This shop is the best auto repair shop in Northern Virginia. Customer service and communication is top notch. They were able to fix an annoying ABS problem that others were not able to fix and kept me in the loop. I highly recommend. «:::P:::» «:::E:::» «:::R:::» «:::F:::» «:::E:::» «:::C:::» «:::T:::»

Buyer Beware!!!! Make sure you get a written estimate. My girlfriend went because her engine light was on. Jay (the owner) said it would be $700 for a rear catlalytic converter. She picked the car up and the bill was $1700.00. He never called her just did extra work. She paid and drove about 20 miles and the light came back on. She brought the car back and he said he would take care of it but she needed some extra work. He quoted her $400 . When she picked up the car the bill was over $700. He said she needed a bunch of critical things (look at bill $330 dollar test). So she paid. She drove about five miles and the light came back on. It was late Saturday afternoon and she brought the car back. He acted concerned and said bring it back and he said a coil was bad (singular). He said he would not charge any labor and change the coil and flush the transmission for eighty bucks. So she brought the car back today and said 80 bucks right. He said yep. So we just went to pick the car up and the bill was just under $400. I went with her and asked to see the estimate or when he called her to say it was going to cost more. He never did. I had him take out the parts he put in. He called his guy over and it took him less than five minutes to reverse $400 dollars of work. Her e are the first 2 bill. The only thing OK'd was the rear catalytic. Look at the second bill. She brought the car back because the light came on and he charged over $300 for a test to see what he messed up! Over $300 for a test to see what he messed up. Over $400 in labor for 2 belts!! Over $300 for a test to see what he messed up. Over $400 in labor for 2 belts!! Over $300 for a test to see what he messed up. Over $400 in labor for 2 belts!! Only OK'D converter Only OK'D converter

If you're looking for a place to have honest work done on your car, DO NOT BRING IT HERE!!! I brought my car here earlier this year because it was misfiring, and I thought I had some kind or rapport with the owner since I've been here a few times before. He ran a diagnostics and said that I needed to replace my spark plugs and the O2 sensor. I bought the parts myself and had him install them. Afterwards the car still misfired. He kept the car for an entire week. In this week, now, somehow, my car won't start. He ended up changing the battery, the fuel filter, and the starter. The car still didn't start, and he never called before changing any of these things, except the battery. Then, my car is now shooting oil out of the top of the engine. So, he also replaced the valve gasket, which didn't change anything because the car still didn't start. I ended up paying this crook $1100 for misdiagnosing my car and changing a bunch of stuff I didn't ask him to change, and wasn't needed. Because of this I ended up having to get my entire engine replaced at the dealership due to his neglect and lack of knowledge on my vehicle.

After dealing with another shop and being told I was going to need to spend close to $2000 to get my car's problems fixed, Jay and the guys at Virginia Auto Repair Center fixed her up for $150. They did a great job and I recommend this shop to anyone in the area.

Buyers, be aware!!!!! You deserve to go somewhere where you are respected, where honesty is valued. Not just for someone to see you as a dollar sign. They lost a loyal customer. If "gaslighting" had a mechanics logo, this place would be the poster face for the billboard. He is not there to help you just to take advantage of you. DO NOT GO OVER THERE. If you're looking for a place to have honest work done on your car, DO NOT BRING IT HERE!!! You have been warned. Read the reviews. They are very true.

Stay away from this place. I came with my spare part and agreed with him about work price. However spare part that i brought was not good according to the owner of the business. To avoid ordering online, waiting time, and attempt fee for work, instead he offered to request spare part through his source. He did not say the price until work was done. Spare part that cost me $20-50, ended up with cost of $400. This guy is just an opportunist that exploiting the situation and to rip you off. He is not there to help you just to take advantage of you. DO NOT GO OVER THERE.

Outstanding service over multiple repairs on different cars. I have given up my mechanic work and let Jay take car of my cars now. Coming from someone with a background in cars and appropriate skepticism of bad shops; I trust his analysis and estimates. Great place to get the job done right without being over charged (yes this is a real customer).

I’m utterly disappointed. Stay away from this place. I went to this place to change my lights. My mother advised me to go elsewhere when she read the reviews on here. However, because I’ve been here before, I thought I had some report with these people. I was wrong. I was here to change my low beam light . The place my mother asked me to go to quoted me $75. But because I came here before, I trusted them. I should have never trusted them to begin with. He told me that changing my low beam would cost me $120 ( not bright enough). Then he told me I could get the LED light for $180. I told him I couldn’t afford it. After he opened my car, he said that my socket was burned and if he installed the new lights, it wouldn’t last. Everything , including the low beam light would cost me $218. I declined as I couldn’t afford it. Really. This is not for the LED lights. He said he’d see what he can do. He ended charging me $128.16 for the low beam light. When I was driving away that evening my lights were not working. I was so so upset. I can’t believe it I got ripped off like that. I should have gone to the other guy. You love and learn. Buyers, be aware. You deserve to go somewhere where you are respected, where honesty is valued. Not just for someone to see you as a dollar sign. They lost a loyal customer .

Very friendly on my first visit and quick to act on my repair. I got my car back in less than a day. Return trips were less successful for service based upon a warranty offered at check-out. Unfortunately, the company hid behind non-descript rules and refused to honor their own warranty. Felt like I was arguing with Zalinsky motors. While looking inspecting the original issue, they found several "new issues." I refused service and I have moved by business to Integrity Motors off 29.

Jay and his crew worked very hard to get my car back on the road after I found and tried fixing an exhaust leak on my own. I supplied him with the replacement parts and he provided his expertise on replacing what was broken and suggesting minor maintenance items that would need addressing. His rate is very competitive for the area and I wouldn't hesitate to take my car back to him again in the future.

Most likely the positive reviews that are here are friends and families or workers of this shop Our experience with this place is that they knowingly gave us a faulty part and placed it in our vehicle. The process to get our money back or any complimentary fixes has been impossible since they immediately operate on a lack of trust. The customer is guilty first - even if you're right. Do NOT go here, it's absolute garbage.

Jay Kim at Virginia Auto Repair has been incredible! I'm on a tight budget and tend to be very untrusting of mechanics and up-selling things you don't need. Jay is honest about what work should be done and what can wait. He's calm and will take the time to explain your options, and will even install customer-provided parts (order online, warranty restrictions apply). His prices are fair. As I said, I'm weary of most mechanics, but I have absolute confidence in Jay. Highly recommended.

Found myself with a persistent check engine light that could not be solved without costly estimates from my manufacturer dealership shop, which is not an ideal scenario for a newer vehicle. I was lucky enough to find Jay who found the exact problem without breaking the bank. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for alternatives to their high priced dealership quotes on any and all repairs.

I just wanna give props to Jay. He is such an honest guy. I had a bad experience with a mechanic over in Arlington and I didn’t have high expectations for Jay’s shop. However, I was pleasantly surprised. His rates are reasonable and he takes extra steps to make sure the car is sound. The parking isn’t the best but well worth navigating around. Lastly, the woman behind the counter, I believe she’s his wife, is super sweet. I highly recommend going here for your car needs.

Jay is an honest mechanic who won't rip you off, and can save you at least half the cost of what your dealer will charge. Iam a recent customer and I am pleased with the visits I have made to his shop. Could be more communicative with customers when your vehicle is finished.

Jay is a master technician. He's as good as you can get at his trade. Been taking my work truck and personal vehicle for 2 years now and never has been a problem. He's tackled everything from oil changes to ac work to complex engine troubles to electrical issues. Always top notch work and very reasonable rates. It's always better to get things done right once.
