Tuffy is definitely my neighborhood fix it shop and I wouldn't want it any other way. Their care is personal! I had a warranty claim... we'll call it that. Not much of a warranty and they gave my Tuffy guys a difficult time. So I took over communication with said warranty company, whilst sitting in the waiting room. Now mind you these are incredibly busy men and this shop is know for their precise excellence with you and your automobile. The care they had for me, did not diminish. As I was getting important information to them, they seemingly took care of other customers and answered the phone all while taking care of me, at the same time, without missing a beat. Their level of multitasking is off the charts. I mean I was shouting to them about what the warranty company was saying to me and together with a shop full of people, a garage full of automobiles, and a parking lot full of new jobs... I mean AMAZING attention to detail in the office and in the garage! Their main mechanic rocks. He is super efficient. Once the repair order is in he's got your vehicle covered and in no time your back on the road. L J and Scott worked on my warranty case diligently and I worked with them every step of the way. It's super important to listen to their suggestions because they don't BS, if it can wait they'll let you know. If you can't afford it, they'll work with you the best they can to lesson the burden on you. Just talk to them give them a chance to figure it out with you. They are my neighborhood Tuffy, dependable, reliable, honest, treats every human being with respect, and isn't there to rip you off. I appreciate the time and dedication they paid to my warranty claim. My warrenty company was hard to work with and required the same information sent several different times with a small tweek here or there. Needless to say it got tiresome and I know that. The key is that I never felt that. My automobile sat in limbo for several days and I was always met with patience and gratitude. I know it was difficult to work with them, but together we figured it out. In the end my sweet 🍒 🌹 is home. I never once felt rushed or as if my issue wasn't any less important than the job ahead of me or behind me. This shop plays a fair game and there's no reading between the lines. If you want to see your faulty parts to examine the issue they are most definitely going to show you and explain to you where it broke and what was entailed to fix it. I hope my neighborhood Tuffy becomes your neighborhood Tuffy. Everyone deserves a fair deal for a fair price, remember communication is key. Trust comes from the same great outcome everytime and thats what you'll get from our neighborhood Tuffy.

As a woman, I have been talked down to about car maintenance my entire life. I am sure I have paid for things that weren't really a problem because mechanics assume correctly that I don't know what the hell is going on with my car. I could read and practice and learn, but there are professionals like the people at Tuffy that keep me from opening a book. I have been coming to this Tuffy for years now for free air in my tires when the weather drops and other things that have come up. The staff is honest and I always feel respected and never pressured to do unnecessary things for my car. I was losing air pressure on a tire and took it in. Davon was quick and lovely with patching a nail that was in there! I went away smiling and driving smoothly. I have never had a bad experience here and will tell anyone who will listen to go here for all their car needs.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I took my car to Tuffy’s on Pennsylvania (location) for a water pump and serpentine belt, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier with how it went. Scotty, the manager, is a solid guy, easy to talk to, straight up, and you can tell he actually cares about his customers. The whole team was cool too. Everyone was polite, checked on people while they waited, and even offered me some water. This place isn’t just tires or mufflers like some people think, they really do everything. What stood out to me most is that I never felt pressured or like I had to watch my back. No weird mechanic vibes, no sales games. I was relaxed the whole time, which says a lot. The work was done quick, the price was right, and the people were genuinely good to deal with. I’ll definitely be back. This is my new home shop.

I had the best experience with Tuffy in South Lansing. One of my rear shocks decided to full snap in the middle of my commute home, so I called Tuffy and they told me to bring the car in. I took it in first thing in the morning and they had it back to me, fully fixed and driving better than it had before, all before the end of the day. Beyond that, everyone I interacted with was kind, professional and pleasant to talk to. I'll definitely be coming back the next time my car needs anything!

I had contacted this location on a busy Saturday at about 10AM after trying to get ahold of a handful of other mechanics and mechanic shops that all told me they were too busy and some others told me they couldn’t assist with the issue. Scott had told me that he was more than happy to help and do an inspection and to drive it over to his location (I am over an hour away) when I got there he was extremely busy but still more than happy to fit me into his schedule. I explained that I had went to another tuffy’s location near where I live and they had messed up some work they had done, I was told that it was warranty covered and no matter what tuffy’s location I went to it would be covered. The location near me is an independently owned location and the one in Lansing is corporate I believe, Scott and his workers had let me know that even though my location was independent they were more than happy to help even though it wasn’t necessarily there fault/responsibility which was a huge relief. While I was waiting for them to get to my vehicle I had a conversation with a lady in the waiting room who was having a PPI done, she had nothing but amazing things to say about Scott and his establishment. When he was ready for my vehicle he came up to me and asked if we could go for a quick test drive around the block to diagnose the issue that I was having, which I was extremely pleased with I have not had many good experiences with mechanics especially ones that take their time with the customers and make sure the issue that they are having is taken care of. We had went on the drive and he immediately could hear the issue I was having and said he was almost positive he knew the culprit, we had gotten back and he said it would be not very much longer he just had to hoist it up. Soon after he hoisted it up he had come to the waiting room and asked if I would come and look at what he was seeing and what he believed the issue was, this gesture was also amazing and not something that I see from many mechanics now-a-days, it was very relaxing and calmed my anxiety a-lot and kept me at ease. I had sat back down and waited a few more minutes and he than came back in an asked if I would step into the garage once more, he then showed me what it was he fixed, how he fixed it and why it was causing the issue/sound that it was. After everything was said and done, I was waiting for my car to be hoisted down and to get my car key, and to see how much I will owe for the work, Scott had told me not to worry about it and it was no big deal, even after taking up about and hour or so of their time he still took care of my issue with no charge. I more than recommend this tuffy’s, as a first timer from out of town, I was treated as regular/family. I will most definitely be returning and giving them more business in the future regardless of the hour drive. And I heard Scott be shredding the slopes

