I took my Great Grans vehicle in for an oil change, I purchased the $40 -$45 dollar package that was discounted at the time. It was supposed to include a vacuum etc.. I came back and the guy just rang me out said nothing, handed me my receipt and sent me on my way. the car wasnt vacuumed. Most importantly though - the very next day my Gran & I are leaving the Med Center on the 610 during rush hour and the car starts smoking & is suddenly unresponsive, it then shuts completly off before we had time to pull over safely. While waiting for AAA I look over the itemized sheet for the oil change from here and these dolts at walmart checked off EVERY item was good/okay. Wrong! The coolant was depleted & the battery was bad and loose. I wasnt supposed to be with my Gran that morning thank GOD I was or she could have died. Laziness causes costly accidents!

Would have given a Zero star, if that would have been an option. This place is RIP OFF!! I have used their services for mainly oil change only, which include checking for the level of other fluids in the car. The thing is they never checked the coolant level, but marks everything off on their report and I came to know when my car broke down and I could see smoke coming out of it. Worst, it is an expensive repair and would be costing hundreds of dollars.

I bought 4 tires online and they could only install 3 because a lugnut was stripped and if they broke the stud, they can’t fix it. Luckily the guy ringing me out caught it on the invoice and removed it because they were about to charge me for installation on all 4. They also can’t replace tire pressure sensors. And their oil changes seem a little overpriced. I used to get a synthetic blend oil change for $27 in Chicago. Essentially, if there’s anything in depth wrong with your car, don’t bother with a chain like this because their “liability policies” make them turn you away. They also changed my headlight, which requires going up through the wheel well... and now the wheel well cover is only held on by 1 screw instead of 4.

Michelle and her crew were awesome. I got here 10 minutes before they closed and they were still happy to help me with my battery issue

Absolutely awful place. Told us max of 45 min it was nearly 3 hours. We were the second people here when they opened. Had they given us a realistic eta we could have simply gone to the beach for that time but instead kept saying just 15 more min while we sat baking in the sun outside. The area they have for waiting smells of piss. Would not come here again.

These people are terribly slow. I waited two hours just to have my tires balanced. Most of the technicians are old guys just moving like turtles and standing around. One guy was supposed to be working on cars, but was standing at the register talking to the cashier about how terrible the traffic was and how long it took him to get home. Shut up and get to work.

Had a flat while helping daughter move into her new apartment in Galveston. Long story short, Firestone wanted 350.00 to remove the flat and add a new tire! Talk about gouging. WalMart removed the flat and I bought a new tire, complete with road hazard for less than 150.00. Easy decision

Total unprofessionalism. When it is obvious that they do not want to work or do their job it shows. You got a bunch of young/new people there about to handle your car and if the lack of manners or customer service is evident, it is likely your car will suffer as well. Walmart your customer service score is already low, try to make sure that the workers at lease act like they want a paycheck. Rude and unprofessional. Keep that location

Very simple check tires please make sure as going to Dallas. Have been back three , YEA. JULY 4Th holiday waiting at Walmart in Galveston,!!!! due to incompetence, lack of knowledge or training. One supervisor says something the other contradicts. Will call Mgr in AM but going further up the chain as this was a SAFETY issue and should have been a pretty basic tire fix. DO NOT USE. I have all the employees names but feel like they are only as good as they are trained so will Not post them.

2 hours just to get an oil change, I wanted a tire rotation as well, but after 2 hours I had to ask to cancel it. It's also worth noting that this was at 3 o clock on a Thursday afternoon. Not a time I would consider peak hours.

Took nearly 2 hours to change the oil in my truck. Atleast 45 minutes consisted of it sitting in the shop with the hood up and no one touching it. They do what they are supposed to but surely aren't in a rush to get it done. Review edit: I went for another oil change and they surprisingly didn't take 2 hours... But after checking out and reviewing my receipt. It appeared they put 3 quarts too little oil in my truck. (Or as I hoped didst charge me for all 8) So I check my oil before I start my truck to leave and guess what? Oil isnt even touching the dip stick.. HOW DO YOU CHANGE OIL FOR A LIVING AND NOT CHECK THE DIPSTICK BEFORE YOU CALL IT DONE!?!?!?!? I will never change my oil here again. I'll do it myself and make sure it's done right

If you are planning on getting there early, park your car and walk around through the store to get in line at the register. They moved it over by paint and if you wait outside, like 2 ladies and I did, you'll find yourself 5th or 6th in line. Given 3 hour estimate to install 4 tires. Took a little over 2. Great prices and it was done right, just takes longer than it should because of their "assembly line" method of installing. Friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous staff.

