Rude and inconsiderate to say the very least about this place. Called to inquire about a motorized scooter/wheelchair because my husband is on temporary disability due to surgical reasons and he cant use one of his legs. Explained that being new to a wheelchair, having to manually maneuver himself for 2 or 3 hours through a mall or something would be tiring. Associate replies with "just be glad you have arms to use". This is how a company operates? I would have that ass fired on the spot!!! Will never ever recommend this place to anyone for any reason what so ever. I am also letting it be known any and every way possible through whatever means possible, the way this company handles customers/potential customers.

I saw the negative reviews and needed to add my experience. It was last year in July. I called to see about renting a scooter for a week. My experience was POSITIVE. No negative comments and very helpful. I highly recommend AMERICAN MOBILITY.

AAA++++ Experienced very high quality management, they worked with us in every possible way to get us the best scooter, worked with our income and gave us a fair trade for our used bike! highly recommend this company ! Thank you all so much!

Professional service provided in a friendly, sincere, and conscience fashion. A difficult job of troubleshooting issues in my Permobil power chair and affecting repairs was handled very well. Communication of the status of the ongoing work was excellent.

Less than one star. I sold an ad to American Mobility and they refuse to pay. John Vath avoids our calls and never had any intention of paying what he contracted for. Now we are forced to go to small claims court. Now that I have read all of these other bad reviews I see he is just a truly bad person. DO NOT SHOP AT AMERICAN MOBILITY THEY ARE TRULY A HORRIBLE COMPANY THAT CARES NOTHING FOR THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITY!!

I had an international vacation planned with my honey for months. 3 days prior to the trip he broke his arm and leg. This mobility store was the ONLY one open on Saturday. The gent behind the counter was so helpful and found me what I needed. Had it not been for them, I would not have been able to go, period. So grateful!

Purchased in feb. No communication after the sale. Late April now no tag, car not even in my name yet. The owner was nice as is the car. But no paperwork is unacceptable. So they get one star.

Interested in either purchasing or renting a quality lift chair, I had a wonderful phone conversation yesterday with Jennifer, the owner of American Mobility Inc. in Sarasota, Fl. She couldn't have been more helpful or informative. Jennifer was very patient with my barrage of questions, and laid out some very feasable options for my wife and I to consider. My general impression is that this a store and a person that I would be very comfortable doing business with, a company that will go the extra mile to make sure that their customers are completly satisfied. After talking with Jennifer, I can safely say that this is the company we will be doing business with. Don N Rochester Hills, Michigan

A word of caution!!! John Vath is the ultimate salesman. He has been in the sales business all his life. He will tell you everything you want to hear. He has an answer for every objection. He presents the illusion of trust and honesty. He will lure you into believing him, and then sell you an inferior product that is overpriced. He has tragic life experiences that may sway your decision making. Be wise, alert, and shop other stores. . His deals may not be the best. Do not sign anything immediately!!!

TMS is the worst and unfaithful BUSINESS I ever had EXPERIENCE in my life. I consigned a merits 4wheel pioneer4 scooter with this store on Feb 27 2019. JENNY a sale who served me said she going to call me as soon as if my scooter sold. One month later I asked my friend to pick it back cause I didn’t have any contact from her or a TMS. I found out they sold my scooter three days after I brought it to consignment. I asked money for my scooter from the owner Mr. Vath he said he was not going to give me any money and he then provided me a bill written by him on a paper that I still owe him for repair my scooter. For the details everyone can find in BBB website CASE# 90231221

I did business with American Mobility for several years with no problem. In 2014 I went in to purchase new scooter batteries. I am disabled, so I called from the parking lot to have someone get the batteries, which are very heavy. A man I'd never seen came out 10 minutes later and asked what I was doing there. I explained. No one had been given the message. The guy was rude and belligerent for no reason, and lied about the circumstances of the store. I will never go back.

John the owner, told me he would purchase my wheelchair lift after husband passed. It was not very old and the cost was a lot, it was the platform elevator lift, and stairs with deck. After months of back and forth setting up times for him to come to my home and him never showing up he finally sent a person to pick up entire unit and he was going to pay me as with a check from John. The man came, looked at unit and said all it needed was a fuse, took unit but didn't have a check so John said he would send me check. I have called, texted, left messages repeatedly and everytime John says yup he would send check. It has been over 8 months nothing from him and now he will not return my calls. I have been very patient and this whole ordeal has been very sad. I loss my husband and this man said he would help me but he lied. I would never do business with him and I will be contacting BB and Yelp.

