I got my car done last week. Initially suppouse to stay for 2 days, and I have to call, otherwise I never get updates. It took longer than 2 days untill my part arrive. But the job got done, and so far is working great. I totally suggest this place, BUT be aware of waiting time; transmissions aren't easy and not all the parts are available in York. But you can trust on this place and the job. The price is really fair.

Wonderful Staff. I Enjoyed My Experience with Them. I Had a Transmission Leak around the Bell Housing of My F250 and They Worked on My Truck. It was Very Quick Turn Around. I'll Have to To Drive it a little more and See but so far it's doing Fine. They Even Sent Their Son to Pick Me Up When My Truck Was Finished. I Still haven't Put Over 300 Miles on it Yet but I Feel Confident with Their Work.

Stay Away From These People!!! I am a Pastor in York, Pa they kept my truck for 7 weeks and had no clue how to repair my transmission after the 8th week and constant excuses my truck was reposed on their lot as i am sure they called the bank to repo the truck they would not release the truck till they were paid $1300 by the bank !!! Not honest people at all, stay clear of them!!

Having to repair a transmission is a big deal. Several family members and friends have had work done here and recommended them. Didnt disappoint and I'd also recommend them. Price was fair, rebuilt my transmission in a week and after a few hundred miles car shifts great. Really couldn't have been better.

Good, Honest, Reliable Company I brought my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer to York Transmissions for a slipping and over revving transmission. I just the bought the vehicle 7 days before and was having issues with the dealer taking responsibility. A friend recommended York Transmissions and decided to give them a try. Mr. Norman greeted me and stopped what he was doing to attempt to diagnosis my issue. I advised him of my dilemma and he inquired about any warranties I may have with the vehicle. Luckily I bought a Warranty at the time of purchase with the vehicle. Mr. Norman was familiar with the warranty company and took it from there. Mr. Norman and his family kept me updated throughout the repair. Mr. Norman worked with me and the warranty company to find the best solution for my situation. My warranty company opted to replace the transmission and Norman and his team got it done fast. In little over a week's time my vehicle was completed. From start to finish my experience was wonderful. My vehicle is shifting and operating great. I would definitely recommend York Transmissions and Auto Center for your automotive needs. Honest, Reliable, and Efficient: what else could you ask for!

I have use this business since 2018. Norm, Jack and Vanessa have always taken care of my needs. Sometimes at no cost. I have had two different buicks worked on by York Transmission. I am very pleased with the workmanship and the quality they have done with my cars. In the future if I have other transmission problems, there is no question that I would come back. They are the best of the best and 5-star rated.

Was recommended from a co worker about the reasonable prices, browsed through the google reviews. Called for a quote for my 03 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel transmission rebuild an was very reasonable. Took about 4-5 weeks, got it back with a great warranty an everything seems back to normal! Would highly recommend their services!

They rebuilt the trans in my 2008 Ford Explorer for $3000 (lowest estimate I could find) with in 5 days. Had to bring it back day after getting it due to slipping and they replaced the shifter cable at no extra charge. Now it works like new and I’m a satisfied customer and recommend them.

Fair and honest pricing. I had my truck transmission serviced there for a leak from the front of the transmission. They were very fair and honest with me as to what the possible repairs may consist of and the costs. From the time of dropping of my truck till the completion was about 6 weeks. The length of time I am sure was due to the fact that I had told them at drop off that the truck is a 2nd vehicle and I am not in that much of a hurry. I am totally fine with the amount of time it took. I have had the truck back now for somewhere around a week now and have had no issues. Also I must add; during all my interactions with the owners (in person and over the phone) they were very polite. I would definitely recommend this establishment to my friends and family.

I bought this 97 Dodge Ram with a known transmission problem...transmission was rebuilt 30k miles ago so I hoped the internals were ok...unfortunately, I figured out the issue but it was to late and it needed new clutch packs installed...it was severely overheated...the check valve in the cooler lines blocked up. I have the ability to do the job but the truck sat for a month. I stopped by and talked to these guys about rebuilding it for me and they gave me a price that just made sense to let them do it. A few days later it was done and ready to go. I had asked them to replace the rear main oil seal but he didn't do it because he didn't think it was leaking...turns out it's the valve covers...he could've done the part and charged me but he didn't. Great group in here that work very hard and know what they're doing. Take note that they put a 2 year 24k mile warranty on their work too.

