I was on my way back home from New Mexico. To Illinois, and my truck broke down west of Amarillo, the towing company that came and got me asked where I wanted to go. I told them I had no idea. The tow truck driver said Bear was the best place to take it. I am glad I took it to Bear. The guys at Bear were awesome. They figured out what was wrong with my truck the first day it was there. They ordered the part and had me on the way home soon as they got the part. I highly recommend them.

To over priced on oil changes fir rv 250 to 500 dollars . And my rv doesn't hold 20 quarts of oil like you quoted me .2023 v8 triton gas engine .8 quarts same engine a a gas 350 250 pickup . Oil would have been over filled and destroyed mu 95000.00 dollars rv . Beware of sorry bear service .

The mechanics did a very poor job on my car it took them two and a half months and still they didn't get the car fixed so I decided to go pick it up and take it to another mechanic which they did a great job. I would not recommend beer automotive

If you’re looking for an accountable and reliable shop, look somewhere else. They wouldn’t even update us on the status of the vehicle (we had to call almost weekly for over a month). I spent $4600 over the course of 8 months going through this shop. They repeatedly misdiagnosed the HVAC issues, and when I pointed out the second issue (stemming from the first repair), they took the lazy route, and charged for that work (ignoring the issue that I pointed out). They wouldn’t even supply proof of the ‘failed’ part this time around. On top of that, the car’s battery died after getting it home. They couldn’t even put it on a charger while it was in their possession. On the other hand, if you want a fast state inspection, they don’t even start the vehicle (this was on 2 separate occasions). I would NOT recommend this shop for anything other than a state inspection (if you’re willing to give them one penny), they’re NOT the old Shorty’s Bear, so don’t expect the same service.

Bear used to be great. You used to be able to go in, find out what was wrong with your vehicle for no charge, and get options on what they could do for you. Now, it's $77 to diagnose your vehicle and they TELL you what they're going to do, no options discussed. The professionalism isn't there anymore. The guy working the front desk had headphones in and was eating a snack while talking to us with his mouth full.

Bear Automotive was absolutely amazing. We are from out of state, when we took our Mini Cooper off the dolly all kinds of sensors were going off. They were able to get it in, take care of the problem and get it back to us the same day. To top it off they were able to drop off my husband and pick him back up at the RV park to get our car. This company is truly one of the most outstanding businesses we have come across in a very long time. Thank you!

They said to go before 5 and I can get my oil changed. Well I did that and I waited for 30 to 45 min just for them to tell me they can't or won't get it done, to come back tomorrow??! I left work early, I can't leave again when I feel like it! I still got 9 months of free oil changes but will be changing my own oil just so I don't have to deal with the hassle of this place. Avoid for oil changes.

Don’t know reason why my vehicle didn’t not get checked-out for an estimate on A/C .was told it was first come first serve so I was like ok. I didn’t want to wait because I had errands to run , so I Dropped off vehicle around 9am .That day was only day I could drop it off . Anyway, Called at 1:18 pm to get status. Was told it would be another hour before they could get to it. Drove by shop at 3:40 pm and it was parked at same parking spot I had parked it in morning out closest to street. Saw it and got upset so I Stopped and went in to get keys. Was not told why they didn’t get to it or anything. Just a simple ‘thank you’ . Anyhow don’t know if you have to know them to get service or what . I know before when it was Shorty’s Bear Safety Service they ran their business great and fairly. I know because I worked for 12 years at Shorty’s Bear when Danny was there. Figured I would try and start to take my vehicles there, but after this experience that has changed. Simple communication. If they couldn’t do it that day or didn’t want to do it they could have had said so. For me and I’m sure most adults ,Time is precious . Anyhow that was my experience.

If I could give 4.5, I would. I took my van in to get an oil change, and I noticed later that there was some damage that had been done to my exhaust system. Even after I noticed it, it took me a while to get it back there for them to look at it. I was expecting them to give me a hard time about getting it fixed. I was very pleasantly surprised when the owner called me within 15 minutes apologizing and asking what he could do to make it right! He paid for the repairs to be done at the place of my choice without question, and refunded the amount I had paid for the oil change. These days, unfortunately, it is very surprising and rare to see such integrity in a business, and this business deserves high praise for it!

Sent in 2 vehicles to be serviced. One had to go back a second time. Another had to go back 3 times Both foreign vehicles. Disappointing when you get a call and told to pick up vehicles, confirming they are in working order, only to realize In less than 5 miles of driving, they are in fact not in working order. Paid the quoted price of $3500 on one of them, took it back to them to report it sill had same issue as when dropped off. Then to add further insult, they dare quote me $6,900.00 for a new turbo that wasn’t even in need of replacement. They tell me that they weren’t able to diagnose the turbo until sensors were replaced, however it didn’t need diagnosing to hear the noise it was making, it leads me to believe it wasn’t test driven the first time around because if so, the evident noise it made would have been heard the first time, rather than the third time. All of a sudden they hear the turbo squeaking now that it’s in for the third time. Other vehicle that was brought back second time because they hadn’t set the timing chain correctly was returned to me without an engine cover. Same vehicle is now leaking oil from the timing chain cover and the thermostat they replaced decides to function when it wants to. No doubt, that could be a faulty thermostat, but I have no confidence to let them make it right for the third time now. When asked where the engine cover was at and why it wasn’t on there, their response was this: We don’t see it lying around anywhere, so guess ll have to order you one”. Received a cover 4 weeks later. The job that was quoted $6,900, after asking on several forums about this cost, all feedback agrees this was an outrageous quote. I actually took on the task myself. It took 45 minutes and $70.00 In parts They did get me a cover afterall, I’ll give credit where credit is due. I found it surprising that I had to ask them to. Update on more of their shady practices. These guys are LIARS ! On my invoice, I have a map sensor that was replaced and it turns out it was never replaced. They have an AutoZone item number on the invoice and it does not match up with what was replaced because it was not replaced. Furthermore, they charge me $650 for a MAF sensor, which is about twice as much as a real diesel shop charges. I was told that I was charged double for the MAF sensor.$635.00!! I was told that the intake was cleaned out as well, it WAS NOT CLEANED. I am adding photos of the intake. The owner has replied with a typical apologetic reply, you apology is NOT accepted! Instead of leaving me you personal phone number, write me a refund check in the amount you have STOLEN from me! Your boy Bobby is a con-artist and you know it. He’s your front man for ripping people off! This facility is the worst experience I’ve had to date.
