needed work done on all of my cars. Good neighborhood shops are the best!!!

I took my car to Telle yesterday & had a great experience! Had a leak in my tire that I wanted taken care of. They sent me updates & even sent a pic of where they fixed the hole! I highly recommend them
