Trying to help out the hometown guy…. Thought I made an appointment on Friday for Monday. Told them a 75,000 mile check up, brakes, rear lights and wiper blades. What time? He said between 7 and 9. I dropped it off Sunday night. By 5 pm on Monday, nothing. I call. They didn’t have an appointment on the books. Well I’m glad your business is doing so well you can turn away loyal customers.

I have been a Ulmers customer for almost 10 years but this past experience at southgate was the worst I’ve ever had. I had scheduled a shuttle driver to pick me up after I dropped my car off. I had called at 4:22 since I hadn’t heard from Ulmers all day to confirm if my car would be finished today and ready for pick up which it was. On that call I confirmed that I was going to get picked up by the shuttle at around 5:10. The shuttle never came and when i called back at 5:18 to see what was happening they told me the shuttle driver had left work for the day even though I had confirmed less than an hour ago I was getting picked up. Forcing me to get an uber to Ulmers which is fine but never offered to comp my uber to the shop even though it was there mistake of not having someone to pick me up after confirming it. Then when I got to the shop there was no real sense of accountability or sorry when I got to the shop. As well as forgetting to send me my bill prior to arriving so I could check on it. Overall this was a bad experience from a company I’ve never had issues with and seems like the South Gate location is not well organized

Dropped my vehicle off and was told it would be finished that same day. I heard nothing all day, and when the evening came, I called to get the status. I was again told the vehicle would be ready for pickup that day. I didn’t hear back from them and I wasted my entire evening waiting for their call. Had to call the next day to get the status as no one bothered to call me back. This caused me to have to take an additional (and unexpected) day off of work. My employer was not happy. No one at Ulmers communicated with me during the entire process. I even had to ask for my vehicle inspection report which they promised to text to me on the first day. Thankfully the vehicle was fixed and has been operating well since the repair.

Customer service is always good. Very professional and efficient. They even offered to drive me home. The only downside is their service recommendations are overpriced for example a replacement cabin air filter was priced at $65 while i can buy it at the local auto parts store for $20. Of course i installed it myself.

Ulmer's has always taken great lengths to ensure I have a good experience, they have a wonderful diagnosis routine, and their prices are fair (3.5 to 4 stars) in this industry that always seems to keep getting more expensive everywhere else. Ive had my radiator fixed, front control arm fixed, oil change, and alignment, CV axle repair done all on my 2007 Honda CRV.

I took my Subaru to Ulmer’s after two other shops at messed up brake replacement. Ulmers did a great job diagnosing the issues, communicating them with me and fixing them. My car sounds better than it has in months. The only complaint I could make is that they did not have the car ready the day it was supposed to be, but they provided me with a loaner free of charge. 5 stars, finally found a shop I can have some confidence in.

We had both of our cars serviced here in the past month and the experience was wonderful. Our Jeep had the death wobble and our Tiguan needed an oil change. Customer service was excellent, we are two women in our 50’s and were treated with respect and made to feel 100% comfortable with these mechanics. Gabe has been working on my cars since they were Star motors, so when my 2009 Jeep Wrangler finally gave up, I already knew I was in good hands. What truly amazed me was how the entire team showed up for me. Shea came to get me when I was stranded in the middle of the road and helped me through the process of purchasing a new car. Joseph then kindly drove me to the dealership, checked out the vehicle, and made sure I was safely back on the road—all within one day. That level of care is rare. This shop came to my rescue. My car was running rough and throwing codes of misfires in my cylinders. The gentlemen here got my car in and diagnosed quickly. Literally a few hours after it was dropped off. They did a rebuild of the top of my engine and found me a decently priced engine block. The diligence Brian put into finding my parts is more than commendable. He worked with me on everything and made sure to answer all the questions I had through it all. I have to give Fred my mechanic extra props for being so determined to fix my car even though she was being extra dramatic getting fixed. I have never seen a more honest and great serviced shop. Their work is beyond exceptional. I will recommend them to everyone i know and those who i dont if asked if I know a good mechanic. You guys have earned a customer for life. Keep up the excellent work. 💗

I brought my car into Ulmer's because it was leaking transmission fluid. I left the car with them for a diagnostic to look for the source. After being with them for a day and a half and not hearing from the shop I called and was informed that there was no leak in transmission fluid. They said that the shop that recently changed my oil must have not cleaned up after removing the filter and that's why there was a small leak of oil but not transmission fluid. I paid $140 for this diagnostic. Within an hour of having my car back home, there was a puddle of transmission fluid under it. Everyone was friendly but it does not seem like they actually checked for a problem.

EXCELLENT SERVICE & REPAIR WORK! I will continue taking my F150 to Ulmer's Auto Repair in Southgate for maintenance and repairs. The staff is knowledgeable, polite, trustworthy and perform their work just as explained. Armando and Jeff were very polite and allowed me to bombard them with my questions (and oh boy...I always have questions. How else do I learn?). They were unphased, welcomed my inquiries and treated me professionally. Their customer service is top notch. My truck's repairs were completed in one day and only the work estimated was necessary. There were no calls to inform me of added surprises for "necessary" work and parts not predicted. I'm impressed they truly stuck to their estimate. While picking up my truck, I was told their mechanic is a fellow veteran, Navy. Being a Marine myself, I was impressed that he was kind enough to replace a missing cap on my license plate light. Thank you! I've been searching. Oh, I didn't mention the shuttle or loaner cars. This service is COMPLIMENTARY. They will ensure you have alternate, safe transportation while you're vehicle receives a little TLC. New to Kentucky, first time I've needed repairs on my baby. So happy I found Ulmer's! Sorry guys n gals...you're stuck with me.

I decided to go to Ulmer's because I listen to the CarTech program on WDJO-FM every Saturday morning, and I was very impressed with the knowledge of the hosts of that program. They know every possible thing you can possibly know about cars and trucks and automotive history and such, so I thought I'd give Ulmer's my business, because my 2013 Hyundai needed some help. I was not disappointed! They did an excellent job, and my car now is running great again! Ulmer's has earned my future business!
