Service department is terrible and almost cost me a bad accident. The lied about checking my tire that was losing air and said everything was fine. I tried calling to have it reinspected and never called back . Service advisors don’t know anything- just a bunch of ignorant and rude kids. Tire ended up blowing out. Took it to BMW Carlsbad and was a nail in the tire. They were much better there, even though both Penske dealers.

I’ve had many different cars over the years but this is my first BMW. Unfortunately there is usually a waiting period whatever car you have unless you get one of their very nice loaner cars (no charge). However the process is so much nicer here than other dealerships, the waiting areas and service people are the best. Other dealerships would charge me for a loaner or not have such accommodating sales/service people.

Service advisor Michael Parker and his crew found the source of a noise like a geiger counter coming from the back whenever the car was moving. Turned out to be a loose seat belt roller, something I wouldn't have discovered. Just as impressive, everyone in the service department -- advisors, technicians, cashiers, loaner desk agents, and the folks who walk you to and from your car -- was friendly and professional. One minor complaint. My new X1 was kept overnight and returned looking like it had been parked next to a set of sprinklers and allowed to air dry, something I didn't notice when I picked up the car in the shade of the service bay. While the service contract stated there would be no car wash to save water and help the environment, it would have been courteous to return the car cleaner.

First oil change for my new car here. Said they would call and text me when the work is done. They sent me a email with a video of the service inspection, but never called or texted me. Now it’s after hours, and I couldn’t reach them on the phone. I was told it was a 2 hour job, not overnight. A little more communication could have been helpful. Did appreciate the shuttle.

The work on my car appears to have been done well. I did not have an appointment on the afternoon that I brought it in and they hold me it would probably not be looked at until the next day. This was understandable however I did not hear until 2 days later. An update would have been helpful. Also the checklist stating everything that was checked included windshield fluid. I had none when I went in and had none when I came home. So what else wasn’t checked?

Andrew is an amazing service provider. Even after the few times i’ve been there right when I walk through the door Andrew greets me by name. Going to bmw makes me feel like I have a second family. Some people think BMWs are expensive to own or maintain or buy (which I don’t agree with) but it comes with top tier service, not just on the car but on yourself. Andrew and the other advisors can make anything happen, if you need your car done by a certain day, it’ll be done, if you need a specific loaner on short notice, you will have that car. They are so timely and punctual and whenever you have a question about your car while it’s in the shop you don’t have to hesitate to call because they will always answer and tell you the truth. Great work Andrew and great work BMW of San Diego

Great communication from start to finish. When I drove up a nice young man directed me to where I was supposed to go and he ended up being my service representative(Thanks for a great experience Malcom H.). As soon as we confirmed that it would take longer than I expected, they arranged a ride for me. Text communication was constant and efficient. Every one I came into contact with was kind and helpful. While I was there I walked around and looked at the inventory. They have quite a variety of new and used cars, some that I didn’t even know existed. Super fun to see. San Diego BMW has it all. I would 100% recommend BMW of San Diego. Malcolm, my service advisor, was extremely professional, proactive, and supportive during a very stressful situation. The tires on my 2025 M440i unexpectedly popped, and I was worried about how I was going to get home that day. Malcolm immediately took initiative, reassured me, and handled everything efficiently. Even though it was close to closing time (10 minutes left) and my vehicle couldn’t be repaired that same day, he made sure I was taken care of by arranging a loaner vehicle without hesitation.
