The folks at Mobile West went above and beyond my expectations to help me upgrade my car's AV system. Matt was friendly, knowledgeable and realistic in recommending hardware that the best fit for my needs and budget. The staff was always friendly, patient, and attentive. They even lent me a car while my mine was in the shop. My new system now works and sounds great. Don't ever think about taking your car to the amateurs at Car Toys. The employees at Mobile West are professional, experienced and have a lot of integrity. Highly recommended!

I had called multiple times to ask questions about my car radio do to an attempted theft. They explained that it was broken, so after my insurance said pick a car audio shop I knew right were to go. I went there spoke with Peter and he got me an estimate. Came in a few days later and Allen helped me was clear and accepted payment. Made appointment. They had my new stereo looking great and sounding great. Looks like it was made to fit there. Thanks for your great service guys! I recommend them to everyone!!

Peter was wonderful to deal with and could explain how they were going to integrate the new system into my van, answered all my questions. If you take anything from these reviews, hear this: before going to some assembly-line-style franchise, it's worth giving Mobile West a visit first. The good folks at MW have worked on 2 of my vehicles on several occasions over the years and their work is second to none. Car audio is expensive to begin with, so at first, I too was tempted to go to a big name chain to try to save money but found that Mobile West is very reasonable and have the knowledge and willingness to work within a budget to suggest options that work. MW's attention to detail and quality of work exceeded my expectations—they recognize that one's vehicle is an investment and also a personal affect, so they take great care to ensure whatever they touch looks better than before. Peter is the most joyful and patient person I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with–he even loaned me his vehicle while mine was being serviced. You won't be disappointed.

After I bought my new WRX, I decided neither the standard nor upgrade stereo would do. I first patronized a local installer, and was disappointed with the results. Looked up online reputation of Mobile West, and was impressed, I drove 120 miles round trip to have them redo my system. First rate operation. Very knowledgeable, excellent equipment selection, great advice, good prices. They will do whatever it takes to make sure the install is correct. I am an audiophile, and the owner understands and appreciates good sound. Mobile West is more than just the typical 'boom boom' custom car stereo installer. I was impressed that I saw the owner take lots of time to help customers buying much less expensive systems than mine, shows dedication to all buyers. My head unit developed a problem with the GPS after two weeks, and they replaced it with a new one, good support. highly recommended! Update: had problems again with the head unit a year after I bought it. They still completely stood behind it. This kind of customer support is almost impossible to find nowadays. Don't bother talking to anyone else, these guys are the real deal!

I purchased a used car in September and a few weeks later had Mobile West install a double din stereo and a backup camera for me. They did a fantastic job. A few weeks later it was brought to my attention that my backup lights and a rear blinker were out. I had the bulbs replaced but the lights still didn’t work. A friend told me she thought it was probably caused by Mobile West but for some reason I didn’t call them. After all, the car was used and I didn’t want to blame them. Then a few weeks later, my hazard lights were flashing on their own without the button being pushed and I couldn’t get them to turn off. Finally I called. Peter said to bring the car in right away and they’d take a look. Long story short, they found the issue was not due to a mistake on their part. Insert a bunch of electrical jargon here but it wasn’t covered by the warranty since it wasn’t their fault. However! Peter could not have taken better care of me. He said he knew when I dropped the car off I wasn’t expecting to have to pay anything so he charged me a more than fair price for the job (I was on the verge of tears expecting it to be several hundred dollars + and when he told me the amount I almost cried tears of relief). I walked away relieved that it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg and they solved all my electrical problems. Thank you Peter and everyone at Mobile West.

So, my guy’s store was lost due to recent ice storm. And I really like my alarm system and stereo. So, the thought of starting over frightened me, but I researched, dealt with a couple of folks interested only in upselling me to “their” systems, contacted my mechanic friends, attempted the manual myself, and went with friend recommendations. I met Peter and was instantly swayed by a guy who knows his business. The boss man working the front desk, knee deep in paperwork while engaging his team. No hard sell, but he did get me in for an appointment. I came in and Josh the tech fixed me up and out the door I went, even though my equipment wasn’t theirs. But what they got? In terms of service, Peter and his team have been fair and extremely helpful. They are careful to honor warranty and the technical team there is very strong. At the end of the day, I trust them. When I buy my next car stereo, I will return to Mobile West.

