Took my 06 Element in for service. They provide excellent service and advice for competitive rates (and WAY cheaper than the dealer). They would only service items that NEEDED service, they found a few items that I was unaware of in their thorough service check, all repairs were professionally done, and I was consulted at every step in the process. Clintonville is lucky to have them. I will be back.

My wife and I bring our cars here after receiving a recommendation from a family member and they’ve always done a nice job over the past few years. Jocelyn is extremely knowledgeable and their pricing is competitive. They’ve received high ratings and service awards on Angie’s List which is more indicative of the service level then the average rating here as of this posting. Particularly if you drive an import (Toyota, Honda, Nissan, etc.) this is a great place to bring your car.

Very poor experience. Service done for issues with starting car , charges almost $600 , car wouldn’t start the same day called was told to have car towed back . Requested to speak with mechanic denied . Long story short issue discovered by another mechanic went back to speak with Tongda as the issue involved what I had initially paid them to service and all I received was an argument from the front desk( in front of another customer ) . Sent an email to discuss issue with owner and never received a response .

Very poor experience with customer service and store owner of this auto shop. I've asked for estimate and inspection for my car. Then I was charged for unauthorized work done to my car that I ended up was forced to pay otherwise I can't get my car back. I've tried to talked to the mechanic and was denied by the store owner. Don't recommend if you want a smooth experience.

Love these guys. Saved me a small fortune with their pre-purchase inspection service; they really go over their cars with a fine-tooth comb. Their prices are fair and reasonable, and I genuinely believe they are honest about what they find and what they can do. If they don't know something off the top of their heads, they'll do some research and get back to you. And Jocelyn has always been incredibly pleasant to work with! If you would rather do business with a local mechanic shop than a big dealership (although they do sell some cars!), then I would highly recommend TongDa 👍.

Very poor customer service and not knowledgeable. Lady did not understand anything about car parts. PLENTY OF PLACES IN CLINTONVILLE that are much better options. They can't even give you a ballpark estimate on something because they have no clue what they are doing . I had called multiple other places and they were able to understand within seconds. Absolutely embarassing establishment .

I never take my car ANYWHERE ELSE for service. Jocelyn and her family always take care of us, are honest about their work, and clear about what needs to be fixed. We recently found a nick in our tire (not originally from Tongda) on Christmas Eve. I called Christmas Day, and they had us in by the morning of the 26th. While they didn't have a tire our size in stock right then, they called around to get one locally. We mentioned that we needed to be out of state as soon as possible since we were only back in Ohio to visit family. We were able to get it all taken care of the next day, with updates on how far away the tire was from the shop so we weren't waiting around. I love how transparent they are, I never feel like I am being taken advantage of when I come in service. I could not reccomend them more.

PSA: TO EVERYONE LOOKING FOR A REPUTABLE Auto Repair and Body shop (who doesn’t know anything about cars like myself) I have been going to Tom & Jocelyn for help over the past seven years, and can tell you that they are the best in Columbus for their character and integrity in what can be a some what shady industry. I don’t know anything about cars, but I’ve needed a: -Replacement Hood -Front Light replacement -Tune-Up -Battery Issues/Replacement -Oil Change -Overall body work Earlier this week my car wouldn’t start. I called in and spoke with Tom (owner) who both coached and advised me over the phone on how to find information on my battery, likely causes of why my car wasn’t starting even after jumping, etc. I experienced this again today, and Tom told me to come in and took a look under the hood, and helped me get my car restarted (it had died again). I was running late to a meeting, and Tom helped me solve/ballpark the issue (again, no idea what my warranty covers and what it doesn’t and if I needed to go into a dealership or not). He spent 30 minutes talking to me & assisting me - even letting me borrow the jumper cables & power so that I could get back to my work meeting. I took out my wallet and he denied payment immediately, telling me that trust is the most important trait of a relationship. Tom is incredibly friendly with a good, genuine heart. He doesn’t do any repair work that doesn’t need to be done. DO NOT PAY ANY ATTENTION TO NEGATIVE FEEDBACK - I saw a post regarding not being able to diagnose or ballpark pricing over the phone. Not my experience, and highly doubt this to be an accurate representation of how the call actually happened.

We put the car in the repair shop on Monday, and then they replied to me at 6:00 pm on Friday to tell me what parts needed to be replaced. Otherwise, I would not get the parts on Monday. We mentioned that the price was too high, which may have caused dissatisfaction. But when I wanted to confirm the price, he asked me if there was any book I didn't understand to look up the dictionary. There were two inspection fees during the period, the first inspection and the second inspection. The inspection fee was 400 US dollars, and I agreed. But I don't believe in their level at all. The service attitude is very poor. I can feel their insult to us. We are willing to pay any fee because we are different and do things according to conscience.

I stopped by this shop on Saturday afternoon after a wedding at a church close by, desperately needing air in my tire for the car my sister was driving. I thought - a local independent shop would be more than willing to help - word of mouth is the best way to get customers, plus i have Japanese vehicles that will eventually need serviced. I pulled the car close to the garage door. The mechanic, who was very nice, said “go talk to the boss” The person that greeted us in the parking lot was more concerned where my sister was instead of understanding why i needed help. She said it was $15 for air. I told her “shame on you”, and left. They aren’t interested in helping someone in need. Go elsewhere in the area, there are other independent shops that won’t treat you poorly.

I was sold a car that had three oil leaks and a transmission fluid leak. They told me to try Stop Leak, and I appreciated being given a cheap solution rather than being told to spend thousands of dollars on repairs. Since they'd been helpful in that regard I wanted them to do my maintenance. The first oil change was super expensive; and then the second time they didn't put the oil drain plug back on. I lost all my oil on the drive home, which stained our new concrete driveway and our entire street. They wouldn't even give me a refund on my oil change.

SCAM i am so incredibly displeased with this place. they misdiagnosed my car twice and then told me there was nothing they could do. they held onto my car for the better part of 10 days and promised to update me on what was wrong... they never reached out to inform me of anything besides when i called them. they told me they had done ~some~ work to my car and were going to buy parts. later when i called i was told they cancelled the order and that there was nothing they could do but they kept my money. there was no update on their end of what the plan was until prompted. i asked the place that ACTUALLY fixed my car if what TongDa said they did was factual. aside from whatever literal mess they made inside of my car, there was nothing they could tell that was done. the place that fixed my car also told me that the aforementioned mess is the reason why they misdiagnosed my car the second time. do not bring your automobile here, it has become apparent they do not know what they're doing or simply do not want to put the work in. the actual fix was simple and not the $1000 price tag TongDa made me put a down payment for. anyway, all that to say: they put me in a worse position than it could have been.
