This is the only place I will take my car! Even after moving an hour away, this is where I go, because the owner Joe is an honest mechanic! He will tell you if you can wait on replacing your brake pads. He told me on multiple occasions (with different cars) to just wait until my next oil change and we'll check them again! A good friend suggested American Brake and I can confirm that Joe and the staff at American Brake are the best!

Highly professional, quality shop. Have had my brakes done there, and they do a fantastic job. Owner/management wants to take care of the customer, and they do just that. It's hard to find a shop that you can trust these days, but these are quality, trustworthy folks. Hoping to keep my 2012 Highlander running a long time (at 170k now), and these folks will help me do it. Thanks for continued great service!

Great service! Joe is the most honest mechanic u can find!!! Dealership gave me $2800 to fix my engine. Joe knocked it down to $200!!!!! Big hustle turned to be just a simple water pump sensor. Please give this establishment your car service needs! We need ppl like him to stay in business.

Great service! They are responsive and listen. I have aa 2004 Navigator that needed a new wheel hub and they quickly assessed to problem and repaired it, while two other places could not solve it, wasted my precious time, and made other unnecessary repairs. I highly recommend ABR!

It’s such a relief to have a mechanic I can trust. As a female it’s difficult to find trustworthy places to take your vehicle. Joe is fast and honest and always has such professionalism I couldn’t imagine ever going elsewhere. Not to mention his prices are always accurate and fair. Joe is an all around great guy and pleasure to do business with. I’ve been taking vehicles here for years and highly recommend for any needs.

Almost cost me thousands of dollars! Glad I got a second opinion. I used to take all four of my family's Hondas to this place, but lately it seems they've gone down hill. My last couple visits weren't great, but this one takes the cake. My wife's car (a 2010 Honda Accord) had been making a rattling sound. I had already googled the issue and found a few Youtube videos convincing me it was likely the timing belt (based on where it seemed like the rattling was coming from, and that the sound matched the videos exactly). When I told Joe that, he kind of looked at me like I had two heads, but he did say they'd take a look. Well, they called the next day to say the engine had been bone dry, that my wife had gone 8,000 miles over the mileage where the oil needed to be changed (which turned out to be a mistake on their part - just didn't subtract properly - it was overdue for an oil change, but not THAT overdue), and although they put more oil in it to try and save it, they were unable to do so. They said I was going to need a new engine, and they don't replace engines there but they would buy the car from me as-is for "a couple hundred bucks". Of course I said "No thanks" to that generous offer. I then took the car to another shop, told them NOTHING this time about what I thought it was, or about my encounter at American Brake & Foreign Car Service. And you know what the other shop found? It was the timing belt!! They replaced it and the car runs fine now. Very glad I got a second opinion. And of course I will not be back to American Brake & Foreign Car Service.

Very disappointed- while you may get slighter cheaper service, you will pay for it expoonentially. 2 indicents now: one was standard break change that wore down within 3-4 months. I called and they offered to replace for free...the second was an $800 totar replacement; not even 10 months later (20k miles), the vehicle needs the SAME rotor replaced. These things are supposed to last 70K miles - another $800 spent (a different shop) and the last time I am going to this place.

I've had bad luck with mechanics from overpricing to taking advantage of me as a woman. I found this place on Yelp and Google and I am so happy I did!!! Joe and the team displayed exemplary customer service. My brakes are working better than ever. They did not try to take advantage of me at all and they were very respectful. Also reasonably priced. I will be using them again should the need arise. Very happy with my service!

Joe and his guys are the absolute best. They don't try to over sell, or sell you things that you don't need. They do the service you need at a very fair price. I've been going to him for a couple years now and have never been disappointed. He stands behind his work and makes sure that the customer is satisfied. I've recommended him to anyone that I've known that needs a mechanic.

I bought the car that just had the front pads installed at this place on most grooved set of rotors I've ever seen in my life. Plus, number of other things done to this car at this very shop. You literally scammed your customer and therefore me too, as I now have to fix all these amateur mistakes. And you call yourself a professional shop, what a joke!

Found someone I can trust! My dealership told me I needed to replace a cylinder head in my engine ($3600), and replace my engine mounts ($1000) just to pass my emissions inspection on my 2006 H3. Five different friends urged me to call Joe for a second opinion. (It says a lot when all the people you trust point you in the same direction.) Joe worked to fit me into his schedule. He diagnosed a few simple problems and fixed my car right away. He communicated everything effectively and treated me fairly. His staff was great to work with. At the end of the day, I only paid $1400, and I get to keep the car that I love for a few more years. What I really liked about this experience was that I didn't feel I was being condescended to or taken advantage of (like at the dealership). Joe helped me understand which repairs were essential and which could wait. No sales pressure. No BS. Wish I'd known about this shop years ago!

I went to go get brakes done because i heard them squealing regularly. After taking a look, the repairman told me that because its not driven often, the pads are actually just fine and it didnt need anything. Honest repairmen are very very hard to find. They didnt even charge me for taking the wheels off to check!

Quoted me $875 for a spark plug and coil change on a 2013 VW Tig: this is around $200 in parts and about an hour of labor. When I complained, they reduced the quote to $680 or something like that. Is their labor charge $400/hour? It's like a reverse auction to find out how much of a chump I am! When I went to pay the $100 diagnostic fee, they'd given themselves a $25 tip for "Shop Supplies". What shop supplies?? Well, apparently, it's "standard" that everyone just pays $25 extra for nothing. Far be it for me to suggest how to run a business, but why not lead with an honest quote and then slowly try to rip me off later?

Ive been taking all the cars I've owned over the past few years here and have yet to be disappointed. Recently I bought a Toyota Tundra with higher milage on it and before I signed the paper work I took it to American Break service for a pre purchase inspection. They pointed out some things that I totally looked over which ended up saving me a few grand off the purchase price! The guys here are very professional and friendly with no BS pricing like other shops. I highly recommend taking your vehicle here!

These guys are awesome. They found a problem with my engine/transmission even when the dealership couldn’t for a fraction of the price. Neil diagnosed it and saved me a lot of money. Very appreciative.

I have known Joe for nearly 30 years! He is kind and smart and honest. A gentleman. I am a woman who worked as a manager for a short while in another shop when I met Joe those 30 years ago. He is fair and I appreciate having someone that I can trust to take my vehicle to. The shop is not only a brake repair business. They are vastly capable of completing most any repair. They have been at that location for nearly three decades also! That says a lot right there. I highly recommend this shop. Not open on weekends - but open Monday through Friday 7-5.

Joe and his team did a great job with a unique repair I had for my car. Friendly service and reasonable rates. Definitely go here first if you need a trusted mechanic in East Cobb.
