I came in for a simple oil change. They suggested my serpentine belt needed replaced so I had them do it. Right off the bat I felt like I made a mistake . It seems only one employee had even the slightest clue which was not very much. After they got it done I went to leave and got a block and a half down the road and my vehicle died in the intersection. It took me about 7 tries restarting it just to limp it back over there. Turns out they forgot to re connect my mass airflow sensor . Turns out the employee who did it i was supposed to be the service manager. Luckily nothing else happened but still extremely frustrating

TL;DR - this place is amazing and I would highly recommend you choose this location for your service needs. From the highest level of management down to those underneath the hot cars draining the oil they are all very kind and helpful! A fairly new customer who usually does his own oil, but because of my current situation I’m in charge of 5-7 car’s maintenance. Two days ago I mistakenly took one of my cars into this shop because of a coupon for somewhere else, but they used Valvoline oil (completely my mistake. I should have read things closer instead of being in a rush) however they were super kind about it and took very good care of me. Then today I was taking care of one of my other cars and tried to use the same coupon. Took the car to the correct shop but they turned down service because of a “possible stripped drain bolt” (I understand that though. No one wants that liability) the car had been taken to valvoline for its last oil change while I was out! So I go back to this same location and they looked at it and said the drain bolt was just fine! They again took good care of me being very kind and understanding.

The worst service I have ever received from a Valvoline. Don't go replacing the battery here, if your car is electric, as most cars are now. I warn you that you run the risk of having a bad job done. They wanted to put the battery in my car without being sure that the computer wouldn't be damaged. A black man with long hair said, "I'll take out the battery and put it in and what happens is their problem." Then a black hair woman comes out, and says "nothing is going to happen". When they know that the car's computer could have been damaged. Anyway, I told them that I didn't agree and they didn't do the service...Very unprofessional. They should respect their manager, do what he tells them and be professional. zero stars.

“270 hours of training” but you can’t tell me the first time I come in that you don’t have the oil for my car? Little backstory: I first went to the Valvoline off 151st over by Garmin’s Headquarters. They were very nice and told me they wouldn’t have my filter or oil until they got their next delivery, no big deal. They recommended I called other locations nearby to see if they had the oil, and the filter my car needs. This location off of Santa Fe stated they had both through their customer care line, but that was not the case. I arrived about 45 mins after I had that phone call, only for them to tell me at this location that they ONLY didn’t have my filter. No problem, I went and bought the filter for it and came back about 10-15 mins later. I came back to the store for them to get to work on my car, only for them to tell me they ALSO didn’t even have my oil. At this point it had almost been a two hour process, but with the only progress being them replacing the new filter that I had to go out and purchase myself. I understand places run out of supplies, but when you’re servicing a European car you know you may not have both the filter AND the oil for, why not just check for the both the first time… Thank you for coming to my TedTalk. For those of you who have cars that take 5W40 or are European, be careful with this location.

I'm STILL sitting in line waiting for a "15 minute" oil change. I was the third car in line and was told it would be about 30 minutes. It has now been one hour and 20 minutes and just NOW THEY'RE ROTATING THE TIRES on the car in front of me!!! I've been to two other Valvoline locations in the area and never have I seen the slow and casual approach to what is supposed to be a fast service business. I could have gone to a dealership and been in and out faster! I will not patronize this location in the future and I would recommend that if you're in need of an oil change that you skip this location as well. UPDATE: Start to finish from arrival to departure, my visit took 1 hour and 56 minutes. With the initially communicated wait time, I would have expected it to be closer to 45 minutes. I would NOT have waited this long; however, there were 6-7 vehicles in line behind me and the only way to achieve an early exit would have been to jump the curb and drive through the landscaping. Just another reason I will not patronize this location in the future

