I took my vehicle in May of 2024 to havethe A/C fixed. It was a large bill, but I was expecting it. A/C worked great initially, no issues for the whole summer of ‘24. Come June of this year, the a/c suddenly stopped working. Thankfully it was under warranty and they “fixed” it. It only worked for one day, before I took back the following week. Once again they “fixed” it as it was under warranty. The A/C worked okay for about a week and a half. I took my vehicle elsewhere and explained what had been fixed, they noticed that some of the “fixes” were done incorrectly and part of the problem. They fixed it right away and now the A/C is working great. I have zero complaints with the customer service more so the lack of properly fixing my A/C.

I brought my Jeep Grand Cherokee to University Auto for help with a temperature issue, but unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. The vehicle sat for nearly a week before anyone even looked at it. When they finally did, I was told it wouldn’t start — despite the fact that I drove it there without any starting issues. I strongly suspect repeated attempts to start the vehicle caused the starter to fail, but rather than taking responsibility, they insisted I would need a new starter just to begin diagnosing the original temperature issue. Their quote was $1,500 for the starter alone, and over $6,500 if the issue turned out to be a head gasket — which felt excessive and left me with the impression they weren’t interested in actually working on the vehicle. No offer was made to take responsibility for or replace the starter they likely damaged. I ended up taking the vehicle to C&C Auto, who were extremely helpful. They diagnosed a bad head gasket, replaced two motor mounts, installed a new oil filter housing, and a new starter — all for under $6,500. The contrast in service was night and day. This wasn’t my first concerning experience with University Auto. Previously, I brought in my Nissan Altima for overheating issues. They ran the car without properly checking the coolant, which resulted in the cooling fans shutting down completely. While they didn’t refuse to proceed with repairs, the oversight raised serious concerns about the quality of their diagnostic process. In both cases, I left feeling like my time was wasted and my vehicles were worse off after being there. University Auto not only failed to provide effective solutions, but caused additional issues and quoted inflated prices. Based on these experiences, I cannot recommend them.

5 stars!!… I came by their shop today sorta unannounced as a ‘walk-in’… I was coming in from out of town and I had found a nail in my tire and was losing air…. They made effort to check on me quickly, took my truck back , patched the tire, all in about 30 mins … then they charged me $0 for this! …. Can’t beat that ‘old school’ service! This will be my future place for anything my family needs from general service or tire related needs. Nice guys too… thanks y’all !

We have all of our personal and work vehicles serviced here, and highly recommend Will and his team. I’ve had basic oil changes all the way to an engine rebuild, and each time the communication and pricing was perfect. Hard to find a “mechanic” that you can trust, but this is one shop that you can!

Stopped in because we had a low tire. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The leak was too close to the sidewall to repair and the price for a new tire was very reasonable. They also pointed out a couple small unknown issues like our tag light bulb being out. No pressure or sales pitches like some shops out there, just solid customer service. Would not hesitate at all to use them in the future.

We purchased a new set of tires, lifetime alignment, and had some other scheduled maintenance items done here. They had great pricing and selection of tires. It was done and ready for us to pick up exactly when they said it would be. The staff was very friendly and professional. We highly recommend University Auto!

I had brake work done about a year ago, have had low miles since then, but immediately after the work was done, noticed screeching of the brakes. Thought eventually, it would go away, but it never did, so last month I took it back in to see if they could check it, they did and didn’t notice anything Except one of the brake pads was slightly cracked, but they didn’t replace it. However, when I’m in the car going at a good speed and going downhill and need to apply brakes, I can feel bumping, so I know it’s a rotor issue which they replaced at the original appointment. Other than that, they provide a pretty good service, appreciate their work They indicated that I had no dipstick for the transmission fluid, but in going to the dealership. They indicated that on those cars no dipstick is required, haven’t had dipsticks in those cars for over five years now.

I don't think there were bad intentions but the service honestly felt lazy/unthorough. Went in with a check engine light for turbo overboost and tire that was starting to lose psi, and they told me I would need a whole new turbo for almost $4k with minimal explanation. Also, they listed the tire condition as good but when I got in my car the low pressure light turned on so they clearly didn't check. Turns out I only needed a new solenoid (Ford has a specific service bulletin for this exact code that they somehow didn't find here), and it cost me less than $500 after I got a second opinion. If you have a straightforward repair, they might be fine but I would not recommend for any engine diagnostic or anything remotely specialized.

