Vu is the best! I just moved to SLC 3 weeks ago and was picking my fiancé up from the airport, when my check engine light went off on the 15 south. Luckily I got off 5 minutes from the only mechanic open on Saturday. The shop was very clean considering it’s an auto shop, and everyone was very friendly. I am no mechanic, but I know my way around cars. This baby needed a new alternator and a new spark plug. Vu said the same thing, and doesn’t try to sell you on things that you don’t need. Vu gave me an extremely fair price on the spark plug and alternator, but I decided to just do the alternator for now since I’m on a budget after moving. Me and my fiancé were about to Uber home, when I got a call saying my car was ready. IT ONLY TOOK HIM 45 MINUTES ONCE HE TOLD US THE PROBLEM. I hope they don’t pay by the hour, because this guy works too fast! I live in Herriman, but I’m definitely coming to V&L for all of my work from now on, especially that spark plug. 1 week later and she’s running like a beauty.

What a joke! Do not take your vehicles here! Get ready for a long story. I brought my Ram 2500 in for a new steering rack. I dropped off the truck on Wednesday and was pleased to hear that it would be done by Monday at the latest. I call on Monday and he says he’s still working on it. I get a call Tuesday to tell me that they broke a part that was on backorder and they cannot find a replacement. They sent me on a wild goose chase to find a replacement. He gave me the part to use as a reference and it was clear that they broke the part while removing it. I was able to get a replacement and i brought it to the shop. After I brought the part, he told me it would be done the next day. I don’t hear back for two days so I call back. He told me “come back at 5 to pick it up”. I take an Uber to pick up the truck and when I get there it’s not done. He told his mechanic to move my truck from the storage lot next door and I watched him run my passenger mirror into a road sign. We then drove the truck to their alignment shop where I sat for at least two hours while they tried to perform an alignment on their alignment rack that’s meant for sedans. Once they finish I watch his other mechanic run my mirror into the garage as he backed out.. That is twice! Finally I get the bill and it seems outrageously high. At this point I am extremely frustrated but i pay it and leave. Two weeks go by and I take the truck to Idaho and back. When I get back I realize my front tires are completely bald. I got to pay for four new tires and had to pay for ANOTHER alignment. I took it to a shop that could actually fit my truck. A few months go by and my power steering rack fails. I don’t have time to leave my truck again for two weeks and didn’t trust that it would be done right if it took it back to V&L, so I dealt with it myself. When I reached out to get a refund for the part he tells me that because I didn’t have his shop put in the new replacement he is unwilling to pay me back for the part. I have never had such a bad experience in my life.

My car was overheating. I pulled into this shop to see what was wrong. He said it would be $65 to tell me what was wrong with it. He then told me I had to change my reservoir, thermostat, and a few hoses. He did not have change so I ended up paying $75 and left. Went to my mechanic to find out it was the water pump. My window button is also broken (which we chatted about) he ended up rolling my window all the way down. Now it’s stuck down with winter approaching. Please do not go here, tow your car the extra mile, it’ll save you money.

My friends are sending this company to small claims courts. They have terrible customer service and started works without consent. Be very careful in choosing this shop. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I brought my vehicle here due to an issue with it overheating. After waiting in their shop for 2 hours AFTER they told me it was ready, I paid my bill and was recommended to replace another part, which I could have done at their sister location since it was closer to me. Upon bringing my car there I was told they found one of the parts installed by this location was faulty. I am unhappy with the sister location as well due to a separate issue. I would recommend a better mechanic shop if you have a major issue with your vehicle.

If I could I would give this shop a 0 stars. The lady at the front desk had the worst costumer service. She was rude and not willing to answer my questions regarding the car service I needed, she seemed like she was taking her misery on me and other costumers there. Never coming back to this place again and wont refer no one here. I hope people go somewhere else were you get treated with respect and kindness. Shame of her for being terribly rude.
