I have been here twice and they’ve been extremely helpful and honest. I have an old car beyond repair. I brought it in today and they explained my best options without throwing money away on an unsafe car, charged nothing, and gave advice on next steps. Highly recommend Tony’s!

Very friendly and professional. Just got in from out of town and had a starter go out on me on a Friday just after 11am. Thought I was going to be stuck until Monday or Tues. The guys at Tony's were able to fix the problem and get me on my way by Friday evening. The price was around what I expected to pay (on the higher end of the scale). No one expects or likes having a car repaired. If you are lucky your car breaks down in front of your house or near a reputable, honest, mechanic. I was in a vulnerable situation without a lot of options...thanks guys for making an awful situation sting a little less.

I called Tony from the side of the road when my car overheated during rush hour traffic and he was so accommodating! I got my car into the shop and within five minutes, he knew what the problem was and how to get it fixed. He was transparent and realistic about how long the work would take, communicative during the whole process, and gave me an accurate quote for how much the part/work would cost. Thanks for your honesty, timeliness and hard work!!

I can’t say enough about Tony’s Auto Service. I have always experienced timely repairs at a reasonable price, a fast turn around and efficient labor. The shop is inside the 495 beltway; in Old Town Alexandria, easy to reach to drop offs and pickups. Dustin has taken a particular responsibility of all the problems I have with my buses.

I first went to Tony's in the early 1980's. Sadly, I strayed away and ended up with a mechanic I liked but didn't realize the shop he worked for was charging ridiculous prices. Smartly I returned to Tony and his place. They are always upfront, call me if things aren't going smoothly, invite me to come down and see what they're talking about and then resolving the issue. I have never been pressured and always feel welcome. And I have brought them things that most places would tell you to take elsewhere. Highly, highly, recommended.

I took my car here to get an estimate on a quick fix, for a bracket holding my muffler in place. The last place I went to said it would cost $17, but I moved a month later and didn't end up having time to get it fixed. In the area I saw Tony's had good reviews. I took it Tony's to see how much it would cost them to fix it, they told me it would be $100-$150. So honestly I don't know how good their service is, but I might worry about getting a fair price.

My company ( Fast Transportation) has bought recently 2 buses and Tony’s was recommended by a friend. Dustin is the one in charge when it comes to commercial vehicles. Dealing with him is the way to go. He knows his stuff, is very reliable and delivers. I am very happy I found these guys and I won’t go anywhere else anytime soon. I also want to mention the outstanding customer service provided by Pete at the front office. Thank you guys. It’s a pleasure dealing with you.

Love Tony's Auto Shop! I stumbled upon it as we had recently moved down the road, but have discovered so many of my friends also go to Tony's. The service is fast and they don't press me to do unnecessary things for my old car. I really appreciate everyone who works there and my VW is in great shape.

I was out of town and my check engine light came on and the car started making a rattling noise. I bought it to Tony's to be checked out and from the moment I stepped in the shop they were pleasant and courteous. I explained the issue and I was told I would get a call to tell me what the issue was. Andy called within the time frame that he said and explained the issue. He told me he would get done what I needed to get me home which is about 2 and 1/2 hours away. My car was fixed in a good amount of time and he told me what I needed to have my home mechanic check out. The cherry on top is that the next day he texted to make sure the car ran well and I got home.

I have a mixed review - what started with disappointing correspondence ended better than expected, though a day late... I was warmly greeted when I brought my SUV in for repair of an oxygen sensor and annual emissions inspection on a Friday morning. I received a phone call as well as an email with an estimate for the work later that morning. I cannot call out from work so gave approval to do the work by email. Late that afternoon I called and spoke to Tony himself to tell him I would not make it there by 7pm to pick up my car but would be there at 8:30 in the morning, to which he replied that they would have the work completed for me and the car on the street. When I arrived the next day I was told the work was not completed because I did not return their phone call... they had only run the diagnostic. There was a local power outage that morning and I was told they could not open the garage door to get my car out (no emergency opener?) and bring it back that evening. I was disappointed as again I would have to take a very long Metro ride to work, which takes 1 1/2 hours to get home after a long day of physical work. I arrived around 7pm that evening and was warmly greeted, the work was reviewed, and my car was out of the garage and on the street ready to go with the required inspection certification. As I drove home I was absolutely delighted to see that they had also repaired my drivers side mirror (it had been hit recently and did not move)! So I ended up a very happy customer, and will return for any other service I need - but will make sure the communication is very clear!

