What a breath of fresh air!! I cannot thank lawrence and the amazing techs over at A+ auto service north charleston enough. I reached out to Lawrence on Memorial Day while on the side of 526, Lawrence immediately setup a tow truck and had a diagnostic and estimate sent to my phone within 3 hours, the tech took 10 photos and explain my concern to me in a was that was easy for me to understand , honest and clear. The fuel injector I needed was only available through the dealership so we were expecting our vehicle back in a little over a week, the day the part arrived they worked me in and got this single dad back on the road ! I will absolutely be recommending A+ to all of my family and friends!

We were in need of an oil change on our Toyota Sienna van while visiting from FL. We had heard from a friend that A+ was the place to go. We called and made an appointment for the next day. The front staff Cameron and Malachi were very friendly and informative. The mechanic did a thorough 10 pt check of the van, changed the oil and filled up all needed fluids while we waited in the clean and very comfortable waiting area. After reviewing the 10 Pt check list we made another appointment to have our brakes replaced (which we knew needed to be done before our drive back to FL). They were able to work us in the next day. They pointed out that my previous work was good and holding strong and told me about other issues I didnt know I had. UPDATE: After my negative review, A-Plus responded proactively. Senior service writer Malachi called personally to apologize for any confusion, explaining my original quote came from an inexperienced staff member. Malachi sent a revised quote with the oxygen sensor at $190 (compared to the previous $430 and my online find of $135). While I appreciate their customer service recovery effort, the overall experience still left me uncomfortable. Since this was my first negative experience with A-Plus, I've adjusted my rating accordingly. However, I've already scheduled this repair with another shop. *** My trusted auto repair shop just lost my business with their excessive pricing. When my check engine light indicated an oxygen sensor issue, I brought my car to A-Plus instead of the dealer ($375 quote) hoping for a fair price from my regular shop. After convincing me to pay for a $125 diagnostic, they quoted $430 for an aftermarket oxygen sensor—$55 MORE than the dealer price! They even suggested replacing both sensors for nearly $900. I found the exact same aftermarket part online for only $135. While I understand businesses need profits, this 300% markup feels like a betrayal from a shop I've consistently recommended and trusted for years. Sadly, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

I can’t say enough good things about A+ Auto in North Charleston. After dealing with a persistent engine sputter in my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek for more than six months, I had already been to three different shops. Each one replaced the ignition coil and sent me on my way, only for the issue to come right back within a couple of days. It was frustrating, expensive, and seemed like no one could actually get to the root of the problem. That changed when I happened to stop at A+ Auto. On my way from a business meeting in Bon Secours St. Francis, my check engine light started flashing and I smelled burning plastic. I quickly pulled off I-526 and found this shop by chance. It turned out to be the best stroke of luck I could have asked for. From the moment I walked in, I was met by Malachi and (I believe) Todd, who were incredibly patient and helpful. They immediately spent time under the hood just to give me a tentative idea of what was going on—even before any service was officially agreed upon. They understood I needed to be back in western North Carolina by late Friday afternoon and made it a priority to get me safely back on the road. Not only did they diagnose the real issue that other shops had missed, but they explained everything clearly and without any pressure. The main culprit turned out to be inexpensive aftermarket parts installed by the prior mechanics and leaking valve cover gaskets that were dripping onto the spark plugs—causing the smell and misfires. They also pointed out a few other repairs I should keep in mind for the future, but again, never once tried to push unnecessary work. They simply cared about making sure I understood what was going on with my vehicle. What impressed me most was the level of diligence, honesty, and passion these guys brought to their work. They took more than 20 minutes to walk me through everything, answered all of my questions, and genuinely treated me like a valued customer rather than just another ticket. With the help of Malachi, Todd, and Jayden, my Crosstrek finally runs the way it should after many months of frustration. A+ Auto has master technicians for numerous makes, including Subaru, and it shows in the quality of their work. Although I only stumbled upon them by chance, this will absolutely not be the last time I trust them with my vehicles. Thank you again, Malachi, Todd, and Jayden, for your kindness, professionalism, and for finally solving an issue that had been a thorn in my side for far too long.

Reporting back~ Towed in by AAA. All staff were professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Sadly, my car had an insurmountable transmission failure. Their diagnostic report was very helpful. My only suggestion is if you use them, get an idea on their traffic flow at the time.

A plus Auto has a dynamic team that upholds high standards regarding: Professional Customer Service Time Management Human Factors. Time was of the essence. The plan was to transport a vehicle to TX but it wouldn't start. So I called A Plus thinking it would need a battery. I paid for a diagnostic and found exactly what was the problem....not the battery. A transporter was scheduled but I needed to catch a flight before it arrived. Outstanding Service for a stranded snow bird and his dog. My car broke down while traveling to Florida. This shop deserve a 9.5 star 🌟 I have a 2018 Jeep Crap-Piss, which the clutch went out, couldn't put it into gear. Ran into to the owner and service advisor Malachi were a great help and great customer service. The shop listed to my issues and consider to listen to my issue. My gladly to say that is a great family ornated shop. No, I have no umbrella relative working at the shop, I mean this is a shop believes in people (OF) the community. Such as have values, leadership, and ownership on what they take pride on what they do. I promise the shop some hot bagel's, an old gratitude by customers when I was coming up as a mechanic in Long Island NY. Oh P.S. the Jeep running great, shift gears smoothly. Thank you so much.