I came two months ago to buy a new tire. They didn’t have tires my size for three weeks despite ordering them for me and their system saying it was in stock. Today I came for an oil change and it took them about 2+ hours to do it despite me being the first customer in queue. 1/10

Made the appointment to have the tires I ordered from Walmart installed and they did not have the right size equipment to remove my tires. I waited a whole hour to find out they had no way of doing it. What a waste of time. I found a place right around the block that hand both tires replaced and balanced in 30 min.

The oil was changed for 60 bucks but they offer to vacuum with the package and in the last three oil changes have yet to do it once. I asked about if this time and the young fella behind the counter said: “ I didn’t see them vacuum out your truck, you can go ask if you want, Walmart doesn’t give us a good vacuum cleaner” I just left knowing that they could care less... 3 stars is generous

Tire Purchase and Tire Change From Hell I went to the Walmart Automotive Department at the Walmart in Galveston Island, Galveston Texas 77550. There was only one vehicle being serviced in the entire 4 garage area. I came for one(1) tire replacement. I arrived at 5:40pm and it's 6:54pm and my tire is still not replaced. The workers in the department look at you and walk around not actually doing anything riding the Walmart company clock. The employees in this department in Galveston do not care for customer service satisfaction. The employees have no sense of time either. So do not worry about getting in and out. They will leave your service and start talking with each other. And take their real sweet time with you without fear of any company repercussions.

I was there 9/25/19 for a tire patch (I had a screw in one of my tires). The repair itself was good - that's the only reason why they get two stars instead of one. If you go here, expect a long wait and (if your experience is like mine) poor customer service and communication. I arrived just after 7am, when they were supposed to open; there was already one other customer waiting. No sign of life until 7:30am - they didn't start helping customers until about 7:40am. The man in front of me asked why there weren't open, and the cashier replied that their opening employee didn't show up for work. I can understand that. But there was no apology to the two customers who had been waiting at least 40 minutes for them to open, and we only had an explanation because it was requested. Since there was one person in front of me, they estimated a wait of about and hour and a half until repairs on my vehicle were complete. They collected my information and phone number, so I assumed I would receive a text/call if repairs finished early. I did some shopping and the like, and returned around 9:30am (twenty minutes after their estimated time), figuring that it must be taking longer than expected because they were short-staffed. I sat on one of the benches to wait. Three or four different Auto Center employees, including the cashier, saw me waiting. After over half an hour of sitting there, I decided to get in line at the register to ask about my car. Immediately upon reaching the cashier (BEFORE I said anything), he said, "Your car's probably ready," and reached behind him to get the paperwork for it. So HE KNEW I WAS WAITING FOR MY CAR, and KNEW IT WAS READY, but LET ME SIT THERE WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING. Thank goodness I finally got up to ask, because apparently they would have just left me sitting there indefinitely! No idea how long it had been ready for, since I didn't get a text/call either! I payed, picked up the key, and left. TWO HOURS with one person ahead of me for a TIRE PATCH - after a 40 minute delay opening! - and NO COMMUNICATION when my car was ready for pick up. Could have taken it elsewhere for a much better experience! Won't come back here again.

Highly do not recommend. I bought a battery from here on 9/22. Their reader said the battery is good. Firestones reader and the technician beg to differ. Take the receipt in and they hook my battery up again and claim it’s good at 30 percent charge when we had it charging at Firestone for 45min. Never go there. Never buy their parts.

Don’t come here if you value your time in the slightest. Even with an appointment, you’ll be waiting hours for the simplest things to be done. We have been here over one hour since our appointment time, for 2 tires to be put on, and they haven’t even started yet. Only 2 people in line ahead of us, 5-6 techs in a shop only doing basic maintenance, it should be moving WAY faster than that. Edit: 2 hours later and they have finally begun putting 2 whole tires on for us. They made sure to get through the 5-6 people that got here AFTER us first. This place is a joke, ran by a joke. Lady supposed to be working the counter is too busy smoking or hiding from customers, only one tech seems to do anything with a pace faster than a snail (young guy with a mustache, he deserves a promotion ASAP)

Came here for an oil change. When I arrived I sat outside waiting for someone to come check me in for like 30 minutes. Finally got checked in and decided to go inside to do some light grocery shopping. After a while I noticed it was taking a long time And I hadn't got a notification on my phone, so I went back to check on them. It turns out they canceled my oil change because they didn't have the filter. I pay for my groceries. Ask for my key. . . They can't find it. So I spend the next 30 minutes standing around while they unenthusiastically ask around for my key. I ended up having to wait for somebody to get back from lunch to get my key back. So over an hour of my life taken up, And I didn't even get the oil change. I Won't be coming back here ever again.
