Man, these guys are as fair & honest as you’re going to find in the car business these days. I had a breakdown (idler pulley failure) while on a weekend getaway to Galveston in my Chevy Silverado 3500 HD. When I heard the screech & smelled the belt slip, I assumed my alternator was toast. After a quick phone call & no nonsense quote, I knew this was where I wanted my vehicle towed & boy did I pick right. Not only were these guys personable & friendly, but they tested the alternator I had already approved & found it to be good, saving me several hundred dollars. I would highly recommend using this mechanic shop when in Galveston and surrounding areas. They are fast efficient and know how to diagnose a vehicle. My Wife and I went to Galveston 2 months ago for our 1st year Wedding Anniversary and my car sudden broke down a 30 minutes away from our destination. When we finally got to our Air BnB, I called all the Auto Shops in Galveston, but all of their appointments were booked during the rest of our stay and lacked compassion on our situation. Until I found R/T Exhaust & Automotive and spoke with Bobby. He was able to fit me into their schedule the next day! Fortunately we were staying in Galveston for a whole week. I tell you what, this was a miracle! They did an excellent job on replacing the alternator and battery. I got my car back the next day and was working great. Our vacation was saved and we are truly grateful for Bobby and R/T Exhaust & Automotive!

As a local this is definitely the best mechanic on the island hands down. The owner Mr.Bobby is a genuine and nice man. They work diligently and promptly. I had my cars HUB assembly and ABS go out and it was taken care of before I went back to work. The prices here are affordable and the staff is very understanding. I don’t trust most mechanics but RT has my seal of approval.

Bobby the owner , managed to fit me into his schedule today to review an Issue I thought I was having with my 2012 Buick . Although he was packed to the rafters he took time to inspect my car. I was concerned before embarking on a trip and wanted to make certain there would be no problems on the road . It turned out all was good! He declined to take any payment for his quick inspection since there were no issues found . We all know how that might have been different with a less scrupulous mechanic . Bobby is a truly honest mechanic and not the norm in a world charging for everything with the upsell! Thanks Bobby ! You are our go to mechanic in Galveston .

Took my 2011 F250 in today for fuel filter replacement. Bobby waited on me got the truck in and serviced. I am a winter Texan and come here between October and May. Been to several places in the area and always felt taken advantage of because I am out of state. I asked Bobby to check my drive belts and transmission fluid. He said they looked good. If I had taken it to Pep Boys or other local chain stores I am sure they would have tacked on those repairs. I was impressed that he was truthful. I just recommended him to my neighbor at the RV park for work on his Jeep. Will use again when I get back.

My A/C finally stopped working after a year of giving me trouble, of course right in the middle of summer. A friend recommended R/T Automotive to me, and they turned out to be the most affordable, convenient, and friendly option! Bobby took the time to explain what had broken in my car and gave me a detailed quote for how much it would cost to have it fixed. And when I decided to stick with them for the repair, he fixed it within one day, and then showed me exactly what had gone wrong with the compressor. (Basically, it exploded.) I was impressed by how straightforward and honest they were. Would highly recommend them!