We have brought all our cars to Tony's for years. The work is excellent, the price is right and above all, they are honest. I have brought in cars I had a concern with and had them assure me nothing was wrong and send me away with no charge! Any other garage would have found SOMETHING wrong.

I first went to Tony's in 2013 and they did an amazing job, fixing my car. Their prices were better than other places I talked to, and they didn't try to sell me on things I didn't need. I've since moved across town and earlier this year went to a dealership for repair work instead of Tony's. What a mistake! I was asked to buy parts that didn't even belong in my car, and frankly I didn't know better. I had a gut-feeling something was off so I brought my car back to Tony's and they told me what was really wrong (which saved me from wasting nearly $2k!) and had me out the door in a few hours. They don't take appointments, and it's first come, first serve but their process works well. Rest assured I won't be taking my car anywhere else! Their team and the service is simply outstanding!

I take my car to Tony's exclusively. They have taken care of everything over the years, from oil changes to replacing the transmission. When I bought my car in 2008. it had 50k miles on it. Today it has 206,387, thanks to Tony's. Just this week we drove to Canada and back in the same car with no problems. They know what they are doing, prices are reasonable, staff is helpful and friendly and I'm always confident in the work they have done.

I'm a proud to be a long-time customer of Tony's because they always provide excellent service every single time I bring my vehicles in, before the pandemic started and now during Covid. I've always been impressed with the service and care I receive but more so during these unique times because of the safety protocols they are using. Wow. Fantastic service. I had gone to another auto shop near where I live for them to diagnose and give me a quote on what was needed to fix. The car was not in the best drivable condition with the issues that it was having and I just had it in my head that this shop could fix it, no problem. After spending far too much at the other auto shop only to diagnose (nearly $200) - I was given a quote that was out of range of my budget for that month ($$$$) I don't know why I didn't go to Tony's Auto Service in the first place - it's closer to my apartment and I walk by the back of the shop multiple times a day. They're always polite and friendly. I called Tony's and asked for a quote based on the information that was provided to be from the other shop. I was in shock. Tony's quoted me 50% less than the other shop for the same exact work. Actually it was a bit more than 50% less ($$$). Dropped off my car in the AM, had a full quote emailed to me, called to confirm pricing, and picked it up that afternoon. Every person I spoke to there was kind, considerate, and didn't make feel like an idiot for knowing nothing about cars. The entire transaction was smooth and easy. I will definitely be taking my car to Tony's from now on and referring to them if ever asked. Fantastic service.

I can't say enough. I brought my car in for a second opinion on an expensive service. I learned that the issue was normal and, until I see the symptoms of the problem, I should just continue driving as usual. Kris, who works in the office, was incredible with the way he could just talk about my car off the top of his head. The shop saved me from a $1500 unnecessary job. A very professional shop, and I am glad I found them.

Professional and reasonably priced. But not at all helpful in terms of knowledge. My vehicle didn't pass inspection and needed special work done. When I asked them which shops in the area do this work, multiple employees replied "we have no idea" repeatedly. How do you NOT know? That's like a doctor referring me to an optometrist and then saying he has no idea where to find one. Thanks for the help. And because my vehicle didn't pass inspection (which was good for another 2 months) they ripped off all my stickers. How am I supposed to get my vehicle to another shop if I don't have inspection stickers displayed?