Kenzie is a very unprofessional manager. This location lost/broke the clips to secure my air filter on my 2008 Ford Edge and their techs did not advise me when they did on June 19th. I took my car to the mechanic two days after getting the oil change/change the air filter since the wrench light came on. They advised me that since the clips were not there to secure the air filter hatch, it was causing the air flowing from my AC running into my power train which could have messed up my whole car and I would have needed a new power train if I didn’t notice sooner. Kenzie advised me that she would refund me my whole invoice (about $100 for the oil change and air filter), the $50 invoice for me taking it to the mechanics, and order the clips the same day I told her what had happened after picking up my car from the mechanics. There had been zip ties securing it down since June 21st and they finally put the clips in on July 15th. I got about $60 back on June 24th and did not get the rest back until July 15th because the customer service representative felt so bad about my claim because she even said it was ridiculous reading the notes. Came into the store three times after June 21st since Kenzie did not inform me that she filed a claim/ordered the parts since she never called me back and the second time I came, she was not there, but Jason who tried to help gave me his apologizes for the mistake they made on my car (I understand if they are embarrassed to admit what they did, but at least Jason admitted it and he didn’t even do the oil change on my car). I called customer service again and Hunter advised me that Kenzie put notes in the claim that I lied and that the clips were already missing when I got there even though she wasn’t even there when her techs messed up my vehicle. Both Olathe Ford across the street from them and the mechanics told me that is not possible because then my power train on my vehicle would have been needing replaced a long time ago. I’ve waited about a month on these clips worth $25 and I advised customer service that I wanted to speak with someone higher up such as the Area Manager and have been waiting since July 8th to hear back. I am still waiting to hear back after all these lies and sketchy activities on this claim from everyone involved. Very unprofessional from Kenzie, the techs for not telling the clips were missing, and Vavoline. I have been told lies, going back and forth with what they have told me, and not hearing back from Josiah the Area Manager or a Regional manager on my claim. Jason and the customer service representatives were the most helpful for this claim. Get an oil change at this location at your own risk.

Said my hood wouldn't open and couldn't do my oil change. Left this location and went to another location. They had to figure out how to open it, but took less than a minute and did my oil change. Won't recommend this location to anyone.

They are really slow. This location supposed to open at 8am. There are two of us waiting in line and they have not opened yet, it’s 8:23am. We can see the employees walking around in there and no one has came out to say anything to us. Bad customer service!

Edited from great experience. Honestly I just posted that because I felt so bad for the mechanics. Enjoy the Read. Following the oil change service I received at Valvoline, my car was towed to D and J Auto to repair the Oil tank assembly. Mechanics who were providing me with a 15 minute oil change ended up needing to take five hours in order to remove the stripping that was cleft after breaking the cap of my oil tank assembly. They replaced it with a new one, and when they were done I drove away when subsequently every error an engine light went off in my car. I drove it back where it had to be towed to D and J auto to get the complete oil tank assembly replaced. When I went to pick up the vehicle the shifter was in 3 pieces and they had said it was broken prior to arrival. It to not be able to be fully in park until so the key can be released. I can attest that it did not take the complete dissembley of my gear shift and a screwdriver in order to put my car into park and remove my key prior to taking it to Valvoline for service. Their customer care team has drag their feet on this for the past two weeks and honestly I am done. I had to keep calling in order to get somebody’s attention about the situation I wasn’t able to get a hold of their actual regional manager until this past Tuesday. When I explain the situation to him he told me that oh don’t worry we’ll get this taken care of will get this paid for I’ll let you know ASAP what it’s going on. That never happened. I had to call him today to get a straight answer from them because I still had never heard back. Today I was told that because the car was out of their care that it wasn’t Valvolines problem. I’ve never left a post like this on any organizations page I understand that sometimes things are hard and people work hard. I left my car in the care of Valvoline, they payed for the tow truck they paid for the repairs, and when I went to pick up my car something else was broken. I am so frustrated. When I asked to speak to this individual supervisor he said while he may not get back to you today. D and J quoted the part costing over $500 (you know because of labor). I did a quick google and the part cost like $13-15 :) Hope folks read this and take stock in the story. I just moved to Lenexa and this situation Has me so burnt out on people fixing my car because honestly I don’t trust anyone to take care of it.

I came in for an oil change today & my car was able to get an oil evac, vs a regular cold drain will my oil change. Ask about it next time you come in. Its completely safe for your car and will completely drain your entire pan of every drop of dirty oil. Plus, it's really cool to watch.
