While driving from Long Island to upstate New York, my car broke down in Queens. I am not from the area and was incredibly stressed out about what to do. A friend recommended that I call United. I am so glad that I did. The owner, Mia, was so kind and helpful to me. He arranged for the towing of my car and stayed in touch with me throughout the entire process. His estimate on how long it would take to fix the car was right on point and speedy, which was so appreciated since I live out of town. All my questions were answered when I arrived to pick up the car and I have no doubt that it was well taken care of. They even showed me the parts they needed to replace. I found all the employees to be very trustworthy when I met them. I highly recommend this shop.

this place is really unprofessional they charge me for a job and they never give me the grill fixed and because of that I end up spending another 300 and get the grill fix from someone else don’t give anybody some wrong information and charge them just to grab the customer and they done really bad job .as u can see in pic . I will never go to them again …

I went to United Auto Repair and Body Shop because someone recommended it, and I met a mechanic named Wali. I told him this was my first car—a second-hand 2011 Toyota Prius hybrid—and that I didn’t know much, so I trusted him to guide me. He checked the car and told me I just needed new brake pads, rotors, one wheel bearing, and a left wheel speed sensor. I asked him multiple times if anything else was needed, and he confidently said no. I got the work done and even gave him a tip. Two months later, I started hearing noise from the back left side. I went back, and he said I needed to change another wheel bearing. Again, I asked him to double-check if more needed to be done—he said no, just this one. I agreed, but the noise was still there. I returned again the next day, and now suddenly he says I should change all the bearings. Really? Why didn’t he find the issue the first time? At this point, I went to another shop. That mechanic fixed the noise for just $20—problem gone. By then, I had already paid Wali almost $1,200, including over $600 on repairs that didn’t solve the problem (besides the brake and rotor work, which were fine). Still trying to give him another chance, I returned when the check engine light came on. He scanned the car and said to change the spark plugs and one ignition coil due to misfiring. I paid another $300, but the very next day, the same issue came back. He then told me to try a fuel injection cleaner and fill up gas—did that, still same issue. Went back again, and now he says I should replace all fuel injectors. At this point, I had enough. I even asked him just to clean the ignition coil for me, and he said it would cost $75, right after I had spent $300 based on his advice with no results. I told him I’d come back when I had money and asked for some help—but he said no. That same day, I went to another mechanic. He cleaned the EGR valve, charged me $120, and the issue was fixed. I even asked him about the fuel injectors—he said they looked new and didn’t need to be replaced. Wali just kept asking me to change parts and spend more money without ever properly diagnosing the problem. It felt like he was guessing every time. In total, he ripped me off for over $900 and never actually fixed the issue. I didn’t expect this kind of treatment, especially from someone in our own community. If you’re a new driver or don’t know much about cars—DO NOT go here. They will take your money without solving your problem.

I had a disappointing experience at this garage. The staff seemed inexperienced and unprofessional, which made the whole visit quite frustrating. I’d suggest finding another option for better service.

I went to that place because they recommended me, and the work they did to my car was not what I expected, they painted my car with bad paint, and they told me to come the next day to polish it and then that you have to pay more to do that, I don't recommend that place at all professional, I spent 400 and they didn't do anything, I don't know how people keep going to that place I would never come back again