Since living in Michigan I have gone back to this Tuffy location any time I have had issues or needed to do maintenance on my car . From the start of getting my brakes done they were understanding and reasonable with the price . I knew I could trust the manager Scott and his team . They took the time needed to get the job done right even if it meant they would have to refer me to a dealer due to it being a dealer only part . Best auto shop I have been to in Lansing hands down. I needed a tire patched and call them up thinking they would maybe be able to help me in a day or two. Most of the time that's what happens anytime I take my car in anywhere. Not here they told me to bring it down that day. I called them at 4:13 PM and I was out of there by 5:03. I'm sure it might not be like this every single day BUT considering there was two cars in front me when I got there and they STILL got me in and out that quickly just completely boggles my mind. If you have ANY experience with auto shops you know just how impressive that is. Not to mention the staff was extremely professional. This was LITERALLY the first time I walked in to a auto shop where I felt like they ACTUALLY saw me as a customer and not as just another problem they have to fix walking in the door. Incredible service and an incredible shop. Lastly I would like to just mention that I am that guy who will put a 0 on a review simply based on the fact that someone asked me to take a survey. I'm sick of people asking me to take a survey as I'm sure most people are and yet here I am writing out this review and giving them 5 stars. If I could I would give them 6 stars but now that you understand the kind of person I am I would simply like for you to consider this. I am the person you DON'T want to ask to take your survey and even I am telling you that this is the best auto ship I've been to. Think about that, actually don't, just stop reading and go to this shop you won't regret it.

If you have a car and are running aftermarket performance suspension parts, this place will take care of you. I was in need of a bad alignment after installing my new coilovers on my Acura RSX Type-S, and Scott took very good care of me! Very professional and very knowledgeable. Fast friendly service. FREE tire rotation and FREE flat / slow leak repair within about 15 minutes. They also offer full service oil changes, wiper blades, air filters, alignments, brakes, a/c, belts and hoses, batteries, tires, and more at competitve rates. Give them a try. They just did another flat repair for me at no charge. They got me right in and there was NO charge. Thanks so much so I didn't have to be stranded. So I had another slow leak problem...down 10 psi in 3 days. My wife and I share are car and I didn't want her to chance having a blow out. So, she worked from home today. I checked with Belle Tire, and I couldn't make an appointment. Their options for me were leave our car for a few days requiring a rental car OR come back next Tuesday (6 days later). I explained we had to have our car and needed it repaired today and they said no with no compassion for our situation. REALLY! So, I went back to Tuffy. I was able to make an online appointment and they got me right in...as always. I discovered our tires, which have almost 50k original miles, were down to the wear indicators. LJ recommended new tire. I recently throughly researched online at TireRack.com and after speaking with LJ, I decided on Michelin Cross Climate2 all season tires...the BEST tire on the road for our 2023 Mazda CX30 AWD. Just truly blessed to be able to buy them and their total peace of mind. Tuffys' price was competitive with their road hazzard warranty plus the service was a definite step up from Belle or Discount Tire. The tires should be ready for installation tomorrow. Even though the tires weren't immediately available the same day, we were in a position where it was worth waiting for. I didn't want to get them from another tire dealer and be just a number to them. Service IS important and it's NOT lost at Tuffy. Thank you LJ for the great service...I am more than happy to give you our continued business. LJ just called and said my tires are here. They are putting them on right now with new valve stems. Fast, dependable service.

Great experience at Tuffy's. There was a nail causing a slow leak in my tire that I found pretty late in the afternoon this last week. After being denied help at two other tire shops, the staff at Tuffy's was incredibly helpful and even promised to stay open late until they finished the job. On top of keeping the shop open almost an extra hour after closing, they did not even charge me for the service. Everyone there was extremely helpful and it was very clear that they put their customers first. I would definitely recommend and return to this location for any future car troubles!
