So adding an APR Tune on my 911 was really cool, so I thought, I'm a novice and asked the vendor for some advice and I was totally sold. However what I wasn't told and as a novice didn't think about digging into is the fact that the second you have spent thousands of dollars on this tune you are grandfathered in, it's stage 1 for sure and it's powerful, but that's it, you can not add any other aftermarket things to your car, they have added features for that, had I known that I wouldn't have thrown all this money in the APR direction. Now that I need the tune removed they charge me $125 to do that, which I was told was free when it got installed. And it's can't be resold either. Step it up APR and tell your clients what they can and cannot do when installing this tune. What a bummer. The tune is encrypted so you are stock with this unless you completely dismount and send the ECU to your new tuner if that's needed (or as mentioned pay the APR vendor to have it removed), let people know that as well. I was thinking getting this for my Audi to, but nah... Two stars, the extra star is for the great performance it does give the car.

Just wish when a tune is released (MK8 GTI) it is available for all ECUs and not just some spent two days trying my best to get this tune done, first at a performance shop, then at two VW dealerships trying to have them update my ECU with no luck. I'm still waiting on a version for my 2023 GTI Autobahn, until then I wait... ::With a respectful edit::

Poor customer support. Did the Stage 2 tune and purchased the bluetooth dongle to control the different modes. The modifications are fine and I'm pleased with the performance however the support for the bluetooth dongle is poor. Right after getting it, the device stopped working. I called in and they told me that they went out frequently and sent me an exchange. The exchanged dongle worked well. Time went by and I only use the dongle to switch to valet mode when I valet the car which is admittedly rare. I tried to use it recently and it was nonfunctioning, just like before. I contacted customer service and they were responsive and quick to respond. They had me track down the original purchase date and promptly told me that it was out of warranty and that they were discontinuing it but I could buy a new one. I don't expect companies to replace things for life, but on something like this where they know it's a quirky device and had to replace it in the past, I would expect the replacement; especially because they said that they're discontinuing it and have a limited supply left that I could purchase from. Just disappointed.

Parts were bought and installed on my vehicle because their website specifically stated they could tune my VW. Once I needed the tune they told me they could not tune it because of the EPA. There was no attempt to help make this right. Update: They were unable to resolve the problem. Products were bought because their website said the parts were compatible with their tunes. And when the tune was needed we were told they do not offer a compatible tune. Thousands of dollars were wasted. Customer from over a decade is left out to dry.

I traveled from Atlanta, GA, for the Annual Haus Party, which was a two-and-a-half-hour drive for me and my friends. We arrived early because a few of us wanted to use the dyno. When we got in line, one friend was told he couldn't use it due to his exhaust clamp hanging too low. What the staff didn't realize is that we all work at one of the largest automotive dealerships in Atlanta, and a few techs were with us. Another friend waited about two hours to get on the dyno, only for three other guests to be allowed ahead of us. Then, the staff announced it was time for a lunch break and that they wouldn't be running the dyno anymore. Despite asking four times if we would be next, we were repeatedly told we would be soon. It seemed like the people who got on the dyno had personal connections with the staff, which gave the impression of favoritism. I've heard bad experience stories from my coworkers and customers but never thought I would experience it for myself. Although we enjoyed parts of the event, the main attraction was disappointing for our group, and I wanted to share our experience so others don't face the same situation.

Unbelievable.. I ordered parts and paid for 2nd day air. They failed to ship them out. When I reached out to customer service they told me that I could cancel the order and then re-order and pay for overnight shipping.. Thatโs the worst resolution ever. They should have A: refunded me for the 2nd day air I paid for. or B: paid for the difference to now ship it overnight to get the order here in time. It was no way my fault that they dropped the ball and didnโt ship on the date they it said they would. (And no, didnโt order at the end of the day..) Itโs mind blowing to think that they feel itโs okay to ask the customer to pay for their error, is simply the worst customer service I have heard of. Anyone that has ever worked in a shipping department knows that you always get the 1&2 day air orders out first, and then work on ground orders. Is APR really that big now, that they don't value their customers ?

Ran into an issue when flash tuning our Tiguan (my fault for not using a battery charger). The support staff at APR (Dylan, Levi, and another) helped me troubleshoot which ultimately led me to send in the ECU. They fixed it and shipped it back all within 24 hours right before the Thanksgiving holiday. It was a great relief especially since it was the wife's car. Highly recommend APR now.

I had the APR Stage One tune flashed in my garage this June, and I couldnโt be happier. The car now pushes 362 HP and 400 ft-lbs of torque when Dyno'd on 9/24. Along with the tune, I installed the APR intake system, APR wheel spacers, and APR coils. The tune has been rock solid with no engine issues. I stay on top of maintenance, changing my oil every 5,000 miles and using Ceratec Liqui Moly to keep everything running smoothly. APRโs customer service has been excellent, and shipping and delivery were flawless.
