I have been a regular customer of this location for several years. No problems until now. I had my oil changed 10 days ago. Over the weekend, while driving on the freeway, the protective guard, came loose and began dragging on the highway. (I had not hit anything on the roadway to cause this issue.) After I was able to get to a safe place, I realized it was only held on by 2 bolts. There were no other bolts on the guard. I was able to have it removed from dragging any further and placed it in my vehicle. Today I went to discuss what happened at the Kwik Kar facility. The lady who was working took my car and said she would handle it. After a short time, she brought it around. She told me they put it back on with the 2 screws I had given her and with zip ties. My car is only 2 years old and this location has serviced oil changes 90% of the time. She said that it was recorded on their records that I was missing clips on my last visit. What? I told her that no one told me anything about missing clips. I think this was only a way to cover up their mistake. With this being said, just make sure you check your undercarriage guard. This was a scary incident on the freeway.

Worst oil change and tire rotation ever!!! $180, nearly twice the price from a dealership. And the people were the most incompetent I seen running a business. I even had to come home and crawl under the truck to wipe off the oil dripping on my driveway among other issues. The customer in the waiting room that had to come back from the day before because she had issues agreed. They told her to go to the dealership to turn off the oil change reminder light! Shame to have a place like this in Galveston. Horrible owner!!

My wife and I have taken our cars for years to this 61st location for oil changes and have always had a great experience until I took my vehicle in for a maintenance issue. Not only did they over charge me for a Import Direct Ignition Vapor canister set but they charged me more than double what it was worth, never was forthcoming on pricing for the part but the mechanic didnt test the issue out to make sure it was in fact the cause. When I went to go pick up my car no one acknowledged me for about 10 minutes they were either on the phone or on break. Worst experience ever. After 6 years going there I wont go back ever. They took advantage and didn't expect me speaking out.

Watched the head guy take time and patience teaching a newer guy how to work with my odd windshield wipers. A smile on his face and not irritated with the cold & rainy day. Good job!
