After two visits, my vehicle was still not properly repaired. Soon after the service I found a broken hose clamp and a heater control valve with one of the hose arms snapped, even though it initially looked intact. These problems were not there before. Communication was also terrible. This shows poor workmanship and zero accountability. I won’t be returning.

We had a mishap with our civic-our front right wheel got a nasty dent-Rickey took great care of us, he arranged for a truck to come over, pick up the car and got our wheel replaced with the appropriate tire for a very fair price. With as much as I didn’t want to do this, I am having to leave a negative review. I want to begin by saying every person we interacted with from the front desk to the technicians were very nice and answered questions we had. Two weeks ago, we brought my boyfriend’s truck in and paid $150 for a diagnostic. Per the testing, it came back that the spark plugs needed to be replaced and the transmission needed to be flushed. We wanted to wait for the transmission flush and focus on spark plugs first. We took the truck into the shop 1/16 for a spark plug replacement on Saturday, 1/17. We picked up the truck and within the same day of the repair, the check engine light was back on. It began having the same issues accelerating and driving that it did prior to the repair. We took it in to be scanned and were told that the O2 sensors needed to be replaced along with a cleaning of the MAF sensor. The codes were cleared and we were informed if they came back on, a repair was needed. The check engine light was back on the same evening. When talking to Rickey, he stated the truck had several codes during the initial diagnostic. These were not addressed with us during the diagnostic, only the spark plugs and transmission. We were quoted over $700 to replace the O2 sensors. Despite numerous attempts during the week, I was not to get into contact with Gabe (the owner). His staff stated he would call back end of day Thursday and I didn’t hear anything. He finally called me back Friday and we spoke regarding the next steps. Based on the experience, we have decided to get a second opinion at another shop. Again, the staff were amazing and beyond kind.

Moving my business to A+ Auto service after being a long term customer with Hyundai dealership and Geralds Tires. Tired of my car coming back to me worse than I gave it, missing parts, car serviced poorly or not at all. A+ staff were so kind, professional, and friendly. Explained things to me clearly. We brought our car in on a Saturday for a specific noise during light acceleration and an overdue oil change. After diagnostics, we were told the noise was from the CV axles (and that brakes were also needed). We agreed to replace only the axles, quoted at $1,600+, and were told the car would be ready Monday or early Tuesday. From there, communication completely broke down. We received no proactive updates. Multiple calls were routed through an AI system with no callbacks. When I finally reached a person, I was told the staff member handling our car had been out sick and that parts were delayed due to a storm. Totally understandable — but no one called us, despite us coordinating work, school, therapy appointments, and Uber with one car. We were then told the car would be ready Wednesday, but again received no call. On Wednesday, we were told one axle never arrived and repairs would be done Thursday — again, no prior notification. When I picked the car up Thursday and paid $1,500, the exact same noise was still present within a quarter mile of driving. I immediately returned. After initially being told it was due to not replacing the brakes (it was not a braking noise), they test-drove the car and then said the real issue was a gunked-up timing chain/belt, which they “fixed” with another oil change and flush. The noise stopped. That raises a serious concern: why were $1,500 axle replacements done when the original issue was misdiagnosed and resolved with an oil change? Had this been correctly identified, we would have made very different decisions. Between the misdiagnosis, repeated missed timelines, lack of communication, and unnecessary expense, this experience was extremely frustrating and left us without confidence in the work performed.

This was my third visit in a row to A+ Auto, and unfortunately it confirmed an ongoing pattern. This is not an isolated incident. Each time, the main issues have been poor communication and very slow timelines, even when I’ve schedule an appointment ahead of time. I dropped my car off the week of New Year’s and was told it wouldn’t be looked at until the following Tuesday due to the holiday, which I completely understood. Tuesday came and went with no update. I called Wednesday at the end of the day and was told they got busy but would look at it Thursday and have an update by Thursday afternoon. No one called Thursday. No one called Friday. I called again Monday morning and was told someone would call me right back. No call before end of business. I was then told my vehicle had never been put on the schedule and had been sitting there for an entire week. I was told the earliest it could now be looked at was Wednesday. After contacting the manager Tuesday, someone did finally look at it and provided updates at lunch and end of day. I was told the diagnostic showed “nothing wrong” and to come pick up the car. However, the inspection itself was never reviewed with me. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, I saw recommendations for tires, brakes, & few items that had not been discussed. They still charged me $150 to let my car sit for near two weeks and give no direction on my vehicle. I’m ok to pay this just to get my car back and not have do deal with them anymore. Between the missed callbacks, being left off the schedule, and having my car tied up for over two weeks total across visits, I lost confidence. While the work itself may be decent, the communication and timelines consistently outweigh it. For my own sanity, and to avoid putting my family’s vehicles through the same experience - we’ll be taking our cars elsewhere. There are shops that do quality work without taking weeks or leaving customers in the dark. Telling folks they will call them back and then ghosting them is in their training manual. You will hear that every time you call. Based on my experience, A+ Auto felt more like a D+ when it comes to timeliness and communication.
