I’ve taken time to reflect before writing this review, because I wanted to be completely fair. Initially, my experience at this shop seemed positive — the staff were friendly, communication was good, and I felt confident in their service. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until another mechanic finally resolved my issue that I realized how deeply problematic my experience here truly was. 1. A Misdiagnosis That Cost Over $1,000 I paid for a diagnostic and received a list of repairs they said would address the issue. I approved the work in good faith and spent over $1,000 — only to later learn that none of it was related to the actual problem. When the check-engine light returned, they wanted to charge me again to “re-run” the diagnostic they had already performed. In other words, I paid for a fix that didn’t fix anything. Mistakes can happen, but this one was costly and preventable. 2. The Owner’s Unprofessional Conduct What truly soured my experience was what happened next. When I dropped off my car, my brand new radio worked perfectly, verified by dash-cam footage recorded during their test drive. When I picked it up, it was dead. Under “Duty of Care in a Bailment for Mutual Benefit”, the shop is legally responsible for any damage that occurs while a vehicle is in their custody — a point my attorney later confirmed. When I brought this up to the owner, instead of a professional conversation, I was met with hostility, defensiveness, and accusations that I was trying to “trap” them. It was an astonishingly unprofessional response. Another mechanic later found the problem: a single disconnected wire — a simple issue that likely occurred during their work. Final Thoughts My issue isn’t the issue with the radio or even the misdiagnosis — it’s the complete lack of accountability and unprofessional treatment from the owner. I had hoped for honesty and fairness, but left feeling disrespected and dismissed. I share this review so others can make an informed decision. Friendly staff or not, professionalism and integrity start at the top — and in my experience, that’s where this shop failed.

I want to say thank you! I spoke with Mike he was very helpful. My car all of a sudden was loosing oil. I brought it in the following morning. They did a diagnostic test on the vehicle and turned out it was a super simple fix. I so appreciate their honesty. He did inform me about some other things I’ll need to address with photos. If you want a trustworthy, affordable mechanic then look no further! After being gaslighted and over-charged by another mechanic who did shotty work on an "easy" brake/rotor/caliper job, I came to see Nick when my car felt like the wheels were going to fall off. Not only did he fix the loose/missing bolts that the other mechanics had done, but he fixed the new issues for a 1/3 of the price they had quoted me. He did an extremely thorough diagnostic and had a helpful color coding system to show me what desperately needed fixing, should be fixed but could wait a while, or was just something to keep in mind. Nick and his outfit were a breath of fresh air. He's my new "car guy" and I'll be recommending him to anyone and everyone that needs a reliable quality mechanic!

I had trouble with my Honda Element’s ignition system and had it towed here. They first tried to diagnose and fix the problem, before having to get my approval to fully replace the system. The repair was done in one day, and the pricing was very fair for the high quality service. Mike was very patient with me while I was trying to pay and my cards kept failing. I would love to give a shoutout to this establishment. I own a 2005 Honda CRV and received an unbelievable and ridiculous estimate from South Tacoma Honda and needed a “second opinion” !! Mike at The Car Guy got me set up for an estimate. They ended up doing the work for 1/2 the price, not agreeing with some of the original estimate and actually found something NOT on the estimate that was critical. I have been back again (months later) and still find them honest and efficient. I recommend this place highly for car repair.

No complaints. I came for a second opinion and they charged me about the same price but did way more work than another shop. Super happy with the service and the work that was done. I will definitely be going back to get the suggested work done. I had to get a timing chain replacement and some gaskets replaced after they noticed an oil leak in places that the other shop didn't mention or find. They're diagnostic is top tier.
