I was the unfortunate one I guess. I took my SUV in for an oil change & by the time I got home an hour away, oil had leaked out all underneath my vehicle & was low on oil. The manager was very quick to come to my residence & perform another oil change in my driveway which I was thankful for. He never mentioned what the issue was but said I would have no more problems. My dad was going to power wash the underside of my vehicle the next day since it was covered with oil, so I parked it as his house…drove straight there (only 15 miles). The car stayed parked there until the next day when my dad went to wash it for me. He started the vehicle to be sure there was not going to be another oil leak before he washed it. He left the vehicle running for approx 10 minutes before it caught fire! My SUV was in flames & had NO issues prior to getting the oil changed. Valvoline came to inspect the fire & simply told me that oil doesn’t burn so they were not at fault. My SUV was totaled & so burned up my insurance couldn’t prove that Valvoline was to blame. I had to file this loss with my insurance … but hey, I was offered a free oil change coupon from Valvoline for my inconvenience.