Brad Dylan and Leon went above and beyond to help me get my car back on the road. Without going into details, I am a single mother needing to make an unexpected move, I needed my car fixed and back on the road quickly. I don’t know anyone in the area and finding a ride wasn’t really in the cards. I took a chance and asked the guys for some help and Dylan assured me it would be no problem. Within 24 hours, my car was worked on, fixed, and returned back to my house safely. I took Leon back to the shop and he checked my tire pressure before I got back on the road. Thank you, Brad, Dylan, and Leon!! I will never forget the kindness and amazing customer service!!

Very good customer service, trustworthy, and timely. Trustworthy: I brought my car in because another place told me I needed the engine mount fixed. University Auto & Tire staff informed me that it wasn’t in bad enough condition that it needed to be fixed. In their words “if it was my car I wouldn’t”, saving me $500 in their estimate. Next they checked oil leakage for me and and quoted $1,100 for gasket repair and again informed me I could get away without the repair but be carful to check oil every 1000 miles. Great customer service: I let them know I didn’t recall being quoted the inspection fee and they removed it as a courtesy. I am a flat toned very matter of fact person and sometimes I’m not taken well before I realize I’m speaking that way. They did not take offense and were very polite and helpful, I thought that was very commendable. Timely: I had to take my car back and forth multiple times and each service was very quick. They also have good transparency with their online quoting tool that includes descriptions of work, photos, etc.

Took my car in a month or so ago. Dylan (sorry if that's spelled wrong) was very pleasant and had great customer service. They were able to look at my car fairly fast despite how busy they were. Thank you!

My daughter brought her car in with a very low/flat tire today. They found a nail, patched her up, and sent her on her way. So very grateful for the honesty and integrity in dealing with my daughter! We'll be return customers for future needs!

Extremely happy with my service from University Auto and tire today! Had previously taken my Audi into another shop, was told both front and back brake pads and rotors needed replaced, but that they hadn’t looked at the rotors but wouldn’t replace the pads without also replacing the rotors. Between that, overcharging and trying to perform unneeded services, I decided to give University Auto and Tire a shot. I was blown away at the transparency and honesty they held while working on my car! First, they were the only shops to go ahead and give me a quote for my brake pads without bringing it in first. Second, when they looked at my car, they realized my front brakes (several other things actually as well) were totally fine! I went in asking for both to be done, they could have easily made more money from me than they did but chose to be honest. Back brake pads and engine filter were replaced and back to me within the day. Great price as well! I will be coming back and recommending to anyone who has had negative experiences with auto shops in the past. Thanks again for the pleasant experience!

I was in a bit of a bind, and I knew that my brakes needed to be changed. Everybody at this shop was understanding and helped me get home safely. Spencer was great because he was very informative with every detail of the process. Every question I asked he was more than forthcoming with the explanation.

DO NOT TRUST YOUR VEHICLE HERE. Over several instances I have entrusted my jeep at University Auto. I expected honest completed diagnostic work followed by effective competent repairs. This has not happened. Regrettably my confidence in University Auto has completely eroded. University Auto has proven, yet again, they lack integrity. They have maliciously created a consistent pattern of incorrect and misleading diagnoses and substandard mechanical knowledge, leading to botched costly repairs and damage to my jeep. This recurring cycle of fraudulent misrepresentation of work has not only left me with unwarranted inconveniences but left my jeep with unresolved consistent mechanical issues and a significant financial burden resulting in an inoperable vehicle.

University Auto & Tire is amazing! The staff is professional, helpful, and truly goes above and beyond for their customers. They’re honest, quick, and make sure you understand exactly what’s going on with your car. They took great care of me during a stressful situation, and I’m really grateful for how supportive and kind they were throughout the process. Highly recommend them to anyone in Fayetteville who wants reliable service and people who genuinely care.

Day after Daughter arrived back in Fayetteville after winter break her truck had a serious issue. They got it analyzed same day, sent pictures of truck in bay being diagnosed. They worked with us explaining all details answering questions with patience. Coordinated payment easily from out of state, even to the point of placing invoice in glovebox and just handing her the keys upon completion of the repair (finished next day). We have used them for regular service along with emergencies and will continue doing so. Fair pricing, excellent customer service and overall nice people to work with.
