Couldn't be more pleased - a relief to find Mike and his team at Tenleytown Automotive. I built and restored cars with my neighbor growing up, so know enough to feel when I'm being taken for a ride. After many states and cities, so happy to find a shop that has clear communication, fair and transparent prices, no pressure to do $$$ work. They diagnosed a sensor issue with our tire and did a full inspection of the car. We got a complete report with pictures and written descriptions - not just random codes, three word explanations or abbreviations. Mike then called and we reviewed the report together and focused first on safety. His knowledge and experience was evident when discussing each line on the report. There were no "probably should replace this filter" it was instead an explanation of the state of the filter, priority level, how they would go about resolving the issue (I bring up filters because we've had them swapped before and was very aware of what he was describing and was blown away when he said that not only do they swap the filter for the cabin but they also clean and sterilize the filter box, the duct work, all the way to the vents in the cabin. In the past, I've watched mechanics just take the old out and drop in the new one) if they take this level of detail on something as simple as fresh air in the a/c system, then I know the care and detail will extend to all the systems of the car. We needed to bring the car back after service to get something tweaked and the professionalism and customer service I frankly have not experienced before at any place of business let alone an automotive shop. Got a customer for life.

I regularly use Tenleytown Automotive - I get really personalized service. Most recently I have what seemed like a serious problem caused by the "snow-crete" and dropped off the car without an appointment late on Saturday because I feared I would otherwise need a tow. TA called me Monday morning, fit me in that day, and discovered that the problem was minor, charging me only the minimal fee for looking into the issue. You are in good hands here.

Very prompt and courteous service. It’s the first time I’ve tried to have my oil changed at anything other than my original Mercedes-Benz, dealer. They did a wonderful job certified the maintenance and the staff across the board is always courteous if I need my air in my tires filled I go in they don’t charge me which is a huge help to me because it’s a special education teacher. I drive a lot of miles. I especially appreciated the manager telling me when I was checking in about the service and he began to understand my situation he recommended a little Internet café, just around the corner. Sure enough this Internet Café around the corner. It was far more than an Internet café. It was a cozy charming place that offered baked goods and other treats the usual Broadway of coffee but the bake tricks I just had to have it. It was a croissant with tuna fish delicious with some small Japanese flavoring in it delightful and cheese and lettuce for under $10. So I was able to sustain myself in a delightful way very economically and I was able to continue doing both my work from home job and my job as a full-time employee, special education teacher, the matter in which he set up my account was extremely thoughtful and effective I got reminders. I had an appointment that suited me, it really above and beyond any expectation that I might have of an independently owned Exxon station. So yes, five stars are well merited, and the folks the next day were just as courteous. I had to take a call and I needed a pin didn’t have one handy and they just handed me a pin. I fell in love with the pin! It had just the kind of flow and fine lines that I love to use to make notes and draw. Complimented them on the pin and they said oh please take it. We have many more in the back. I said I’ll find a reason to come by more often. So all five stars are definitely merited for these and other reasons to lengthy to describe here. I unreservedly recommend this garage and gas station is the place to go and it’s just a few blocks from my home. PS: so is the Café and I had no idea existed! Thank you so much for making my day very workable and taking care of but often feels like tedious maintenance on the car.* * * * *+++++

My car broke down and Tenleytown Auto was the closest repair shop so I had it towed there. Ultimately the repairs were not worth it, given the ago and condition of my vehicle, so I had to get rid of it. But over the course of two to three days, Phil and was extremely patient with me as I arranged for the car to be picked up. He was honest and generous, even though he ultimately got no business from me, other than the initial diagnostic fee, which I'm sure did not cover all the time he spent documenting the dozens of issues my car had. I was very impressed. Next time I have a problem with a car, I am going to take it there.
