Save yourself loads of money, time and frustration and have your service done elsewhere. These people do not have their stuff together and you will pay for it. Took my car in for the 100,000 mile routine service and brake job. - My car started leaking coolant after they flushed the coolant. Obviously caused by them. So they quoted me over $1k to replace the water pump and refused to own up to it or help out at all. $1k is a laughable amount to charge for a water pump. Two other shops quoted $450 and $740. -Claimed my car needed an alignment, so I paid them to do it. When I brought my car in a couple days later (because they couldn’t finish the maintenance in one day apparently) the machine said again that it was out of alignment. -Claimed both times I brought it in that they washed it. It was not washed either time. -They emailed me a 15% off coupon which I told them about at the beginning. When I got the bill, the 15% was not taken off, and the service manager said I couldn’t use it because the services were “already discounted”… yeah right. Eventually they did honor it but not before making me feel like a huge inconvenience. -The combined time to check in and check out was over an hour. Was 15 minutes late to work. These people do not run an efficient / lean operation. I’ve always done my maintenance there at Barber because I want to take care of my vehicle but absolutely will not be back.

As a Ford service department the mechanics should know about known issues. I called and also visited the service department before I left on vacation due to service light displayed when putting car in gear. The next day I was stranded as the car would not shift and it locked up. The tow truck driver knew exactly what was wrong as well as the other dealer I had car towed to. The shift linkage needed to be replaced and is a known issue for Ford cars that have the dial gear shift. The service manager needs to educate their staff about known issues.