I've had the worst experience possible dealing with this establishment. I have been trying to get $1500 back from them for work that they never performed. I payed for the installation of a car stereo that never happened due to their inefficiency and owner/management issues. I have been trying to get my money back from them for months now. I'm going to have to sue them for my money. Please be careful and cautious when dealing with this establishment and the people working there. They have been irresponsive to my calls asking for my money back. I am completely frustrated with this situation and wanted to share this so that it doesn't happen to anyone else....

They totally screwed up. I was quoted a 60-90 minute install on speakers I brought in. I sit and wait. 2 hours later it's only "20 more minutes" after I track someone down. An hour later, I check on my car, nobody is working on it but it "just got finished". They installed the speakers in the rear instead of the front. They said they weren't the right kind for the front, and that the only reason why my dying front speakers sound bad is because of the EQ tuning. The speakers have been dying for over a year, it ain't the EQ. Nobody spoke to me about this. We emailed and I said I was having my front speakers replaced. Nobody communicated to me during or before the install. They let me sit for 3 hours, installed incorrectly, and never said a word about the wait or the install until after I had to personally grab someone to ask. Having to now wait even longer while they take everything out and replace it back to the way it was. Absolutely wasted my day. Hopefully the speakers can be returned. A single check in, "hey these don't fit the front, is that what you wanted?" is all they needed to do. Awful service.

After being treated like an idiot at car toys, it was refreshing to have such straight forward, open, and honest treatment from the guys at Mobile West. Car toys wanted to literally charge me DOUBLE what Mobile West did, with absolutely no information on what justified such outrageous price hikes. The staff at Mobile West were friendly, honest, professional, and super helpful. My car stereo sounds great, and having done installations myself, I can tell you that their attention to detail, and quality of work, is top notch. If you're in the Portland area, and want quality audio products or installation for your car, go see Peter at Mobile West autocraft. Best service, quality work, and honest, reasonable pricing.

This is THE place to go for your auto upgrades!! Peter and his team offer old-school friendly customer service and the highest level of new-school tech. I first visited Mobile West years ago after a break-in. I was so happy with that alarm installation that I kept coming back. I've since had multiple systems installed and had them upgrade my alarm. When things went sideways by my own fault. Peter helped me initially diagnose the issue on the phone and then had his team working hard to solve the residual troubles caused by my error. Don't even consider another shop. These are the real pros!

I never wrote a review for this place but I got a new stereo put into a car from 94’. They came recommended by a friend. I see a few reviews on here about bad customer service and I had the complete opposite experience. They were low pressure, friendly despite being very busy, and got my car in and out within a few hours. They also printed out info for recommended mechanics and other services who all turned out to be incredible.

Couldn't be happier with this company. They treated me with respect and kindness even when I could tell they were having a stressful day. They worked with me to get the best alarm system for the price I was willing to pay, and got it installed within a day. They even gave me a loaner vehicle for the day for free. The show room was a bit cluttered and disorganized, but it didn't bother me. It would have been nice to see a few demos of products besides speakers and stereos but I get that's their main thing. I did have to return to get my alarm adjusted for sensitivity, but they got right on it without any pushback and I was out of there in no time. I would definitely give them a look if you're interested in an alarm system or camera installation.

Several years ago, I had a keyless entry system and car stereo installed in my Toyota LandCruiser. Recently, the keyless entry stopped working, so I brought it back to the shop. The team was incredibly friendly, professional, and fixed the problem quickly — at no charge, even though the business is now under new ownership, I'm sure out of warranty, etc. It’s rare to find this kind of honest, reliable car audio and auto electrical service these days. They truly stand behind their work and care about their customers. I’m very grateful and highly recommend them for any car audio, keyless entry, or auto electrical needs.
