I stopped by Academy Sports to purchase baseball gear for my two boys. I asked an associate for help and was told someone would be right over, but after waiting more than 10 minutes, no one came. I then approached another employee — a blond male with glasses — and politely said, “Excuse me, I’m looking for baseball gloves for my son and need help.” His response was dismissive and he sounded annoyed. When I asked about sizing and how to identify right-hand gloves, he sarcastically said, “These are all the gloves and you can tell left from right,” then walked off.
Extremely disappointing customer service. I left and bought everything from Dick’s Sporting Goods instead — and I won’t be shopping at Academy Sports again.

I have been driving by this location for years and never thought about going in, until I needed some hats. After walking in the door, I was surprised that it looked nothing like I imagined. The store was sectioned off by sport/activity/product to help you easily find what you’re looking for. This is super helpful, especially if you’re on a time crunch, and want to get in and out in a jiffy. You can pretty much find anything you need here, Golf gear, Exercise equipment, Soccer gear…They have it! Fishing gear, Coolers, Boots and Jeans…They have that too! I love this place. I was able to get what I needed, and the prices were affordable too. I will definitely come back again soon.
Highly recommended for all of your sporting, camping, athletic, fishing, tailgating, swimming, grilling needs and more!!!

Never, ever take their store credit card! It’s the worst store credit card ever! I bought sports gear for my kid this fall, and they pushed extremely hard for me to sign up for their credit card. Unfortunately, I agreed. I used it only once, yet I was repeatedly charged financial fees for several months without any notice from them. The bank they use felt almost fraudulent.
I called to speak with their supervisor, and he was absolutely NOT helpful—unwilling to waive the charges and even threatened that he would not waive any financial fees if I closed the account!!
The store itself is good with reasonable prices, but whatever you do, do NOT take their store credit card!!!!

I will never buy from academy. Terrible and rude sales associate. I had planned to purchase a fire arm but associate (older male) ignored me until i directly asked for assistance in which he proceeded to brush me off condescendingly. A “sorry, i am waiting to get my license” would have sufficed, but he went on some tangent about how i would have to hire him if he got fired. Mocking me basically. Suffice to say, dont expect my money.
