Worst experience EVER. Walked in because I had low tire pressure sensor light needed checked so I could drive an hour home safely. 4 employees behind the counter, no customers in the waiting room, and they wouldn't check my tire without an appointment because "it was connected to the vehicle". I will never be a customer of Alaska tire service based on the unfortunate customer experience today.

I have been using the Eagle River location off and on for the past 17ish years. The team members at the counter and even the staff have always been helpful, supportive, and nice. I have also referred others to this location and have never been told of a bad experience. I've had leaky tires checked expecting to need a patch or a replacement tire, but was informed my valve stem had a slight leak, or a broken valve stem. They fixed it with no charge, or minimum charges. I've brought my ATV tires in to have the seals broken so I could put tubes in (usually at no charge) but I always offer to pay, and if not, I'll tip the tech for taking the time to help me out. I won't say they hit it out of the park each and every time, but for me, my family and my friends, I have no complaints. Sorry to see others have had not so great of an experience, but I use them and will continue to use Alaska Tire Service. Thank folks!

Excellent "Old School" Customer service and Repair! Recently Moved to AK from Colorado and got a flat... Not knowing where to take it or who to trust, I was referred to Alaska Tire Service from an AAA vendor. Went in on a Monday to get winter tires and they were able to not only have winter tires in stock in December but got me in the next day to install them!!! Great people from the front door all the way into the shop. Will be going back for more tires and other preventative maintenance in the future for sure.

Myself and a friend went here to get tires put on rims and get the wheels mounted on the vehicle. We were denied service because they said that the tires we wanted to use wouldnt be safe and in order to avoid liability. So for safety reasons they wouldn't put them on the vehicle and they wouldn't even put them on the rims for me. Due to their safety concerns I had to leave on these tires which have steel band showing through the rubber and there about to pop any second.. I've included pictures of the tires that were on the vehicle that we had to drive away with and also pictures of the tires that we wanted to get mounted... To summarize I'm pretty disappointed with the service that we received today.

DO NOT GO HERE! They will take your money, damage your equipment, and compromise your safety all without apology. I took in 4 wheels to have new tires mounted and balanced. After paying and TIPPING, I went to load the wheels into my truck and noticed that they used tape and steel weights on my alloy rims. You NEVER use steel weights on alloy rims unless they are specialty weights (they were not) for two reasons: - Alloy wheels do not have rims designed for them and they will fly off in the first couple hundred miles - If they don't damage the rim on installation, the dissimilar metals will accelerate corrosion that will degrade the wheel After pointing this out they scurried to rebalance the wheels and add tape weights, which was alright until I noticed that they mounted one of the directional tires backwards as well. At this point I was less than happy and inquired about a refund at the desk only to be given the option of them further rectifying their mistakes... for FULL price still. I declined and told them I would take my business elsewhere. So, this shop was about to send me on my way with a backwards tire compromising the safety of my vehicle and with steel weights that inevitably would have shot off each wheel to either further damage my vehicle or hit another vehicle. I will never return here and if you have had work done here, please inspect your vehicle or have it inspected in case they have endangered you as well.

The manager Joey is not only the rudest manager in customer service that I have ever had to deal with, but is verbally abusive, dismissive and likes to refuse customers quotes and or appointments to get work done. I gave this man one chance after he refused to give me an accurate written quote in the dead of winter for my blower motor that went out and was a dangerous situation. Icing windshield and windows and no heat in sub degree weather conditions. I ended up buying tires this year from them because they are the only ones locally who carry my brand. The other employees were always kind and considerate, but this man Joey was always toxic acting towards everyone and seems a bit unhinged in my opinion. I have spent alot of money on tires there that are supposed to be under warranty along with repairs or service on them. I brought my vehicle back for an oil change weeks ago and to check one tire that had a very slow leak. I was told by the employee named Zack that it was a valve stem and was fixed. However, yesterday my tire sensor was on and so I called to ask to bring it in again and this man Joey (manager) who is the overly heavy man at the front desk,answered the phone and was again toxic and rude trying not to have to have my car returned. He stated they were too busy and had an attitude when I told him the tires are under warranty and the issue is still happening. I had to insist that he at least make an appointment for today. He was nasty and arrogant and acted like it was a put off once again to do his job like he acted last year when I went in there. So after this call, I realized I at least needed air in the tire in the meantime and chose to drive there instead of call back in hopes to not deal with him again. When I walked in it was him again, and he acted put off and had a definite power trip going on and told me to pull my car down to the last bay. All the other employees were nothing but nice except for him as usual. Then this morning, I filed a complaint with their corporate office informing corporate of my dealings with this manager Joey. I knew most likely I would be treated poorly again during the appointment and sure enough, I was. I wanted it documented in case. When I got there, I could hear this manager Joey talking on the phone and then saying how the owner refused to call as corporate ironically had just contacted them. He then proceeded to talk about me to his entire staff with a customer present, not realizing I was sitting there waiting for my car to be fixed once again. I stood up and announced myself and told him he will not be allowed to speak to women in Alaska this way nor me and that it was in fact me who contacted corporate before going in for my scheduled appointment. He verbally launched on me and then told me to take my car and leave. This man is in my opinion possibly mentally ill. I said no, that it was being repaired and the employee Zack agreed that it was almost done but this guy Joey was on a nasty power trip and insisted to get out. I informed him that he was being recorded and that corporate has a recorded incident # on him for abusing customers representing Midas' name. I then called corporate and told them that the owner was refusing to handle their direction to resolve this abuse and distainful behavior by this manager Joey and that I wanted to escalate the matter to corporate outside the franchise. My car was pulled up to the front after the repair and I wished Zack well and his family and told him I would never be back again. If anyone else reads this review, make sure as a woman, you bring a man with you when dealing with this manager, Joey. He deserves to lose his position for abusing members of the community with his position. I have asked corporate to please contact me and hope that they remove this man as manager so that he can no longer continue treating people this way. Shame on you JOEY!

I put aftermarket caps on the tirestems DO NOT do that they seize to the stem. The staff explained the error in my ways, and fixed my mistake. New stems new pressure sensors. Lesson learned. Staff was nice and helpful would recommend them anyway, will trust them for future tire needs.

So I call nonstop starting at 7:48am to get a tire change appointment because I know phone lines get crazy and this shop opens their phone line a few minutes sooner than 08:00am. That's fair. But you're gonna tell me that I finally get through at 7:59am after hearing the automated voice go on about it being closed for 11 minutes and they're full for the day and tomorrow suddenly? Interesting. It's a quick shop to get tires changed. It's unfortunate.

I went in on moments notice, no knowledge of tires or how to upkeep. Had wobbling in the highway and pulled off. These boys did not disappoint. They got me in quickly with 5 kids on standby, and very little notice. They were quick, kind, and efficient. I wish I could tip more but I’m thankful for the experience which was meant to be stressful, was turned into a community service that I’ll never forget. Thank you team.
