I hate to be a debbie downer, and I never leave bad reviews. But in addition to generally treating me like I didn't know anything about cars, this place put the wrong filter on my car when I got an oil change. My motor could have blown on me. Oil was everywhere and almost none was left in my tank. Midas is right down the street and will explain to you thoroughly what is going on in your car while offering a 10% student discount ❤️

Although they have great customer service, University Auto Parts fully intends to take advantage of students, who do not know any better. The first time I had my car serviced here, a trusted mechanic from my home town (2 hours away) told me that he believed I was charged at least an extra $150. The head man there was extremely courteous and friendly, so I gave University Auto Service the benefit of the doubt. The second time I had my car serviced was because the window wouldn't go up. It turns out the belt between the window motor and the window broke. When I got the estimate it was again $150-$200 more expensive than it should cost anywhere. When I started asking about the price I had to pay for getting the estimate, I was charged labor for taking the door panel off, AND FOR PUTTING IT BACK ON. The head man couldn't look me in the eye when I asked clarifying this with him because we both knew he was ripping me off. When I came in to look at the estimate, I did not tell them that I wasn't interested. Had I not asked any questions and simply agreed for them to fix the window, they would have removed the door panel again (to actually fix it), charging me twice for this labor. Although they have great customer service, University Auto Parts fully intends to take advantage of students, who do not know any better.

My son was notified by a popular auto service chain that his rear brakes were almost down to metal-on-metal. This surprised me as the brakes only have 30,000 miles on them and I would have expected the front brakes to have the most wear and not the rear, unless a caliber was stuck. I was a bit skeptical so I wanted a second opinion from a reliable auto service that had good reviews. I read the positive reviews about University Auto Service and made an appointment for my son's car. Randy was very nice and called me after looking at the car to tell me that the front and rear brakes were just fine. I gave Randy and University Auto Service 5 starts for their honesty and politeness, As I am 1,000 miles from Cincinnati, I really would have no way of visibly seeing if the brakes did or did not need replaced. My son has now been instructed to only use University Auto Service for future repairs and service.

I am so happy I ran across this auto repair shop when I did. My car had been giving me this message that had me confused and freaking out. It kept cutting off, and I didn’t know what was wrong with it. Fortunately, I called and spoke to Randy. He told me to bring it in for a free diagnosis, I dropped it off. A hour later they told me what was wrong, and I gave them the okay to fix it. 3 hrs later I picked my car up, and the problem was fixed. I would highly recommend them!

I brought my car in last spring because someone told me I needed to get new tires; they were nice enough to let me know I could wait a few more months but would need them before winter. It's refreshing to work with a company that puts the customers well being first. I went back in the winter, before bad weather hit, to get my new tires.I was very happy with the price and with the service Randy provided. I would recommend them to anyone, in fact I just told my Mom to go check them out!

I called and Randy told me to come in right away. Dropped my car off to replace the oil tank plug and he did and changed my oil as well. He called me not even an hour later and I picked it up. Quick, easy and the price was reasonable. Highly recommend

They plugged my tire after I requested to have it replaced, then the tire was flat again not even 7 days later. I paid for over $800 worth of services and my car still doesn't work because of the very reason I came to this place in the beginning. I spent all my savings, missed 2 days of work, spent hundreds of dollars on ubers, and now I have to come up with another$100 to change out my tire today. All I wanted was someplace I could trust to do the whole job the first time. I wouldn't be so upset if I hadn't specifically requested that the tire be replaced on the phone call before I paid to have my car towed to the shop. I told them I drive 100 miles a day, I told them the tires were old. When I picked up the car I was not told that I would need to service that tire. I would've paid whatever the cost to make sure I didn't have to be back within two months. Unfortunately now due to the missed work and ubers and rent being due, I am officially broke with no car. Hopefully my boss will understand.

I cannot even begin to say how fabulous this shop is!! I called them because my truck started misfiring while I was towing my horse to Kentucky. Being far from home with a horse in the trailer I was in full panic mode. Randy was not only calm and helpful, but he helped me trouble shoot where to go so I wouldn't get stuck with my rig and wouldn't have to unhook the trailer. They had my truck fixed quickly and my horse and I back on the road. While they could have used my moment of desperation to gauge the price, it was actually very reasonable. To cap off this fabulous experience, they even helped me back up the trailer and watched traffic to make sure I could get on the street without issue. Then they called me after I was back on the freeway to make sure the truck was running well. These guys are beyond great mechanics, they are good people.

