One of the only places in Bellingham I trust to work on my vehicles. I’ve taken my ‘94 K1500 and my ‘93 Blazer here for work and they were always communicative, honest, and kept me involved in the process. Would recommend them. I also appreciate that Lindsay takes you back into the shop to see the work they’re doing so you can better understand the diagnosis and your vehicle and they always get things done in a timely manner.

I don’t like writing reviews but service was terrible from the new owner. My family has been going to Trottners for over 25 years and today I went in for an oil change which I made an appointment for. It took over four hours when I was told it would be two hours. When I asked how much longer two and a half hours after waiting, I found out they had not started yet. They then blamed me because “I didn’t communicate with them” about my previous commitments. There is no reason why (with an appointment) it should take over four hours for an oil change. (I’m sorry for not telling you my whole Monday plan).The receptionist was very kind but the new owner lacks customer service Trottners once valued. They lost a customer today and continuing like this, they will lose many more.

Excellent service and super timely. We were next door with a 94 F150 and learned the trans was a $$$ fix. Before spending the $ we asked Trottners to go through the truck to help us make a decision - to keep it or move on. The y coordinated grabbing the truck and got it in the same day. I didnt have to take time out of my day. Gave us bids and their opinion. I'd go back for sure!

I’ll preface by saying the staff was great, super friendly and polite. I brought in a 2000 Nissan Xterra with a lot of miles on it that I had purchased for my son. It had two codes with check engine light. One was distributor and the other was knock sensor. I dropped it off in the morning and got a call late afternoon saying it needs a new motor. $10,000. I was told that they only did a pressure check on the cylinders. I got a second opinion through a mobile mechanic they switched out a Fuel injector on cylinder one. And now the car runs great. A little annoyed Trottners didn’t really do a whole lot to fix something that a Mobile mechanic fixed in three hours.

Just had some recent major maintenance work done on my car here at Trottner's and had a great experience. I can always trust them to give me honest info about what needs to be done and over the years have never had a problem with any of the work that they've done. In my experience it can sometimes be hard to find people you can count on with mechanical work, but the people at Trottner's have never let me down.

The staff at Trottners went above and beyond our expectations. My brakes began scrapping loudly just as I arrived at the Canada /US border. We found them by the grace of God, without much help from our GPS in the afternoon one day before a long weekend. I was pleasantly surprised when they said “sure we’ll take care of that” and could have it done before the weekend. They did as they said and even replaced my windshield wipers I had remembered needed changing 1/2 hour before I came to pick it up. The price was fair and excellent service. What more can you ask for. Thank you.

They charged me $1,300 to replace several parts that were not necessary to address my engine code and another corresponding code. I left the lot and it came back on, immediately. They offered to do $700 more worth of labor/parts to "fix" the problem and lied to me and said the initial corresponding code was "cleared". Fortunately, I did not trust them by this point and I got the code checked elsewhere only to find they never did anything to address the code that was causing the engine to run lean in the first place. A simple Google search and I find the initial code is obviously the issue and a very common problem. As a woman some of you might say I deserve this as I "should" know more about vehicles but the problem is I am too busy making sure that I am adhering to the ethical and professional standards of my own career that it never occurred to me that "professional" auto mechanics have none. I did end up fixing my car myself anyway.

I brought my vehicle in on a Friday because my check engine light was on and blinking. After about an hour of diagnostics, the office clerk told me the issue was the spark plugs and wires. We agreed to the $700 repair, expensive, but I needed my vehicle running. Several hours later they told me my car was ready, but that it still had “other codes.” I paid the $700+ and got into my car, only to find it was running just as rough and the check engine light was still blinking. I hadn’t even left the lot yet, so I went back inside. They told me they “ran out of time” and to bring it back Monday. Any mechanic knows it’s unsafe to drive a car with a blinking check engine light. I left because they weren’t offering any real solution. Less than 5 miles away, my car lost all power in a roundabout. I called them back, upset and concerned, and the office manager told me I was “being dramatic.” I took the vehicle to another mechanic on Monday, and two of the supposedly “brand new” spark plugs were cracked.

I brought my car to these folks and they decided that the vibration in the front left side was a bad mid shaft axle or intermediate axle, ended up being a bad left front tire which les schwab gave me for free because they suggested going to trottners. They, Trottners cost me $800.00 + tax for nothing also screwed up my ABS system when they did the work.

Trotters is my go-to. Until I started bringing my vehicles here, I never walked out of a mechanic planning to go back, nor have I ever gotten... well, kind of attached. The staff there are amazing. Lindsey is the best and so genuine and kind. They remember their customers and truly care. They also do affordable and reliable work, are honest and transparent with costs, and if they need to do something expensive or are concerned something might break, they will take you back, show you why, make sure you understand why, and wait for your approval. Each time I take my car there, they send me with recommended maintenance based on the diagnostic, as well, which is really handy for me as someone that is not the best at keeping my vehicles maintained. They never make me feel judged me for that, either, haha, even if they are amazed I was even able to get my car there because I waited until the last minute. They also send me reminders about oil changes, and as a person with ADHD, I can't place a value on reminders, but I get these for free. If you're in the Woburn/Iowa area, I can't recommend this shop enough. If you aren't in the area, I still can't recommend them enough.
