I have gone here my entire life and never had an issue. They are open on Saturday until 2pm, unlike what Google says.

Hell no, don’t go! These guys are straight crooks. Took a classic VW in and came out with more problems than it came in with literally.

I had spent around $3000 with them then about a month later I came in and picked up some drums I was informed that I would have to shave the studs that were stock to make it work the next day I brought him back said I didn't wanna do it that way I was then told that I could not return them because I had ordered them well I did not order them how simply walk back to the shelf and pull them off the shelf himself And they would not do anything for me as far as credit or exchange I've been a very loyal customer to them but their need for $180 was much greater then my loyalty to them was They really made me feel that that $180 was more important to them than any future work I needed done So be careful with these people they need your money more than any business

Our experience was great. My car was fixed as usual, right on time. It is reassuring to know they do what they same. Thank you again.

Best VW spot in the AV! Air cooled specialists! UPDATE. We had a peculiar transmission problem and though I had to bring it in twice. It was nice that these guys stood behind their work. Bill on second trip to shop was 0.00. Nothing in any forum had mentioned this issue my Trans had. So we both learned a lot. If I order something it's mine. I don't expect anyone in the vintage vw scene to take back my choice. Fifty year old cars is difficult to shop for and I am sometimes thankful to at least getting a part that must be grinded sanded cut, whatever. After the grind they fit just fine.. That's the way it is with cars this old. Five stars again 3'17'22.

Took my 69 bug for some repairs. Agreed to price and was given a call 3nweeks later car was ready. Went to pick up car and wouldn't go into gear. Mechanic said it was fine when he test drove it. They called us like 3 days later and told us what was wrong and how much it would cost to fix it. We agreed. Maybe 2-3 weeks later we went to pick it up again and the same thing happened to us. The mechanic blamed my husband telling him he didnt know how to drive the car. I called a tow truck and took my car. They are thieves and liars there. If you love your car DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR to this place.

I've tried other mechanics for my 1970 VW Beetle, and these guys are the best. My car has a stick automatic and very few people around Los Angeles know how to work on them. The mechanic prior to VV, looked at my transmission and said it couldn't be fixed, and suggested it be converted to a traditional stick. Hal at VV took a look and quoted me $125 to get it working. He lived up to his word. The other mechanic said the car had another major issue. When I asked Hal to check on it, he said there was no issue. My car runs great now.

Other reviews have to be friends: This place looks legitimate but they play more games than Nintendo. My daughter brought her car in for a head gasket job. It took them 2 weeks to call my daughter and tell her what I told them on day 1, then they said 3/4 weeks and $6,420 for the job. We agreed on the price and the timeframe. 5 weeks later we call to check in, they say one more week, we call 6 days after that to make sure the car will be done and ready the next day. The guy starts yelling at my daughter, saying No way it will be done tomorrow and it's going to cost you more on top of the $6,500. So I had to get involved and go pick up the car. When I did so the owner used his dog to try and intimidate me and the cops had to come and mediate the situation. The police told me I had to pay for the work he had done to get the car back. I agreed. Even with the cops in his shop this guy and his dad were as petty as possible and tried to say they wouldn't accept my debt card. After an hour of going back in forth they finally accepted my debt card and an hour after that they released my car. Storage issues: I store my car in the garage because it's old original paint, they stored my car outside and now my car has sun damage and I'm going to have to get a paint job. There's loads of spiderwebs all over my wheels so this means it's been sitting in there lot for a while.