Needed a tire plug so I called and they were able to get me in right away- I was there 20 minutes total. Very nice and helpful, even got a 10% UC student discount. It’s great to find an auto place where you feel safe and respected as a college-aged girl. Definitely would recommend!

Great establishment with quick and good quality service! The splash guard on the underside of my car was hanging and scraping the ground when I drove. Helped me right away and then fixed it up for me within under 20 minutes! Super nice guy, he didn’t even charge me. Will definitely be returning for any future car services!

Update: Went back for an oil change a few months later and still the same great service! Prompt and polite just as before! Absolutely amazing service! They got me in and out in the same day and charged a super fair price. They easily could have tried to up-charge me or add on addition parts for the problem I was having, but they didn't. The woman on the phone and at the desk was super sweet and personable, and the mechanic I worked with was extremely polite and professional, as well. I will definitely go back when I need service in the future!

Showed up 30 min before closing with a piece of glass in my tire, the mechanic so kindly repaired it, put it back on and filled all four tires. Saved my life today. Highly recommend!!

Randy has been doing great work on my 2008 Lexus for about 4 years now and has always been able to help out when I’m in a pinch. He repaired my rear differential, brake pads and rotors in October 2020 and they have held up well ever since. He recently fixed a bad water pump and bearings and was able to complete the job quickly with OEM parts. I’ve found his prices to be fair, and he is transparent and willing to answer any questions. I will continue to go back to Randy at University Auto for future repairs.

My daughter (UC student stuck managing a low tire by herself) had the best service there this morning. She had an old tire repair (which had been done elsewhere) that leaked and they were so helpful to her and got her back on the road to class. Thank you for the amazing service!

Was promised a 10% discount for students when I was on the phone with an employee. Went in to pay and the owner claimed we had not worked out an arrangement to prove I am a student so I couldn’t get the discount anymore. I offered to show my student ID in person but they still would not give me the discount they promised, costing me a good amount of extra money. The man at the front desk was very kind and patient throughout the situation but the owner handled it very poorly and would not allow him to give the discount.

Do not take your car here! I brung my car to them to get a starter replacement & when I picked up my car 7 days later my front bumper was damaged , In not 1 spot but 2 spots. My bumper was brand new as well. They will mess your car up and leave you hanging without a care in the world! Here’s photos of my car before and after I picked it up.

University Auto is the best shop in town for auto service. I have 3 older cars that need maintenance regularly and the mechanics always figure out real problems . Other auto shops are trained to remove and replace parts and are not well trained for troubleshooting mechanical problems. University Auto has guys that can troubleshoot and fix problems from the source. These are nice people who will get it right without guessing. I recommend University Auto service.

Never ever bring your car to this shop! Charged me $130 ($160 after tax, figure that out...) to tell me I had a power steering leak and a brake noise. I told them I had a power steering leak and a brake noise! All I wanted was an estimate to replace the P/S lines and the pads on the bad corner. The leak and noise were obvious, the Diagnostic charge was B.S. and I was never told there would be a $160 charge when I dropped off the keys. Then had to go back 3 times to try and get my vehicle because their Creditcard reader was broken. Had to bring cash. Take your vehicle and money somewhere else!

I had a fantastic experience with university auto service. My daughter is a student UC, and we live out of state. Her car was having issues and so I called the main office. They told me that they could look at her car the very next day. They got her car in and gave me what I thought was a very reasonable estimate to do the repair, about $1500. After I approved the work, they did the work and then when my daughter returned pick her car up and pay, they reduced my bill by $400 because they said part of the work they had quoted they didn’t need to do. WHO DOES THAT?!! They already treated me really well, and I thought very fairly. They understood the urgency of the situation, and I felt they worked really hard to get my daughter‘s car working as quickly as possible. I really appreciate what they did. If I have any other problems while my daughter’s car while she’s in college, I will absolutely send her back. Thank you all so much.