Please read my story: York Transmissions is one of the only honest auto mechanic garages I've ever been to! **2014 Ford Focus SE** with Dual Shift Transmission owner here from Maryland. While driving on Route 74-PA from MD, my car stopped functioning normally: the engine was revving very high RPMs, but there was no response from the drive train (transmission) of the car. I made it to Red Lion, PA before getting a message that the transmission was overheating and to stop the car safely- it appeared on the little dashboard screen right above the steering wheel. I shut the car off and spent an hour or so waiting only to discover my car wouldn't start: the battery was more than likely dead from the recent December cold snap. I managed to restart the engine after 10-15 attempts and wiggling the battery + terminal wires, and a check engine light appeared. With the transmission shuddering and hard shifting, I made it to an AutoZone in York, PA, where I had a code reader give me the check engine error, and the store clerk informed me with an informational printout that I not only had a bad battery, but (!) my transmission clutch B gears were stuck engaged! With a new battery installed, I somehow made it to York Transmissions, parked it - without the ability to reverse the car which I found out in their parking lot (!), and left my car there overnight with an apology note for my park job. I spoke with the owner, Jackson, in the morning about my car situation and he immediately impressed me with his in-depth knowledge of Ford Dual Shift transmissions and his genuine and personable demeanor. He contacted me back promptly after inspecting my car, told me he reset the clutch actuators, test drove my car a few times to ensure it was running properly, and that there would be no service charge. He wished me a happy holiday. Transmissions aren't cheap: next to an engine repair, they're one of the most expensive items to replace in a car. Not only is money tight - and I communicated I'd definitely need a bank loan to pay for extensive transmission/clutch/TCM replacement, but it's a week before Christmas. Jackson and York Transmissions were honest and treated me with integrity. Where do you get that level of humanity or service these days? I highly recommend this garage, and if I ever need transmission work, I know I can trust Jackson and his team with my vehicle. Trust is priceless; being honest and kind costs nothing. First let me say that the service here is phenomenal and they are not in business to rip anyone off. That being said, these people are very professional and knowledgeable about transmission rebuilding. I have had 3 cars serviced here over the years and I have been completely satisfied with the service and results of their work. The first car (Cadillac CTS) trans got smoked by a faulty transmission cooler in the radiator. Second car (Ford Focus) , transmission threw a part thru the case, so I purchased a used transmission with 60k on it and had them install it. The third car is an Infiniti Q70 AWD and the internal transmission cooler inside the radiator was being contaminated by coolant. I retained their services yet again and they do not disappoint. Just picked the vehicle up yesterday and all is well so far. Great job guys and thanks for hooking me up yet again! Highly recommend this business, and if you choose to retain their services, you must realize that transmissions are complicated mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and to give them ample time to complete the repairs on your vehicle. Also remember that respect gets you respect, so be nice!

I had my 2016 Hyundai ELANTRA towed there on a Sunday. Monday I called to see what the protocol was since I’ve never been through anything like this before and she said that they would get back with me that day, which never happened. The next several days I would call to ask what the status was and she would just say they didn’t get to it yet come to find out she’s told me days later ( over a week) that the code machine was not Working. She said sternly that she would call me, but she didn’t call me. I would call On a daily to get an update. Finally after a week and a half I call there and she said they ordered a transmission. They ordered a USED transmission that I did not approve of. Not a rebuilt transmission, a used transmission. She never told me it was a used transmission. She gave me a quote over the phone which was different than what i had paid. I feel like the information was not clear to me and I was over charged for a used transmission. The company I work for also has a garage and I talked to two mechanics there and they said it was way too much for a used transmission as well. almost $4000.00 for a used transmission doesn’t seem right.

My transmission crapped out on us half way through the bay bridge headed to Delaware. I spent a couple days doing research and I came across York Transmission. Mind you I live in MD, the guys here at York Transmission are HONEST, they are professionals at their craft. They kept me updated throughout the whole process and even showed me what went wrong and what they were doing to fix the problem. They even upgraded some of the parts since the ones from GM are junk.I couldn’t be more thankful for them, especially when I felt like all the shops around me here in MD were cash grabs. If you’re in need of a GREAT TRANSMISSION SHOP to rebuild your tranny LOOK NO FURTHER… Jackson you’re the man dude !!!
