One of their mechanics happened to pass me while I was sitting on the side of the road about 40 minutes out of Clarksville. Car overheated on me with 20-25 min left in my drive. I don’t know much about cars and just as I was letting it cool and googling my issue a motorcycle shows up. Travis, a mechanic at bears, checked my coolant and fluid levels- the ones he could considering it was hot- right there and gave me some tips for dealing with it that day. told me to swing in the next open day and he’d check it out for me. I did just that and the shop owner along with Travis and another mechanic were so kind. Helped look over my car, listened to all of my concerns and diagnosed a quite notable issue within 5 minutes of looking at the car. I’d just had my car repaired a month ago by a large name mechanic/dealership which ran a $1200 total ticket after labor was added. They explained the small things you may not know if you’re not a car person and directly showed me the issues at hand. Told me how to bring it up to the place that originally repaired it to see if I could save some money. I’ve always just been told ‘we found something, here’s a price’. Was a super cool experience and I definitely plan on going back. The diagnostic total wasn’t bad at all either, about $60 cheaper than most places I’ve taken it to before. If you’re wanting a better understating and for a mechanic who is willing to listen, show, and explain, I highly recommend here. -editing some time later!! After their diagnostic I went back to who repairs it last and they fixed it right. I told them bluntly another shop diagnosed it and I wanted these specific repairs to be done. Bears and their staff gave me the confidence to stand my ground and I got my car fixed right. Head gasket and engine replacement (RIP) but since I was still under warranty my pocket was protected. Had I gotten it ‘fixed’ and two weeks later had another issue pop up my warranty would’ve expired and I would’ve been screwed. I’m talking $9k at least. So again, months later, THANK YOU BEARS

The folks at Bear Automotive were exceptional. My car was having major power issues and they saw me immediately. The were able to tell me what was wrong and gave a clear no hassle way of how to repair. They checked on me in the waiting area often during my two hours there. I even had some conversation with the owners and we talked as if we'd know each other for years. They even rotated my tires with no charge. Absolutely do not trust this shop for anything! They were tasked with simply fixing my truck that was stuck in 4LO, resealing my transfer case, and replacing my shift motor. They instead told me 5 different times that the transfer case was fixed when it was not (I had to physically go to the shop and show them that it was intact still in 4LO) , then they tried to sell me a transmission multiple times when the trans is perfectly fine. When I got it to the new shop they found that the transfer case was never resealed and was still leaking, the driveshaft had been bent from them constantly trying to drive it while stuck in 4LO, and the input and output seals were not replaced and were still leaking. They dodge the issue and will not take responsibility for their mistakes, they will not refund me my money ( all I asked for what the labor part, not even the parts side). I am now out another $3200 plus the $1350 I already paid this shop to fix something that if their mechanics knew anything at all could have been done by them with no issues. I was constantly argued with, constantly belittled, and then when the truck was picked up their mechanic responded with and I quote ( good I’m glad this POS is out of my lot and way because I was tired of seeing it and dealing with it). Not to mention when the new shop went to check my lug nuts after this place changed my wheels for me. I was missing 3 lug nuts on one wheel, 2 were loose on the driver side, and they kept my lug key. I wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to step foot near this place, most less a friend. Also ask them about the 90’s Tahoe that they’ve had to put 4 transmissions in this year alone because they (keep going out) I also reported them to the better business bureau and they refused to answer or cooperate with them to get anything resolved. This is a very shady shop and all they aim to do is take your money

This shop might have some good folks working there, although there system is way outta whack, also they tried charging me a fee when they never said anything about a fee when they got the keys and no invoice, no signature to approve service at all. They had me make an appointment and when it came time for my appointment, I dropped the car off and they said we'll check it out and give a call, no call for days and I would have to call and call to ask what's up with my car. They still hadn't looked at it and we are talking about a fairly simple oil leak on a little ol 4 cylinder.

I been using bear ever since I got my infinity they are very nice and reasonable people I go up there every time I’m having any problems and I always getting treated like I’m there with them on a everyday basis. My Subaru keeps burning oil. Sara’s team has been keeping an eye on it, trying to get to the bottom of it. I had to get a new engine not too long ago, they replaced it within a week. They have me come back every week just to ensure that my oil isn’t burning too often, and if it is lower than they’d like, they do research to try to find different ways to fix it. Even when a variety of lights come on on my dashboard, Sara and her team diligently check the codes and inform me of what it means and are very flexible on how we can take care of what needs to be taken care of. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend!!

This is the most friendly, efficient establishment I've come across in such a long time. Sara is one of the most personable and kindest people who is always willing to work with her people and get to know her people. Every customer that walked through those doors she knew by name and was extremely loving, generous and patient. Her mechanic, Bryon, did me so right today during my service. I went in for just a diagnoses and left with the heat in my car working again after suffering through the cold seasons in my car and going through joint pain because of it and he made sure I won't have to suffer anymore.
