My second time with ALMAR. The first was a few years ago when I was selling a motorhome and the buyer arranged a pre-sale inspection here. It went well. This visit was to replace the starter on my little Pontiac. I used Yelp to find a provider and ALMAR was the most responsive. Not the cheapest but the final price was only 10% above the estimate they provided online. I'm pleased with the service though not so much the cost. Anyway, a good solid repair.

I came to the shop for three services to be performed on my truck. The services were oil change, tire rotation, and NC safety and inspection. I was charged for all three, but the tires were not rotated. How do I know? The rear right tire was painted with a blotch of white paint, so I could tell if the tire was moved to another location on the truck. When I got home I remembered to check. No rotation. Was the oil really changed? I will never know, but I must assume it wasn't. Years ago my father told me that service stations sometimes cheat their unsuspecting customers by not actually rotating tires, but charging for the service as if it was performed. Well, service stations aren't around anymore, but the practice still continues in auto shops. This is in response to the owner's reply to my review. The review is definitely about your shop. You were not able to find any record of it because your employee misspelled my name and address. A photo of the bill is attached to prove this is true. I do not want to contact you or be contacted by you. Trust has been broken. Nothing you say or do will convince me to come to your shop again. One more thing - a Costco discount was applied to my invoice as requested, but the clerk told me that Costco discounts for oil changes and tire rotation are not part of the Costco discount program. That fact should be noted on the Costco discount voucher. I will let Costco know.

Great place to have vehicles serviced. Honest and fair pricing. Before I sold my company, I used to have them work on my entire fleet. They always took care of our problems as fast as they could get the parts. Super reliable and always honest about what should be done to the vehicle. I highly recommend them. There aren’t many places left like ALMAR Auto.

I called about getting 4 new tires for my vehicle because my tires started to bald. It was because of an alignment issue. Frank let me know it would be around $750 out the door which I thought was a good price. However, after the work was finished, the total came out to nearly $900. Don't tell someone one thing if you do another. Then, they told me to come back in 4 months for another alignment because the issue was so severe. If you fixed the issue, why would you need another alignment 4 months later? No thanks. Although the car is running smoothly, I won't be back because lack of trust.

I purchased a classic car from Rusty. I visited his shop several times and spent several hours there on each visit. Once I saw Rusty interact with his customers, I knew I was dealing with an honorable man. I have spent many years of my life in the automotive business and I know how it is supposed to be done. Rusty shares my principles as to how to treat his customers and how to run a business in today's climate. He listened to each customer and you could tell the customers trusted their car to Rusty's group of technicians. The business world needs more people like Rusty.

Ive been to this shop two times while living in Charlotte dealing with some check engine lights, its the only local shop I would bring my car to besides a dealership (which is way more expensive). I came to this shop on referral from a friend. After a pretty scary drive on the slick highway, I booked an appointment with them and was able to get in quickly. Upon arriving, I immediately felt safe and listened to. They got a quote for me quickly and we scheduled the appointment to get everything done. Morning of my service, they were ready for me with everything needed, I just had to wait for them to get done. The entire time I was kept in the loop and felt like they actually cared about me as the customer, instead of the monetary gains. I had a really great experience here. The staff is very knowledgeable. I have been having alot of issues with my car and the mechanics here actually listened to my concerns for repair. I didn't feel rushed and they explained my repairs to easily understand. The staff took their time with me at the front and on the phone. They are very organized and clean and they have the coolest, retro museum style waiting area, i would go for that alone. They staff gave me several options for repair and the prices are also very reasonable. I trust the staff and mechanics and i would highly recommend this shop especially if you live in the area. They also have a very nicely stocked refreshment area. I would definitely go back for future services

From start to finish, the team was a pleasure to work with.
