Update responding to owners review: he didn’t tell me he didn’t give a price until he saw it until AFTER he hung up on me. And the thing he said when he hung up was “I don’t have time for this”. I’ve been previously having car issues so I KNEW it was the starter. So I just wanted to know the cost to replace a starter. And he refused to tell me. I understand he wants to see it first but I am simply asking his cost to replace a starter if that is what it ends up being and he wouldn’t answer. I was never rude on the phone. As some one in customer service myself I make a point to be kind. I have three witnesses to the conversation who can attest to that. He says that I failed to mention how he was gonna drive by location and “help me out”, but he was going to still charge me the $60, so that’s not really helping out. Also I didn’t post the last message because I blocked him after the interaction. I never got the message. I didn’t omit it with malicious intent. Also saying I had to pay the tow and the mechanic shop and pay for transportation and hotels because I didn’t hire you is insane considering I blocked you and you don’t know how the story ends. My insurance paid for the tow truck guy to come and charge my car and we were able to drive home. So I actually ended up paying nothing at all that day. So no stress for me. In fact because of the owners bad customer service I saved my self the $60 diagnostic fee and was able to go home spending nothing. Original review: I could give him no stars I would. I originally texted him to ask how long it would take for him to get to us if we needed him. He said 10 min. Excellent start! Then I go to confirm the fee that was on his brochure. He tells me price has gone up and I let him know he needs to change out the flyers and he says he will and I heart that message. Still going well! Then at that point he calls me. He talks about how the tow truck probably will take it somewhere that won’t get to it until Monday (totally fair) and he can work on it if it’s the starter (like we suspect) This is where it goes poorly. I ask him simply if he can give me an estimate, and whether he charges by the hour or by the job. He then says “I’m not doing this. Waste of my time. Good luck” and proceeds to HANG UP ON ME. for asking to get an estimate. See below for the screenshots of the convo that followed. He blames being unprofessional on being on his way to another job and then blames it on me for “questioning” his price increase. You can see that ALL I SAID was he needs to update the brochure. I never once complained about the fee or questioned it. All I wanted to do was confirm how much it would cost before we made a decision. And as he FINALLY confirms himself at the end “to answer your question”, he can’t give an estimate until he sees it. VALID. THATS NORMALL. THAT WAS ALL YOU HAD TO SAY. but he got all emotional and hung up on a customer because “it wasn’t going to go well” after I “questioned his increase”. So definitely stay away from this guy bc if you ask questions he’ll hang up on you and leave you stuck in Galveston after your cruise

This guy was a jerk. Made me feel stupid and when i told him he was unprofessional to a customer he said: “And you haven’t payed me anything. Nor have I ask you for anything. If you feel stupid then that’s on you. Good luck.” I guess he didn’t want my business. I wouldn’t recommend. He didn’t seem like he cared if she helped me or not. Not a good way to get business! I said never mind and went elsewhere. Not necessary!

My family went on a Christmas cruise and returned to a dead battery. The staff at the motel where we were staying tried to jump our car, but our battery was too far gone. I was worried about finding help on a Sunday, but Mark answered my plea. He was very honest and helpful and assisted us in replacing our battery. He's a retired mechanic who still wants to help people. He asks that you pay with cash or one of several cash apps since he's had bad experiences with people cancelling credit card payments. Galveston Mobile Mechanic is highly recommended by our family!

Mark was extremely helpful. Not only did he confirm the appointment with me ahead of time, but he also showed up early. I told him exactly what was happening, and he eased a lot of anxiety that I was having. He jump started my car, diagnosed a problem with my brakes, and showed me how to fix the problem. He told me what maintenance was/was not needed, and told me that he felt bad about charging me the service fee because he resolved the issue so quickly. He is worth every penny, and if you're looking for good service, this is the place to go. Thanks again for the help.

He's worth more than 5 stars. My husband and I went on a mini vacation to Galveston TX, and the alternator went out. If you need emergency service, call Mark! He was quick to respond to my text, picked up a battery and alternator and was out to get our vehicle running again quickly. Mark’s pricing is beyond reasonable, he is super efficient and fun to talk to. If we didn’t have Mark today, we would have had to get a tow to a shop on a Sunday and wait for a technician to get to the repair the next business day (or later). OK, I’ve had the worst vacation, but Mark made this part of my vacation Simple! He diagnosed the problem, committed to a time to show up, arrived promptly, made the repair as promised and charged me a fair price. My truck broke down new year eve, he stopped what he was doing and came help me and my family. I'm from Beaumont but was stuck in a store parking lot with my family. He came found the problem and walked me through the problem, made sure I fixed it right and didn't charge me anything. What was supposed to be a relaxing day at Crystal Beach on our last weekend of the Summer, almost turned into a disaster right as we made the turn onto Bolivar Peninsula at 9am Sunday morning due to a broken drive belt on our 2017 Explorer. We were able to limp to the ferry but ran out of battery power at French Town Road. I googled “Mobile Mechanic Galveston”, not expecting to find anyone on a Sunday morning but Mark picked up on the first ring. We were able to arrange a tow over the ferry to O’Reilly Auto where Mark met us. Luckily, the belt was in stock and we were able to replace it in minutes for an extremely reasonable price. Unfortunately, our beach day had to be cancelled because the belt tore out the air conditioning lines and it was over 100 degrees that day. We ended up driving straight home. I can’t thank Mark enough for answering the phone on a Sunday afternoon and having the tools and experience to help get us back on the road and back home, exhausted and hot, but safely.