This company has less than stellar business practices. We purchased a charger for my husband's scooter and was assured by the salesman that it would work for his scooter and was told if it didn't work we could return it. It didn't work and when we tried to return it they advised him that he could only get store credit, something not mentioned at the time of the sale. Of course they were willing to apply the credit to the purchase of a new scooter, along with a trade-in of his old scooter.... Well, I guess they need the $133.00 worse than we do because we'd rather pay more at a different store than deal with dishonest people. Also, they do not keep dependable hours. We've been to the store two times, during business hours, in the past week and found them closed. BUYER BEWARE!

I stopped in to have my scooter lift looked at fully expecting to have to make an appointment. But luck would have it the guys were able to look at it right then. They fixed my problem and were very polite and conscientious. They test drove my car twice to make sure there were no further issues. I was very happy and it was not an arm and a leg! Very happy and I will use them in tne future should I need anything.

Very Poor Customer Service. I would give 0 stars also. I too am a witness and advocate of Ms. Walker. As a lawful Advocacy Advisor, my client, Ms. Walker was not presented with a full cheque after her scooter was sold. She is the equitable title holder and as she is the Surety for the principal, she has the right to subrogation. My company called on behalf of Ms. Walker and once her name was mentioned they kept sending the call to Johns voicemail. We are in the process of recovering during our discovery of their books. We had a great experience getting our wheelchair van. Dustin is over the top amazing!! He is so thorough and honest, walking you through every detail and scenerio to make sure you are getting exactly what you need. He is so genuine and you can tell he truly cares about what he does and the people he works with. It's already so daunting dealing with a disability and having to think about things you never thought you would need to consider. Dustin and the Mobility store made it that much easier knowing they had our back. Couldn't recommend higher!!!!!

My husband, on his own, purchased a scooter in 2010; the experience was excellent with purchase of products and assistance. I phoned on Mon, June 24, 2013, the store from Houston, TX and spoke with Aaron, son of the owner, who was eager to assist with the purchase of another scooter and delivery to a rehab facility for my husband. He said the scooter would be delivered by Wed/Thurs of that week all charged up and ready to go. The scooter never arrived as scheduled. In the interim my husband was scheduled to transfer to an ALF in the area and I was advised by the Director of Marketing that a scooter was not allowed. I attempted to cancel the order with Aaron twice, the second time I called he was busy with a customer and the young lady took the message to be passed on to him. No scooter was delivered and no response from Aaron. I called again to follow up and spoke with Aaron. He advised that he never received the detailed message I left for him and would cancel the special order scooter but would not credit back the entire amount. I would be charged a 20% restocking fee which was posted in the store and on the website. I was not on the website and did not go into the store; I phoned the number I got from the sticker on the old scooter. We went back and forth and the discussion began to get somewhat ugly. I advised him that I would be forced to go to my bank to receive the full credit and he threatened to withhold ALL OF THE MONEY, NO CREDIT AT ALL, if I did that. I became frightened and backed down. I accepted the partial refund and requested an invoice showing the issues discussed. I never received an invoice and I waited until I received a partial credit shown on my bank statement on line. I contacted my bank and told them my story and how frightened I was to report the incident and file a claim. The bank was very supportive and filed a claim believing that the entire matter was handled very poorly and I should have received full credit for an item never ordered and never received. I am 66 yrs old, my husband is 67 and afflicted with ALS now living in an ALF. It is unconscionable to mislead, threaten, and take advantage of those who are vulnerable and require assistance. I was threatened by a young man who obviously has no idea how to manage his business or the customers he has.

Very Poor Customer Service. I would give 0 stars if I could. Dustin, the store manager, who has no business dealing with people has been beyond rude and has hung up on my wife and blindly transfer is to John's voicemail as we never get any calls back from him. My mother purchased a scooter for my father from this store in July 2022 and he subsequently passed away four months later. . My 73 year old mother returned this scooter as they have a buy back program. That's was November 2022. Since then this store has sold the scooter in March of 2023. My mom was owed $1000. Dustin has been telling my mother that John (the owner) writes checks from home one a month, which sounds like hog wash if you ask me. But we have been patient and after 3 months, John has FAILED to issue my mom her money. We have been asking for fairness but just cant seem to get anywhere. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone of need of reliable service and honesty. We are in the process of recovering our due funds now by legal action. It's sad that it has to go this far. Spend your money elsewhere.

Do not under any circumstances buy a vehicle from this company. In Feb. 2019 they sold me a van with a VMI Ricon lift that arrived broken, said they would pay for the repairs and then refused to pay the local dealer that did the work. The lift was heavily used and out of warranty, not "like new" as they claimed. It broke again in June 2019 and then in Jan. 2020. I’ve spent thousands of dollars having it repaired multiple times in less than a year and now have to replace it. I want my money back!
