Horrible customer service experience. I was referred here by a friend unfortunately, and it's the reason why I never assume anymore that a friend's referral is good. John is arrogant and rude on the phone, refused to listen to me, constantly tried to interrupt me as I tried to explain what was going on with my vehicle as though he assumed he was right and I was wrong. I generally go out of my way to avoid doing business with people like this and I advise anyone reading this to do the same. I would give the place zero stars if possible.

I live about a half hour away and when I need something repaired on my car that’s on the more serious side, I always take it here. And I’m not the only one. Many people in my family also frequent the shop. Sally and Jonny who own the place have ethics. And how often do you run across that when dealing with other people that have repair shops?? It’s a rare occasion. It’s worth it to try them out the next time you need a repair done.

Very good place to get your car worked on. They are friendly and work fast to insure your car gets done. Only problem I had is when I called the Saturday after I got my car back because the clamp and hose was not put on right to the reserve bottle for the radiator the person answer and said they were closed. I was stuck at a convenience store for 3 hours till my husband could make it to where I was and replace the clamp and antifreeze. Which I guess could happen to anyone with an older car

I have been coming here for years. I mean almost 8. I had a Sable from a niehbor of mine Tom and he recommended me to Barney's. I have been always treated with respect, work is fairly priced and done in a timely fashion. I have taken my Jeep Commander here for everything I have needed and have been pleased. I trust and recommend them to anyone. Actually taking my truck in tomorrow morning. Keep y'all updated.

Trash. My shoes got stolen that were in my car and the charged me $6,000 for a refurbished motor. Used my old spark plugs and everything. To this day I have issues with the 6k refurbished motor and they just tell me “well it’s under warranty. Bring it in.” No. And he was highly recommended. Last time I trust either person on automotive care.

I could not possibly say nicer things about these people and this business. I called this morning about an issue with my car. He told me to bring it up to them. Just a couple hours later it is back in working order. While I was waiting, I met some lovely people that work there and family members. They made me feel comfortable and helped me pass the time with great conversations. They have my loyalty from now on. I appreciate you guys so much! Thank you again. This is the best auto shop in Michigan! I've been going to them since I've had my first car. I've bought cars from them as well as taken my vehicles in for service. They are very reliable and honest. I've never had any issues with their work. They are such good people they even sent flowers when my father passed away. They are like family!

I've taken my vehicle to Barney's to be repaired twice now after a friend recommended them to me. both times I was back on the road in no time and the cost was less than expected. they fixed what was wrong and didn't try and hit me with extra costs. the staff is polite and professional. highly recommended.

Absolutely awful experience. Waste of time and money I’m never gonna get back. I took my car in at the start of January 2024 for a transmission, and I did not receive my vehicle back until over a month had gone by. They called me one time to give me an estimate, then left me with silence for 2 WEEKS before they even started working on it. Along with the week it took for them to start which they informed me about. I called several times over the period of time they had my car, just to be told that it wasn’t done, or the transmission had not been delivered to them yet. They offered to work on my brakes and replace the control arm as well. (This was 3 weeks in and I thought they were doing this for the delay) I gave them the green light and another week and a half or so later, my vehicle was ready. I was told that my price had gone from $1730 all the way up to over $2100!!! I asked if they could discount the work and Bill told me not only could they not lower the price, but I was somehow “getting a good deal”. (If that makes any sense) when I left, my brakes squeaked and were grinding as I pulled out of the lot, my alignment was a tad worse than before, and my wheel hub bearing was shaking a rattling like crazy. At 40 the car would almost bottom out it felt like. I drove it until I got a flat tire not long after. I went to another shop on 8 Mile near Ryan which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND OVER THESE CLOWNS!!!! And they hooked me up with a new tire, cleared my check engine light, and also worked on my brakes again. I was informed and shown that the work preformed on my brakes by Barney’s auto was incorrect and dangerous. They installed the pads incorrectly and did not grease them at all. The pads were stopping the car at an angle as opposed to flat with the disc. If I could give zero stars I absolutely would in a heartbeat. Avoid this nightmare shop and think twice before stopping in here if you do.

I am really grateful that they took my car in and got it fixed up so quickly despite being busy and the weather being so horribly hot this week.
