I've been going to Westgate for the last 20 years and they continue to exceed expectations. Thanks Lee and crew! Most recently, they replaced a fuel pump for me, same day, as I had an out-of-town trip planned that evening. Even though they were busy, they got the job done. So, I think this is the first time a mechanic ever saved me money.. My check engine light was on, so I pulled the codes at O’Riley’s and bought the suggested oxygen sensors 2@$200ea! Took them to Westgate, the guys looked over the car and determined that they were malfunctioning because they were dirty and my air filter was dirty. So they cleaned the car and changed the air filter. The check engine light went off and I was good to take my $400 in parts back for a refund! They could have easily changed the parts and charged me for it. They didn’t. I’ll be back for sure!

Having been a mechanic in my younger years, it is difficult to trust someone else with my car. I can tell when a mechanic is pulling a fast one and feeding me a line of bull. Well, I have to tell you, I just had a great experience at Westgate Auto Center. I took my Acura in that had an oil leak. It was leaking from the distributor seal. Phil, the mechanic, told me he could replace the seal for fairly cheap but being the car has 348,000 miles on it, it would be a good idea to replace the whole distributor. Exactly how I would have handled the situation. Offer the inexpensive route and offer my professional opinion of what I would do. The quote for the new distributor installed was around $400. When I picked up the car, the bill was only $324! When has that ever happened to you in an auto shop? Thank you Phil, you have earned my trust and my business!

These folks have been taking great care of my dad and his car for years - so now that I'm in the area, I trust them with my car, too! They're wonderful and honest as the day is long, I highly recommend them! Update 4/2022 - brought my car to them for a repair that another shop quoted at $2.2k minimum... These folks actually looked for the root of the problem, discovered the problem was a cracked hose and not the entire AC system. The cost? 1/4 of what the other shop wanted.

I’ve been using West Gate Auto off and on for 20 years. They have always done right by me. I recently took my 1995 Chevy Tahoe in for repair of a fan noise that it was making. Initially they repaired what they thought was causing the problem, but it ended up, not being the problem that was causing the noise that I was hearing. So when I went to pick up my vehicle, I said I felt that before paying I should get the results that I brought the vehicle in for. Jose agreed, and their technician had actually suggested what else was wrong so they ordered the part and fixed it the next day with no additional charge. I appreciate the fact that they stood by their word of my estimate which was $375 to fix the problem and although they were going to charge me and give my vehicle back to me that they were honest and said that yes, it was still making the same noise, and were willing to make it right. Lee, the owner has always ran his business like this, very honest and willing to work with the customer so they are satisfied. I like keeping my business local here in West Salem and I would recommend them to anyone.

Westgate got me in a week before anyone else in town could. Not only were they exceptionally helpful in getting me back on the road but they also gave me updates on the progress of the repairs. When the final bill came it was much lower than I initially thought it would be and it was below what they had originally told me it would be. I recommend them to anyone who needs their vehicle repaired. I can't say enough nice things. They really are good.

CUSTOMER SERVICE is not overrated with these guys. They have accommodated me in regard to bringing in my older vehicles and providing me written and verbal details of their recommendations. Jose has been transparent over the years and treats all customers with respect... and APPRECIATES having the opportunity to earn my business each time I have a problem. More importantly, the prices are fair and the mechanics do a superb job when fixing problems. Yay! I get to be the 70th review! This auto shop is the best! I called 7 shops in town for prices on a large service and this shop and one other were the only ones that quoted me literally 300-350$ less for the main service I needed. They did that and a couple other smaller repairs and an oil change and my total was still less than what other shops were going to charge for just the large, main service I needed. Also, Jose was the best. He was so patient to answer all my questions throughout the process and is very knowledgeable. My car is in tip-top shape again, I feel confident driving it again and it is all due to this shop! Thanks again!!

From the first call to Westgate Auto, Jose made me feel good about bringing my car in. Not only did he get me in right away, but he worked on a few things in the car that was bothering me. My husband passed away suddenly a few months ago and he left some things undone in the car. Rodolfo fixed the back light so my lift gate would close by itself. He also finished strapping down my seat covers for me. I came in for a front and rear break job and oil change. It’s nice to feel good about a mechanic shop.
